Royal Ascot ready for racing’s ‘biggest five days’
Royal Ascot starts on Tuesday with three top-level Group One races on the opening day kicking off the action in style.
“Galerio is a very special horse to me,” Ashley Nelson said. “I galloped and groomed him as a coming 2-year-old.” Nelson groomed and rode him until he was claimed during a race in November of 2019. She had had a special bond with the horse and one day hoped to retire him.
This week, TV and streaming coverage of horse racing expands to an international scale, as NBC Sports will stream races all five days of the prestigious Royal Ascot meeting in England starting Tuesday, June 17, and ending Saturday, June 21, providing television coverage of the event on the final day as well.
