Santa Anita To Run Eight Races On Thursday, Kicking Off Four-Day Week

Entries were taken Sunday at Santa Anita for an eight-race card on Thursday, with first post time at 12:30 p.m. With racing cancelled due heavy rains on Feb. 25 & 26, Santa Anita has been granted permission by the CHRB to run Thursday, which was not originally scheduled for live racing.

Santa Anita will offer free General Admission and Parking, as well as $3 beers and $5 margaritas, on both Thursday and Friday.

A pair of $72,000 allowance races will highlight Thursday's program. Race six, for fillies and mares bred or sired in California, has attracted a field of seven at six furlongs on the main track.

Thursday's seventh race, for older horses at a mile and one quarter over the Camino Real Turf Course, attracted a field of nine.

Santa Anita will conduct a four-day week, with live racing offered through Sunday, March 12.

Thursday's entries are currently available at santaanita.com. For additional information, please call (626) 574-RACE.
