Charity Auction Features American Pharoah, Zenyatta Items To Benefit KEMI

Through the generosity of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers Club, the Kentucky Equine Management Internship is auctioning five halters and one horseshoe plaque to benefit its program.

The items include halters worn by American Pharoah (donated by Coolmore/Ashford Stud), Zenyatta (donated by Lane's End Farm), Hard Spun (donated by Godolphin/Darley America), Serengeti Empress (donated by Taylor Made Farm), New Money Honey (donated by e5 Racing Thoroughbreds) and a plaque of a shoe worn by War Front (donated by Claiborne Farm).

All proceeds benefit the KEMI program, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving opportunities for students wishing to pursue a career in equine management. KEMI works with students currently enrolled at a sponsoring college or university or with recent graduates of those institutions. Their internships provide students with opportunities to combine their academic work with hands-on experience at central Kentucky farms

The items are being auctioned off on eBay. The auction ends July 3, 2021 at 3 pm. Find the auctions here.

A daughter of the 2010 GI Frizette S. heroine, the half-sister to SW Key To My Heart (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) and SP Cole Porter (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) is out of a half-sister to MGSW/GISP Jojo Warrior–a daughter of American Pharoah's sire Pioneerof the Nile–as well as MSW & GSP J Z Warrior (Harlan's Holiday) and GSW & GISP E Z Warrior (Exploit). VALKYRJA (JPN) (f, 4, Tapit–Peace and War, by War Front) is perfect in just two previous appearances, a debut victory at Kyoto in February 2020 before returning from a 13-month absence to add a first-level Chukyo allowance over a very sloppy strip this past Mar. 13 (see below, gate 9). Peace and War, upset winner of the 2014 GI Darley Alcibiades S., was sold for $1.45 million with this filly in utero at Keeneland November in 2016. B-Northern Racing

Son of Heuristique Introduced at Compiegne

Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Friday's Observations features a son of G1 French 1000 Guineas third Heuristique (Ire) (Shamardal).

Christophe Ferland saddles the February-foaled bay, who encounters Coolmore and Westerberg's Andre Fabre-trained Ancient Rome (War Front), a son of the dual Classic-placed Gagnoa (Ire) (Sadler's Wells) who is a half to Pour Moi (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}) already responsible for this colt's Group 3-winning full-sister Etoile.

Francis-Henri Graffard introduces the March-foaled bay against the Wertheimers' Saramouche (Anodin {Ire}), another Christophe Ferland trainee who is a daughter of the GII Honeymoon H. winner Sarach (Arch).
