Wanamaker’s December Sale Catalogue Released

The 2023 Wanamaker's December Sale catalogue is now available online with bidding open at 8:00 a.m. EST on Thursday, Dec. 21. The first listing completes that day at 5:00 p.m. EST and subsequent listings close in three-minute increments, the company said in a release Wednesday.

With weanlings, yearlings, horses of racing age, open broodmares and broodmares in-foal all catalogued this month, top first-crop stallions of 2023 will also be represented. Yearlings by Mitole, Maximus Mischief and Vino Rosso are included.

Highlights of the catalogue:

  • A yearling filly by Mitole (Hip 6). Mitole is the leading first-crop sire by earnings and co-leader by winners.
  • A yearling filly by Vino Rosso (Hip 3), out of SW Awesome Alexandra.
  • A yearling filly by Maximus Mischief comes from the family of MGSW Candy Man Rocket (Hip 4).

In-person inspections may be scheduled by contacting sellers with the information provided in the catalogue.

Wanamaker’s Catalogs 34 Offerings For December Sale

Wanamaker's has cataloged 34 hips for their December Sale. The sale is comprised of well-bred broodmares, mares-in-foal, active horses of racing age, yearlings, and weanlings from all over the country.

Highlights of the sale include a five-horse offering from Housatonic Bloodstock, each of which being well-bred Maryland-bred weanlings by prominent stallions. In addition, there is two-horse offering from Rancho Temescal including broodmare prospect Smiling Annie, a half-sister to 2017 Breeders' Cup Mile third-place finisher, Blackjackcat.

More detailed information on the 34 offerings can be found at wanamakers.com. Prospective buyers may browse the website to view pedigrees, pictures, and videos of each hip offered. In-person inspections may be scheduled by contacting sellers with the information provided in the catalog.

Wanamaker’s December Sale Catalog Now Online

Wanamaker's has released its December catalog, marking its sixth and last sale of the year. The catalog, found on wanamakers.com, contains weanlings, yearlings, broodmare prospects, and broodmares.

Since launching in June of this year, Wanamaker's has successfully hosted five online auctions in which weanlings, yearlings, racehorses, broodmare prospects, and broodmares have all been sold. The auction company's standout graduate to date has been Fiya, a 3-year-old Fresian Fire gelding, who commanded $400,000 from Rob Masiello and now holds a four-race winning streak, including the Maryland Million Turf Sprint.

Prospective buyers may browse the catalog to view pictures and videos and schedule in-person inspections with sellers.

Live bidding will open at 8 a.m. ET on Dec. 10 and the first listing will close at 5 p.m. ET with subsequent listings ending in three-minute increments. Detailed buying information can be found at wanamakers.com/buy.
