Following announcements earlier this week that Goffs would stage its Orby Yearling Sale at Park Paddocks on Sept. 24 to 26 and that the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale would also be moved to Newmarket but moved up a week to accommodate Orby, Tattersalls moved to clarify the changes on Friday. In an email to clients, it was stated that should travel restrictions into Ireland be lifted “in the coming weeks”, the Orby Sale will not take place at Park Paddocks and the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale will move back to its original dates of Sept. 21 and 22 but remain at Park Paddocks. It also stated that vendors who do not wish to sell their September yearlings at the new location will be accommodated at the Tattersalls Ireland Flat Sale at Fairyhouse on Nov. 13 and 14.
Arrangements have been made to stage both the Orby and Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling sales at Park Paddocks due to ongoing coronavirus pandemic concerns in Ireland, in particular surrounding quarantine requirements for visitors. Tattersalls Ireland had organized and successfully facilitated a UK buyers' quarantine bubble for its Derby Sale on June 23 and 24, only to have the government inform on the morning of the sale that the UK visitors would not be permitted to attend.
