2026 T.I.P. Championships and Thoroughbred Premier Series Preview Show Open for Entries

The Jockey Club Thoroughbred Incentive Program (T.I.P.) today announced that entries for all divisions of the 2026 T.I.P. Championships and the Thoroughbred Premier Series Preview Show are now open. Additionally, there is an online declaration form that can be used to declare horses for both shows. Please note that this form must be used for horses that are automatically qualified, for horses that require a Hardship Request to qualify, and to provide information on horses attending the preview show. A Thoroughbred Renaissance Takes Shape at Upperville

For 173 years, horses have been jumping around the Upperville showgrounds in Virginia. That’s 21 years longer than the Kentucky Derby has existed. Despite its long history, this year Upperville is embracing something entirely new. Sixty Thoroughbreds participated in the inaugural $25,000 Upperville Thoroughbred Hunter Derby. For a breed most commonly associated with racetracks rather than show rings, the event felt like the start of something much bigger than a horse show.

A Place to Celebrate Thoroughbreds: Stable View to Host T.I.P. Championships Again in 2026

The average Thoroughbred has the potential lifespan of 25-35 years. If the horse races from age 2 to 4, he or she then has another 20-30 years beyond that, a whole other lifetime which for some could be spent as a stallion/broodmare or as a paddock pet for a loving owner. Beyond the racetrack or a backyard paddock is the show ring, another venue for the Thoroughbred to show off their athleticism and work ethic in partnership with riders of all ages and levels.
