Will Rogers Downs has cancelled its April 17, 18, and 19 cards due to a track surface issue.
In a statement released by racing secretary and track announcer John Lies on Twitter, the track indicated a small portion of the track was “contaminated during a tractor fire late last week.”
Maintenance crews had worked on the area through the weekend and will continue to “optimize track conditions” according to the statement.
Lies indicated the Wilma Mankiller and Highland Ice Stakes will be run next week.
The current season at Will Rogers Downs runs March 6 to May 17.
