Classic Hero Mishriff on Top of Longines WBRR

Saudi Cup hero and MG1SW Mishriff (Ire) (Make Believe {GB}) stands on top of the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings, which were released by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities on Thursday. The John Gosden trainee and French Classic winner was rated 122, two better than Saudi Cup runner-up Charlatan (Speightstown) at 120. Australian sprinter Nature Strip (Aus) (Nicconi {Aus}) sits second on the list at 121 after winning the G1 Lightning S. in February.

Rated equal to Charlatan are the Hong Kong-based duo of Exultant (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) and Golden Sixty (Aus) (Medaglia d'Oro). Already a winner of the G1 Stewards' Cup over Southern Legend (Aus) (Not A Single Doubt {Aus}) (118) and Ka Ying Star (GB) (Cityscape {GB}) (117) in January, Golden Sixty then defeated Furore (NZ) (Pierro {Aus}) (117) and Exultant in the G1 Citi Hong Kong Gold Cup in February.

Several horses are ranked a co-sixth, among them GI Pegasus World Cup winner Knicks Go (Paynter) at 119 and GII San Felipe S. hero Life Is Good (Into Mischief). The G1 Cape Town Met presented by Cape Racing victor Rainbow Bridge (SAf) (Ideal World) is also at a mark of 119.

Classic Score Boosts Authentic To Second In 2020 World’s Best Racehorse Rankings

After an authoritative score in the LONGINES Breeders' Cup Classic (G1), Authentic (USA) [126] is now the co-second highest rated horse in the fourth edition of the LONGINES World's Best Racehorse Rankings for 2020.

Authentic won the Classic by 2 ÂĽ lengths over Improbable (USA) [123], while Global Campaign (USA) [120] was third. With his victory, Authentic improved his rating to 126 from 124, which he had received after taking the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve (G1). Other wins for Authentic this year include the TVG.com Haskell Stakes (G1), San Felipe Stakes (G2), and Sham Stakes (G3). He was retired after the Classic and will stand at Spendthrift Farm in 2021.

Several other races during the Breeders' Cup World Championships also impacted the rankings. Order of Australia (IRE) [120] is newly ranked after defeating Circus Maximus (IRE) [120] by a neck in the FanDuel Breeders' Cup Mile presented by Permanently Disabled Jockey Fund (G1). Meanwhile, Tarnawa (IRE) [120] finds herself ranked after beating Magical (IRE) [121], Channel Maker (CAN) [120], Lord North (IRE) [123], and Mogul (GB) [121] to the line in the LONGINES Breeders' Cup Turf (G1). In her previous start, Tarnawa had defeated Alpine Star (IRE) [120] by a neck in the Prix de l'Opera LONGINES (G1).

On British Champions Day, Addeybb (IRE) [125] improved his rating to 125 from 122 with his victory over Skalleti (FR) [121], Magical, and Serpentine (IRE) [120] in the Qipco Champion Stakes (G1). Earlier this year, Addeybb won the Ranvet Stakes (G1) and LONGINES Queen Elizabeth Stakes (G1) in Australia. Also on British Champions Day, The Revenant (GB) [120] won the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (G1) and is now ranked.

In Australia, Bivouac (AUS) [125] improved his rating to 125 from 120 after dazzling in the Darley Sprint Classic (G1), which he won by 3 ÂĽ lengths over Nature Strip (AUS) [124]. In his previous start, Bivouac had finished second to the newly ranked Classique Legend [125] in the TAB Everest. Sir Dragonet (IRE) [121] is also ranked following his victory in the Ladbrokes Cox Plate (G1) by 1 ÂĽ lengths over Armory (IRE) [120].

Additionally, in Japan, Fierement (JPN) [123] finds himself ranked after finishing second by half a length to Almond Eye (JPN) [124] in the Tenno Sho (Autumn) (G1). Chrono Genesis (JPN) [120] was a neck back in third.

World’s Best Racehorse Rankings: Sottsass Joins Top 10, Ghaiyyath Still Runaway Leader

Following his victory in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1), Sottsass (FR) [123] has joined the top 10 in the third edition of the LONGINES World's Best Racehorse Rankings for 2020.

In the Arc, Sottsass defeated In Swoop (IRE) [122] by a neck, and earlier this year, he won the Prix Ganay (G1). Sottsass, who also won the 2019 Qipco Prix du Jockey Club (G1), was retired after the Arc, and he will stand at Coolmore in 2021.

In Swoop won the IDEE 151st Deutsches Derby (G1) in July. He came into the Arc off of a second-place finish in the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris (G1), which was won by Mogul (GB) [121]. Mogul, who is a full brother to Japan (GB) [121], also won the John Pearce Racing Gordon Stakes (G3) earlier in the year.

Kameko (USA) [122], meanwhile, improved his rating from 120 to 122 with his victory in the Shadwell Joel Stakes (G2). In June, he won the Qipco 2000 Guineas Stakes (G1).

The American filly Swiss Skydiver (USA) [122] finds herself ranked after beating Authentic (USA) [124] by a neck in the Preakness Stakes (G1). The pair finished 10 lengths in front of the next closest competitor, and the final time of 1:53.28 made it the second fastest 1 3/16-mile Preakness in history, behind only Secretariat.

Swiss Skydiver, who is only the sixth filly to win the race, notched her first top level victory of the year in the Alabama Stakes (G1) and came into the Preakness off a second-place effort in the Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1). Authentic was coming off back-to-back victories in the TVG.com Haskell Stakes (G1) and Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve (G1).

Mo Forza (USA) [120] is also newly ranked following his win in the City of Hope Mile Stakes (G2), which was his first start since taking the Del Mar Mile Handicap (G2) in August.

Ghaiyyath Tops Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings; Tiz The Law Co-Third Position

After another powerful performance, Ghaiyyath (IRE) [130] remains undefeated this year and retains his top position in the second edition of the LONGINES World's Best Racehorse Rankings for 2020.

Ghaiyyath is a perfect four-for-four in 2020, and he improved his rating to 130 in his last start, where he posted a three-length victory over Magical (IRE) [121] in the Juddmonte International Stakes (G1). One race prior, he defeated Enable (GB) [124] by 2 ¼ lengths in the Coral-Eclipse (G1), and he also beat Anthony Van Dyck (IRE) [121] by 2 ½ lengths in the Hurworth Bloodstock Coronation Cup Stakes (G1). Ghaiyyath started his season with an eye-catching performance in the Dubai Millennium Stakes Sponsored by Jaguar (G3), which he won by 8 ½ lengths at Meydan. The 5-year-old completed the 2000-meter contest in 2:00.33, setting a new track record in the process, before returning to Europe.

Meanwhile, Enable, who was the 2019 co-LONGINES World's Best Racehorse, returned to her winning ways in her next start and took the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes (G1) by 5 ½ lengths to earn her 124 rating. Most recently, she romped in the Unibet September Stakes (G3), which she won by seven lengths.

Sitting in second position is Palace Pier (GB) [126], who is undefeated in three starts this season. The 3-year-old has two Group 1 wins to his credit, after winning the St James's Palace Stakes (G1) by a length over Pinatubo (IRE) [122] and the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard Jacques le Marois (G1) by three-quarters of a length over Alpine Star (IRE) [120].

Persian King (IRE) [125] and Tiz the Law (USA) [125] have matched the rating of Stradivarius (IRE) [125], and the trio sits in co-third. Persian King has won the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp (G1), Prix d'Ispahan (G1), and Prix du Muguet (G2) this season, while Tiz The Law improved his rating to 125 after taking the Runhappy Travers Stakes (G1). His previous top-level victories of the year came in the Belmont Stakes presented by NYRA Bets (G1) and Curlin Florida Derby (G1).

Authentic (USA) [123] handed Tiz The Law his first loss of 2020 in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (G1), which he won by 1 ÂĽ lengths. He came into the race off a victory in the TVG.com Haskell Stakes (G1). Authentic is one of six horses sitting in co-ninth position in the latest rankings. Other recent performers include IMPROBABLE (USA) [123], who has won the Hollywood Gold Cup Stakes (G1) and Whitney Stakes (G1) this year; LOVE (IRE) [123], who improved her rating after adding the Darley Yorkshire Oaks (G1) to the list of her accomplishments; and Mohaather (GB) [123], who impressed by taking the Qatar Sussex Stakes (G1) over Circus Maximus (IRE) [120] in his final career start.
