We are in the era of the event. I'm told younger generations expect more from sports. They don't just want to watch the game, they want to consume it – and more importantly, they want to engage in it. If horse racing is to continue to modernize to suit the tastes of the Tik Tok generation, then it must be willing to go places where other sports are currently thriving.
