Weekend Lineup Presented By Hialeah Park NHC Qualifier: Listed Stakes Action From Coast-To-Coast

This weekend's stakes racing action comes from the likes of Aqueduct, Tampa Bay Downs, Gulfstream, Oaklawn, and Santa Anita.

Points on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks are on the line in New York, with five fillies lined up to tackle the $200,000 Busanda Stakes. Hall of Famer Todd Pletcher will saddle a pair, while the field's lone maiden, Affirmative Lady, will garner plenty of attention after her narrow defeat in the G2 Gazelle.

A pair of seven-furlong stakes races for 3-year-olds top Tampa's Saturday card: six are entered in the $125,000 Pasco, with trainer Mark Casse's one-two punch of Grade 3 stakes winner Champions Dream and Ontario-bred stakes winner Armstrong expected to be formidable; and eight are entered in the $125,000 Gasparilla, including the 1-2 finishers in the Dec. 3 Sandpiper Stakes, trainer Michael Yates's Dorth Vader and conditioner Robert G. Smith's Awesome Pic.

Two Florida-bred stakes races highlight Saturday's card at Gulfstream, the Sunshine Filly & Mare Turf with a field of nine and the Sunshine Sprint with a field of seven.

Older horses take to the track in Oaklawn's Fifth Season Stakes on Saturday, drawing a competitive group of 10 including graded stakes winners Ginobili, Rated R Superstar, Silver Prospector, and King Fury. While the Fifth Season is the most lucrative race Saturday at Oaklawn, perhaps the most intriguing race is the fourth, a $104,000 entry-level allowance for 3-year-olds at one mile that has lured a field of eight, including 6-5 program favorite Verifying for his 2023 debut.

Verifying, who was purchased for $775,000 at the 2021 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, is a half-brother to champion and multiple Oaklawn stakes winner Midnight Bisou. Verifying is among maybe a dozen Kentucky Derby prospects for trainer Brad Cox and already has four qualifying points after finishing second in the $500,000 Champagne Stakes (G1) at 1 mile Oct. 1 at Aqueduct. He exits a troubled sixth-place finish in the $2 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) at 1 1/16 miles Nov. 4 at Keeneland.

After Santa Anita cancelled Saturday's card due to an exceptionally rainy forecast, the Grade 3 La Canada Stakes was brought back for Sunday's card and drew the same field of six fillies and mares. Bob Baffert trainees Under the Stars and Ganadora, off the board in the G1 La Brea, get a class drop and some extra distance in the La Canada.

Saturday

3:47 p.m. – Busanda Stakes at Aqueduct

The Busanda is a qualifying event for the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks on May 5 at Churchill Downs, offering 20-8-6-4-2 points to the top-five finishers.

Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher will send out graded-stakes placed Gambling Girl and maiden winner Aniston in the nine-furlong test for sophomore fillies. Aniston (Curlin) enters her stakes debut off a second-out graduation on Nov. 25 at the Big A in her first start contesting two turns, saving ground a close third-to-fourth down the backstretch and sliding up the rail near the quarter pole to draw away a 4 3/4-length winner. New York-bred Gambling Girl (Dialed In) enters from a third-place finish in the nine-furlong G2 Demoiselle on Dec. 3 in her open-company and two-turn debut.

Despite being the lone maiden in the field, AMO Racing USA's Affirmative Lady is sure to garner plenty of attention following a narrow runner-up finish in the Demoiselle for trainer Graham Motion. The gray or roan daughter of Arrogate raced in the clear from fifth while five-wide down the backstretch before launching her bid around the far turn. She established command at the stretch call, but finished a neck behind Julia Shining. She earned four points towards the Kentucky Oaks from her Demoiselle effort, sitting at No. 19 on the leaderboard.

Busanda Entries

5:22 p.m. – Fifth Season Stakes at Oaklawn

Program favorite Ginobili and 2022 winner Rated R Superstar are among 10 older horses entered in the $150,000 Fifth Season Stakes at one mile.

The Southern California-based Ginobili raced twice at the 2020 Oaklawn meeting and recorded his biggest career victory to date in the $200,000 Pat O'Brien Stakes (G2) at seven furlongs in August 2021 at Del Mar. Ginobili was then trained by Richard Baltas, but is now under the care of trainer Peter Miller. In his first start for Miller, Ginobili finished second, beaten a head by stablemate Get Her Number, in a Nov. 20 allowance sprint at Del Mar. It marked Ginobili's first race in almost a year following a physical setback, Miller said.

Millionaire Rated R Superstar will be making his 10-year-old debut for four-time Oaklawn leading owner Danny Caldwell. A late-running son of Kodiak Kowboy, Rated R Superstar bankrolled $600,266 last year after winning 4 of 9 starts. Rated R Superstar opened 2022 with a victory in the Fifth Season and won Oaklawn's $500,000 Essex Handicap (G3) at 1 1/16 miles in March. He exits a victory in the $100,000 Jeffrey A. Hawk Memorial Stakes at 1 mile and 70 yards Dec. 17 at Remington Park.

Fifth Season Entries

Sunday

6:30 p.m. – Grade 3 La Canada Stakes at Santa Anita Park

After finishing off the board in the Grade 1 La Brea Stakes going seven furlongs on opening day Dec. 26, Bob Baffert's Under the Stars and Ganadora will stretch out to two turns and receive class relief in the La Canada Stakes over 1 1/16 miles.

Ganadora, a $1 million auction purchase as a yearling, attended a sharp opening half mile of 44.2 seconds in the La Brea before fading to fifth under John Velazquez. Two starts back, the 4-year-old Quality Road filly went two turns in the one-mile Dark Mirage at Los Alamitos and romped by eight lengths on Sept. 18. The lightly raced Ganadora sports a record of 5-3-0-0.

Under the Stars was the more fancied of these two Baffert runners in the La Brea but was never a factor. The 4-year-old Pioneerof the Nile filly stalked the pace along the inside under Flavien Prat before dropping anchor and finishing last of seven. With Prat landing on Natural Colour in the La Canada, Santa Anita's leading rider Juan Hernandez will be reunited with Under the Stars on Saturday. Under the Stars, twice a Grade 2 winner in 2022, has a record of 3-2-2 in 10 starts and earnings of $357,520 for owners Michael Tabor, Mrs. John Magnier and Derrick Smith.

Weekend Lineup Presented By Hialeah Park NHC Qualifier: Dual Derby Preps

The first full weekend of live racing action in 2023 features a pair of Kentucky Derby prep races – the Jerome Stakes from Aqueduct on Saturday and the Sham Stakes from Santa Anita on Sunday. Both races offer 10-4-3-2-1 qualifying points towards the Kentucky Derby to the top five finishers.

Saturday's $150,000 Jerome Stakes has drawn a field of eight including Arctic Arrogance, the 8-5 morning line favorite for trainer Linda Rice. The New York-bred son of Frosted, a homebred for Chester and Mary Broman, was last seen finishing second in the Remsen Stakes (G2) and will have Jose Lezcano aboard for his 3-year-old debut.

The Road to the Kentucky Derby will continue on Sunday at Santa Anita in the $100,000 Sham Stakes (G3) which features a field of six sophomores. Bob Baffert has won this race eight times and will saddle four of the six contenders, including graded stakes-placed Newgate with Frankie Dettori in the irons.

Saturday's Cal Cup Day at Santa Anita highlights the California breeding industry and the day's ten-race card is exclusive to California-bred or sired horses. The featured race is the $200,000 California Cup Derby which has drawn a field of seven including multiple stakes winner Giver Not a Taker, one of two horses in the race for trainer Peter Miller.

On the other side of the country, Saturday's eleven-race card at Gulfstream Park features a pair of stakes races – the $100,000 Dania Beach Stakes and the $100,000 Ginger Brew Stakes. In the Dania Beach Stakes, Major Dude will make his sophomore debut for trainer Todd Pletcher. The graded stakes winning juvenile was last seen finishing ninth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (GI) and will have Irad Ortiz, Jr. aboard.

Saturday

3:16 P.M. – Jerome Stakes at Aqueduct (Kentucky Derby points race)

Chester and Mary Broman's New York homebred Arctic Arrogance will vie for his first open company stakes score in Saturday's $150,000 Jerome, a one-turn mile for sophomores, at Aqueduct Racetrack.

Arctic Arrogance arrives from a close runner-up finish behind Dubyuhnell in the nine-furlong Grade 2 Remsen over a sloppy and sealed Big A main track on December 3 for trainer Linda Rice. The son of Frosted raced on the inside and held a short advantage over a pressing Dubyuhnell until the stretch call, but could not fend off his foe down the lane and was defeated a half-length in a final time of 1:50.88. It was a further 11 1/4-lengths back to graded-stakes placed Tuskegee Airmen in third. The effort awarded Arctic Arrogance a field-best 89 Beyer Speed Figure.

Klaravich Stables' Neural Network will make his first start against winners after an impressive debut state-bred maiden score on November 13 sprinting seven furlongs over a muddy Big A main track. Trained by four-time Eclipse Award-winning trainer Chad Brown, the New York-bred son of Cloud Computing pounced from 2 1/2 lengths off the pace to take charge at the top of the lane and cruise home to a five-length victory.

Trainer Jimmy Ferraro will saddle New York-bred General Banker as he looks to double up on stakes scores after graduating in style last out in the $500,000 NYSSS Great White Way sprinting seven furlongs over a muddy and sealed Big A main track on December 17. Owned and bred by John Forma's Seacoast Thoroughbreds of New England, the son of leading New York sire Central Banker was a dominant winner of the Great White Way under Eric Cancel, closing from fourth-of-11 to post an 8 1/2-length victory that garnered an 83 Beyer.

Mr. Amore Stable's graded stakes-placed New York homebred Andiamo a Firenze will make his first outing since a narrow defeat to Acoustic Ave in the New York Breeders' Futurity on October 16 at Finger Lakes Racetrack. Trained by Kelly Breen, the son of Speightstown earned his lone graded placing when finishing a game third in the Grade 3 Sanford in July at Saratoga Race Course. He notched his first stakes victory in his next start with a pacesetting 5 1/2-length victory in the state-bred Funny Cide presented by Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital on August 26 at the Spa. He is a three-quarter sibling to the Breen-trained Firenze Fire, who won nine graded stakes and over $2.7 million in earnings, highlighted by a Grade 1 triumph in the Champagne as a juvenile at Belmont.

Jerome Entries

6:00 P.M. – California Cup Classic at Santa Anita

A springboard to superstardom in 2014 for California Chrome, Saturday's $200,000 California Cup Derby at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif., may also have a star or two in the making as seven California-bred or sired sophomores go a mile and one sixteenth.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry D. Williams' Passarando, trained by Steve Specht and fresh off a stirring come from behind win versus open company going a mile on synthetic Tapeta Dec. 3 in the Gold Rush Stakes at Golden Gate Fields, rates top billing on Saturday. A winner versus statebreds of the seven furlong Golden State Juvenile here three starts back, he'll be reunited with Umberto Rispoli, who was aboard for the Santa Anita win on Oct. 29.

Attentive to the pace throughout, Kirk and Judy Robison's homebred Giver Not a Taker was a game head winner of the statebred King Glorious Stakes going one mile at Los Alamitos Dec. 18 and rates a big look with Flavien Prat riding him back.

Cal Cup Classic Entries

7:30 P.M. – Unusual Heat Turf Classic at Santa Anita

With seven-time stakes winner The Chosen Vron expected to run earlier on Saturday's Cal Cup program, trainer Dean Pederson's hard knocking Carmelita's Man heads a deep and competitive group of nine entrants going a mile and one eighth on grass in Santa Anita's $200,000 Unusual Heat Turf Classic.

Owned by Larry and Ann Jett, Carmelita's Man will be reunited with Juan Hernandez, who was aboard for both of his statebred stakes wins last year. With an overall mark of 21-7-5-1, he has earnings of $432,670.

Turf Classic Entries

Sunday

5:30 P.M. – Grade 3 Santa Ynez Stakes at Santa Anita (Kentucky Oaks points race)

Fresh off a visually impressive win in an ungraded stakes Nov. 19, C R K Stable's Justique heads a field of six sophomore fillies going seven furlongs in Sunday's Grade 3, $100,000 Santa Ynez Stakes at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif. Originally scheduled to be run on New Year's Day, the Santa Ynez was re-drawn Thursday due to this past Sunday's races being cancelled. With Justique remaining the horse to beat, she'll face five rivals, all of whom were scheduled to run on Jan. 1.

Trained by John Shirreffs, Justique, in a come-from-behind performance reminiscent of the great Zenyatta, walked out of the gate in the seven furlong Desi Arnaz Stakes at Del Mar Nov. 19, was about 10 lengths off the lead at the half mile pole, cruised into contention while within herself around the far turn and won as she pleased by 2 ¼ lengths under a hand ride from Victor Espinoza.

Off slowly in all three of her starts, Justique will likely employ similar tactics as she takes on a competitive group of classmates that will include three Bob Baffert trainees.

Santa Ynez Entries

6:30 P.M. – Grade 3 Sham Stakes at Santa Anita (Kentucky Derby points race)

In what appears to be a David vs. Goliath scenario at Santa Anita, trainer Mark Glatt's Spun Intended will take on no less than four Bob Baffert Derby hopefuls among a field of six sophomores in Sunday's Grade 3, $100,000 Sham Stakes over one mile at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif.

A troubled second in his 6 ½ furlong debut Oct. 30, Spun Intended was very impressive at the same distance Nov. 26 at Del Mar, galloping by 6 ½ lengths at odds of 4-5. Owned by Edge Racing and Muir Hut Stables, LLC, Spun Intended, a chestnut colt by Hard Spun out of the First Dude mare Flora Dora, sold for $125,000 out of the Ocala Breeders' March 2022 2-year-old in Training Sale.

A near gate to wire maiden winner, Spun Intended will show plenty of speed in his first try around two turns and figures to have plenty of front-running company in the Baffert brigade. Spun Intended will be ridden for the third consecutive time by Mike Smith.

Weekend Lineup: Gulfstream Swings Into Championship Meet With Pegasus Preps

The Gulfstream Park Championship Meet goes into full swing this weekend, with five graded stakes on Saturday's 11-race New Year's Eve program at the South Florida track. Several horses with designs on the Jan. 28 Pegasus World Cup day program will be competing.

Saturday's Gulfstream Park card gets under way at 12:10 p.m. ET.

Out west, Santa Anita has three graded stakes on Saturday and one on Sunday, the Grade 3 Santa Ynez Stakes, the latter serving as a qualifying points race for the Kentucky Oaks.

Both Saturday and Sunday's programs at Santa Anita begin at noon PT/3 p.m. ET

The first Kentucky Derby points race of the new year is also on tap Sunday with Oaklawn presenting the Smarty Jones Stakes.

Oaklawn's Sunday program kicks off at 12:30 p.m. CT/1:30 p.m. ET.

Here's a brief look at some of the New Year's weekend major stakes:

Saturday

1:10 p.m. ET – Grade 3 Sugar Swirl Stakes at Gulfstream Park

Frank's Rockette finished second as the 11-10 choice in last year's Sugar Swirl and the Bill Mott runner will be the favorite again this year. The daughter of Into Mischief is a steady check collector, with 21 of 24 in the money finishes, but she's been runner-up just as often as she wins. Philip Bauer-trained Coppelia could be the up and comer in this lineup and she bids for her third consecutive win in her South Florida debut.

Sugar Swirl Entries

3:09 p.m. ET – Grade 3 Suwannee River Stakes at Gulfstream Park

A Group 1 winner in her native Argentine, Scotish Star is 1-for-5 in this country over the last two years but seems to be going in better form on the East Coast than when she arrived in this country in California in 2021. She looks to be the speed in this field and expect Luis Saez to take advantage of the No. 1 post position draw.

Suwannee River Entries

4:00 p.m. ET – Grade 3 Robert J. Frankel Stakes at Santa Anita

Very contentious group of 11 fillies and mares contesting this year's Robert J. Frankel, including Queen Goddess, the 5-2 morning line favorite who won the G3 Santa Ana over the Santa Anita turf course last March. England's Rose was no match for Regal Glory in the G1 Matriarch at Del Mar Dec. 4 but she should benefit from the additional furlong here.

Robert J. Frankel Entries

4:10 p.m. ET – Grade 2 Fort Lauderdale Stakes at Gulfstream Park

Colonel Liam, the 8-5 morning line favorite, really has his work cut out for him as he will break from the outside post in a field of 12 in a race that could determine whether or not he bids for a third consecutive victory Jan. 28 in the G2 Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational. The 5-year-old by Liam's Map had only one start after last year's Pegasus Turf, that being a ninth-place effort in the G1 Dubai Turf at Meydan in March.

Fort Lauderdale Entries

4;40 p.m. ET – Grade 3 Harlan's Holiday Stakes at Gulfstream Park

How good is the Chilean start O'Connor, who romped by six lengths in his October U.S. debut in a Gulfstream Park allowance/optional claimer for Saffie Joseph Jr.?  Though he won 10-of-18 in Chile, including a G1 race, he'll get tested for class as the 8-5 morning line favorite in the Harlan's Holiday, which figures to determine whether or not he will go on to the Pegasus World Cup Jan. 28. Joseph also saddles Skippylongstocking, whose best may be good enough but isn't the most consistent type.

Harlan's Holiday Entries

Sunday

5:10 p.m. ET – Smarty Jones Stakes at Oaklawn

Brad Cox brings the unbeaten Tapwrit colt Victory Formation to Oaklawn for this $250,000 race that offers 10 Kentucky Derby qualifying points to the winner. He's never raced around two turns but has speed and gets the riding services of Flavien Prat, who flies in from California for the mount. Denington made a belated rally to be fifth at Churchill Downs in the G2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes and figures to improve for trainer Kenny McPeek.

Smarty Jones Entries

Weekend Lineup: Malibu On Santa Anita’s Opening Day Could Decide 3-Year-Old Title

While much of the country is suffering through extreme cold and winter storms, officials at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif., are preparing for their traditional day-after-Christmas opening on Monday, Dec. 26. Temperatures are expected in the upper 70s and there is no rain in the forecast for Monday, though a storm is expected to roll into Southern California on Tuesday.

This year's opening day features six graded stakes (three of them Grade 1) on an 11-race program that gets under way at 11 a.m. PT/2 p.m. ET. Highlight of the day figures to be the seven-furlong G1 Malibu, where a victory by two-time G1 winner Taiba would strengthen his chances for an Eclipse Award in the hotly contested 3-year-old male division. The G1 La Brea Stakes, the 3-year-old filly counterpart to the Malibu, is also on tap, as is the G1 American Oaks for 3-year-old fillies going 1 1/4 miles on turf.

Santa Anita's lid-lifter begins with the G2 Mathis Mile Stakes for 3-year-olds on turf and also includes the G2 San Gabriel for older turf runners going nine furlongs, as well as the G2 San Antonio on dirt for 3-year-olds and up at 1 1/16 miles.

Other warm-weather tracks offering Monday stakes include Fair Grounds in New Orleans, which carded nine added-money races, two of which – the Untapable for 2-year-old fillies and Gun Runner for 2-year-olds – offer qualifying points for the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby, respectively.

Gulfstream Park has a pair of stakes on turf for 3-year-olds, the Tropical Park Derby and Tropical Park Oaks.

Only two tracks are open on Christmas Eve Saturday, Gulfstream Park and Tampa Bay Downs in Florida. There is no racing on the mainland U.S. on Christmas Day.

Here's a brief look at some of Monday's major stakes:

Monday

2:00 p.m. ET – Grade 2 Mathis Mile Stakes at Santa Anita

Balnikhov, coming off a stretch-running victory for trainer Phil D'Amato in the G3 Bryan Station going a mile at Keeneland, opted not to go in the G1 Hollywood Derby at Del Mar because the extra furlong may be more than this Irish-bred gelding wants to go.  He is 2-for-3 at a mile (the one loss being by a nose) and is 0-for-3 at 1 1/16 and 1 1/8 miles. Another Irish-bred gelding, I'm A Gambler, makes his U.S. debut for Mark Glatt and this 3-year-old already has 24 career starts, including 14 races in 2022.

Mathis Mile Entries

3:03 p.m. ET – Grade 2 San Gabriel Stakes at Santa Anita

Phil D'Amato's barn is deep in turf performers and he's got the two favorites here in Masteroffoxhounds and Prince Abama. The former figures to be forwardly placed under Mike Smith, while Prince Abama and Flavien Prat are likely to be running late.  Bob and Jackie won this race in 2021 when it was taken off the turf, but the George Papaprodromou-trained 6-year-old is unraced since March 2022. Leonard Powell has two entries, with Dicey Mo Chara back at his best distance after running a dull race last out going 1 1/2 miles in the G2 Hollywood Turf Cup at Del Mar.

San Gabriel Entries

4:32 p.m. ET – Grade 2 San Antonio Stakes at Santa Anita

Bob Baffert-trained Country Grammer is gearing up for another invasion of Saudi Arabia, where he finished second in last year's $20 million Saudi Cup at 1 1/4 miles, so this race is obviously not his main target. He still towers over a weak six-horse field that includes two other Baffert runners, Hudson Ridge, who's done his best racing on turf, and lightly raced Hopkins, making his first stakes and two-turn start.  The latter is a threat to steal it under Juan Hernandez but he is unproven at a distance.

San Antonio Entries

5:35 p.m. ET – Grade 1 La Brea Stakes at Santa Anita

Hall of Famer Baffert has three runners in the San Antonio and four in the La Brea – half the field in both races (before any scratches). None of the eight starters has yet to win a G1, so this will be a good pedigree page result for someone. Sporting a record of four wins in five starts, Midnight Memories may be the best of the Baffert quartet and comes off a 3 1/4-length win in the G2 Zenyatta Stakes at Santa Anita in October at 1 1/16 miles. Her first two wins were sprinting at Santa Anita earlier this year, so the cutback in distance to seven furlongs shouldn't be a problem. If anyone is going to upset the Baffert apple cart, it might be Hot Peppers, sent west from New York by Rudy Rodriguez. Tyler Gaffalione will be riding her for the first time and this filly has speed and likes to win..

La Brea Entries

6:00 p.m. ET – Gun Runner Stakes at Fair Grounds

There don't appear to be any Epicenters in this second edition of the Gun Runner,  a race that served as a coming out party for the eventual G1 Kentucky Derby and G1 Preakness runner-up and G1 Travers winner. The morning line favorite, Jace's Road, was beaten 36 1/2 lengths last out in the G3 Street Sense Stakes at Churchill Downs, but the Quality Road colt from the Brad Cox barn may have left his race in the starting gate, acting up before the start as the 2-1 favorite. Jace's Road could be the lone speed in this lineup, and Florent Geroux certainly knows how to win on the front end.

Gun Runner Entries

6:39 p.m. ET – Grade 1 Runhappy Malibu Stakes at Santa Anita

If Eclipse Award voters have held out from voting (which they should until the final Grade 1 races of the year are run), they'll be paying special attention to this year's Malibu, since Taiba is in the running for 3-year-old champion despite a poor performance in his only Triple Crown race, the G1 Kentucky Derby in which he finished 12th behind Rich Strike and Epicenter.  The Gun Runner colt and Arkansas Derby and Haskell winner Cyberknife are the only leading contenders in the Eclipse Awards race with two G1 wins to their credit (Taiba won the Santa Anita and Pennsylvania Derbies and was beaten a head by Cyberknife in the Haskell). A third contender is Epicenter, now retired, who won the G1 Travers and was second in the first two legs of the Triple Crown. While morning line favorite in the Malibu, Taiba is no cinch. Forbidden Kingdom, with speed from the rail,  will have to be reeled in, and Wesley Ward ships Naktomi to Santa Anita from his Keeneland base in Kentucky off a good allowance score Nov. 5.

Runhappy Malibu Entries

7:11 p.m. ET – Grade 1 American Oaks at Santa Anita

This may be the best betting race on the Santa Anita opening day card, with 11 fillies looking for Grade 1 black type, including four East Coast invaders. The best of the out of towners might be Chad Brown-trained Salimah, but her last win was on yielding turf. Pizza Bianca has talent but was no match for Regal Glory last out in the G1 Matriarch. Trained by Christophe Clement throughout her career, she is now in Graham Motion's barn. Skims won the G2 Sands Point for Shug McGaughey last out and has the tactical speed that works so well on this grass course. Sparkle Blue is a second Graham Motion runner who comes off a strong score in Keeneland's Valley View. Joel Rosario  will be back aboard the Hard Spun filly.
