Friday Weather Cancellations: Aqueduct, Charles Town, Meadowlands, Penn National

Live racing has been cancelled on Friday, Feb. 3, at the following racetracks: Aqueduct, Charles Town, Meadowlands, and Penn National.

Aqueduct

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has canceled live racing on Friday and Saturday at Aqueduct Racetrack due to high winds and frigid temperatures forecast to impact the New York metropolitan area.

The National Weather Service (NWS), which aligns with forecasts provided by NYRA's independent weather services, is calling for wind chill values between zero and 10 degrees on Friday with wind gusts up to 37 mph, while Saturday's forecast includes wind chill values between eight and 10 degrees with sustained high winds throughout the day.

As a result, NYRA has canceled Friday's eight-race card and Saturday's nine-race card in the interest of the safety of all participants. Aqueduct Racetrack will remain open for simulcasting on Friday and Saturday, and online wagering is available through www.NYRABets.com.

Charles Town

Charles Town has canceled its Friday night card as frigid temperatures and windy conditions are forecasted to move through the area. With temperatures expected to be in the teens with wind chill values as low as -2 degrees throughout the night, the decision was made to cancel in the best interest of all participants.

As a result of the cancellation, Charles Town will add Wednesday, March 1 to its racing calendar.

Live racing is slated to resume on Saturday, February 4 at its standard first race post time of 7:00 P.M. ET.

Meadowlands

Due to tonight's freezing temperatures, the SBOANJ and the Meadowlands Racetrack have decided to cancel live racing for tonight, Friday, February 3.

The track remains open for simulcasting and sports wagering.
