A catalog of 20 horses has been released for the 2022 Wanamaker's August Sale. The sale is comprised of breeding stock, horses of racing age, yearlings, and a weanling.
Bidding will open on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 8 a.m. ET, with the first listing set to close at 5 p.m. ET. Subsequent listings will close in three-minute increments. Detailed information on the buying process can be found at wanamakers.com/buy.
Entries into the sale are highlighted by Ski Slope, a twice-raced maiden 2-year-old filly by Frosted. She placed in a maiden special weight at Keeneland in April on debut before running behind Dazzlingdominika, who since went on to place in the Grade 2 Sorrento Stakes, in her second outing.
Also on offer is Justafantasy, an unraced 2-year-old filly from the first crop of the late stallion The Lieutenant. New York-bred and New York-sired, Justafantasy provides for valuable incentives when racing in New York state. She is currently working at Penn National, is gate approved, and could be nearing a debut soon.
