Shadwell Snaps Up Frankel Filly For 1.6 Million at Tattersalls on Thursday

Lot 492, a chestnut daughter of Frankel (GB) consigned by Watership Down Stud, was knocked down for 1.6 million gns on the bid of Shadwell during the third and final session of Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale on Thursday. Out of G1 Cheveley Park S. heroine Millisle (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}), the yearling is from the same family as multiple group winner and G1 Windsor Park Plate third Gino Severini (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}).

Wootton Bassett Colt Another Millionaire For Magnier At 1.25m As Tattersalls Session Ends

Just a handful of lots remained to sell on Wednesday evening, and lot 352, a son of Coolmore sire Wootton Bassett (GB) and a half-brother to G1 Commonwealth Cup winner Golden Horde (Ire) (Lethal Force {Ire}), attracted a final bid of 1.25 million from MV Magnier to become the fourth millionaire on the day. The Clara Stud-consigned son of Entreat (GB) (Pivotal {GB}) is also a half-brother to listed winner Line Of Departure (Ire) (Mehmas {Ire}), and under the second dam is Turkish Group 2 winner Producer (GB) (Dutch Art {GB}). American Hall of Famer and blue hen producer Serena's Song (Rahy) is under the third dam.

Godolphin Pays 1 Million For A Dubawi Colt Out Of Shastye At Tattersalls

Godolphin snapped up lot 96, a son of Dubawi (Ire) and the late blue hen Shastye (Ire) (Danehill), for 1 million gns to take the lead during Tuesday's session of Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. Consigned by Newsells Park Stud, the bay is a half-brother to six winners anchored by multiple Group 1-winning Galileo (Ire) sires Japan (GB) and Mogul (GB). In addition, Shastye produced G2 Middleton S. heroine Secret Gesture (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), Group 3 winner Sir Isaac Newton (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), and the listed winner Maurus (GB) (Medicean {GB}), who was also placed at group level. This colt's second dam is the G2 Prix de Royallieu heroine Saganeca (Sagace {Fr}), who was also runner-up in the G1 Gran Premio di Milano.

Amanda Skiffington Buys Saffron Beach’s Sister For €1.65m at Goffs

A full-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Saffron Beach (Ire) (New Bay {GB}) brought €1.65 million from Amanda Skiffington to take the overall lead during the second session of the Goffs Orby Sale on Wednesday. Lot 356, out of the Raven's Pass mare Falling Petals (Ire), was consigned by Ballylinch Stud. Sire and multiple group winner Cotai Glory (GB) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}) is under the second dam.
