Wanamaker’s October Sale Catalogue Online

The October Sale catalogue for Wanamaker's, the host of monthly online Thoroughbred auctions, is now available online. Among the offerings are Bubble Pop (Smart Strike), a producer in foal to Caravaggio, and a yearling Union Rags filly out of MGSW and Woodbine course record-setter Ageless (Successful Appeal). The sale comprises a total of 22 lots, including horses of racing age, broodmares, yearlings, and weanlings.

Bidding will open Thursday, Oct. 27, at 8:00 a.m. ET, with the first listing set to close at 5:00 p.m. ET. Subsequent listings will close in three-minute increments. For more information and to see the catalogue, visit wanamakers.com.

Wanamaker’s to Host Pre-Saratoga NY-Bred Sale

The New York Thoroughbred Breeders' Inc. is partnering with Wanamaker's to provide a New York-bred horses of racing age sale in advance of the 2022 Saratoga meet.

Horses will sell Wednesday, July 13, the day before the 40-day Saratoga meet begins. Entries for the sale will close July 5 and the catalogue will be released the following day.

The NYTB partnered with Wanamaker's for its annual stallion season auction in January.

Wanamaker’s May Sale Catalog Available

A total of 22 horses been listed for the 2022 Wanamaker's May Sale. The catalog includes newly born foals offered with their dams, yearlings, 2-year-olds, racing prospects and broodmares.

A half-dozen horses will be offered by Windhorse Thoroughbreds LLC, highlighted by the 2-year-old filly Scouting Party (Flat Out). Bred in New York and currently in training in Virginia, the February foal is out of an unraced daughter of Saint Misbehavin' (Sweetsouthernsaint), the dam of SW Mischief Maker (Cape Town) and the granddam of SW Makingcents (Goldencents). Windhorse also consigns the 7-year-old Causin' Trouble (Noble Causeway), a half-sister to Mischief Maker, who has been pronounced in foal to Modernist (Uncle Mo) on a Mar. 13 cover.

Denali Stud is offering a yearling Candy Ride (Arg) colt out of Emerald Quality (Quality Road), a half-sister to GSP Our Dahlia (Belong to Me) and from the family of MGSW & GISP Capital Plan (Rock Hard Ten).

Bidding will open May 26 at 8 a.m. ET, with the first listing set to close at 5 p.m. ET later that afternoon. Subsequent listings will close in three-minute intervals thereafter. For additional information, please visit wanamakers.com.

Line of Vision Tops Wanamaker’s April

Wanamaker's, host of monthly online Thoroughbred auctions, closed April's sale with a top price of $60,000 for young broodmare Line of Vision (Court Vision). The MSW is carrying her first foal, which is due next spring and is by Coolmore America's MGISW Tiz the Law. Carrie Brogden of Machmer Hall signed the ticket.

“One of my clients alerted me to a stakes-winning mare carrying her first baby by Tiz the Law in the Wanamaker's Sale,” said Brogden. “We have had several of his babies born on our farm and were very impressed with his progeny, so this seems like a very solid, long-term purchase for us.”

A total of 19 horses changed hands at the Wanamaker's April Sale, bringing a gross of $197,300. The next Wanamaker's auction will take place May 26, with entries being taken up until May 17. For more information, visit wanamakers.com.
