His ENGLISH ROSE (IRE) (f, 4, –Sobetsu {GB}, by Dubawi {Ire}) was 2 1/2 lengths to the good of the more fancied Sapphire Seas (GB) at the end of the 1800-metre turf affair. The final time was 1:47.64 over the good turf. The winner had more left in the late stages and pounced in midstretch, with Nibras Angel (GB) (Harry Angel {Ire}) punching home third.
