TVG’s Weekend Broadcast Features Full Coverage Of Tampa Bay Derby, Oaklawn’s Azeri

Some of the top fillies and mares in the country will face off on Saturday at Oaklawn Park in the $350,000 Azeri Stakes (G2) as Shedaresthedevil makes her 5-year-old debut on TVG. The weekend broadcast will also include complete coverage of the Tampa Bay Derby Day card featuring five stakes races including the $400,000 Tampa Bay Derby (G2) part of the Road to the Triple Crown presented by Spendthrift.

Mike Joyce and Matt Carothers will be reporting live from Tampa Bay Downs on Friday and Saturday with exclusive interviews and expert analysis. Classic Causeway headlines the full field of 12 in the $400,000 Tampa Bay Derby (G2) after winning the Sam F. Davis Stakes (G3) in February for Brian Lynch. The sophomore son of Giant's Causeway will have Irad Ortiz, Jr. in the irons.

The Tampa Bay Derby will yield 50-20-10-5 qualifying points towards the Kentucky Derby to the top four finishers.

The seasonal debut of Shedaresthedevil, a multiple Grade 1 winner and the defending champion in the $350,000 Azeri Stakes (G2) is set for Saturday at Oaklawn Park and she will face eight rivals including Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1) heroine Ce Ce. Trained by Brad Cox, Shedaresthedevil won the Kentucky Oaks (G1) in 2020 and will have Florent Geroux aboard for her 5-year-old debut.

TVG's Gabby Gaudet will be live from Oaklawn with interviews and insights throughout the card.

Larry Collmus and Andie Biancone will be reporting live from Gulfstream with coverage presented by Runhappy throughout the 12-race card. The featured race is the $100,000 Hurricane Bertie Stakes (G3) with a field of six sprinters. Obligatory, a homebred for Juddmonte Farms, will make her 4-year-old debut for trainer Bill Mott and jockey Tyler Gaffalione as she attempts to earn the third graded stakes victory of her career.

TVG's Todd Schrupp, Christina Blacker, Simon Bray, Britney Eurton and Scott Hazelton will be live at Santa Anita with insight, analysis and interviews. The $125,000 San Luis Rey Stakes (G3) is the featured event and the 1 1/2-mile turf contest has a field of nine including veteran California-bred Acclimate. The 8-year-old gelding will have Ricardo Gonzalez aboard and is one of three horses in the race for trainer Philip D'Amato alongside stablemates Red King and Say the Word.

In addition to racing from Oaklawn, Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita and Tampa Bay Downs, TVG will be featuring racing from Fair Grounds, Aqueduct and more. Fans can tune in on TVG, TVG2 and the Watch TVG app which is available on Amazon Fire, Roku and connected Apple TV devices.
