NYTB Hosts Annual Stallion Season Auction Through Wanamaker’s

The New York Thoroughbred Breeders (NYTB), in partnership with Wanamaker's, has opened its annual stallion season auction. A total of 49 stallion seasons are available, ranging from Kentucky sires Candy Ride (Arg), Union Rags, and Honor Code to New York stallions War Dancer, Mission Impazible, and Honest Mischief. The seasons are no guarantee and non-refundable.

A percentage of proceeds from seasons sold for stallions standing in Kentucky will be donated to the Foundation of Appalachian Kentucky for those impacted by recent tornadoes in the region.

Live bidding began Tuesday and will close Thursday, Jan. 13, at 5 p.m. ET. Listings will end in three-minute increments.

In addition, Wanamaker's, which hosts monthly online Thoroughbred auctions, will also hold its January Sale from Jan. 19-27 with entries closing Jan. 18.

Wanamaker’s, New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc., Team Up For Annual Stallion Season Auction

In conjunction with Wanamaker's, New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc. will hold its annual stallion season auction from Jan. 11 through Jan. 13. Forty nine individual stallion seasons are on offer with notable names such as Candy Ride, Union Rags, and Honor Code highlighting the catalog, as well as prominent New York stallions War Dancer, Mission Impazible, and Honest Mischief.

The auction will raise funds for the NYTB to continue fulfilling its mission of promoting New York breeding and racing and protecting the welfare of industry stakeholders. In addition, a percentage of proceeds from seasons sold for stallions standing in Kentucky will be donated to the Foundation of Appalachian Kentucky to aid the relief and recovery efforts of those impacted by recent tornadoes in the region.

Wanamaker’s Catalogs 34 Offerings For December Sale

Wanamaker's has cataloged 34 hips for their December Sale. The sale is comprised of well-bred broodmares, mares-in-foal, active horses of racing age, yearlings, and weanlings from all over the country.

Highlights of the sale include a five-horse offering from Housatonic Bloodstock, each of which being well-bred Maryland-bred weanlings by prominent stallions. In addition, there is two-horse offering from Rancho Temescal including broodmare prospect Smiling Annie, a half-sister to 2017 Breeders' Cup Mile third-place finisher, Blackjackcat.
