Alpine Princess Goes Big And Easy To Win Untapable S.

Alpine Princess (Classic Empire) did not disappoint her backers as she lived up to favoritism and won Saturday's Untapable S. in New Orleans.

The bay broke her maiden at second asking by a head at Saratoga Sept. 3, but was well-beaten in the GI Darley Alcibiades S. at Keeneland Oct. 6. Returning to her winning ways against allowance company after her race was taken off the grass at Churchill Downs Nov. 26, the filly went off at 8-5 here.

The Brad Cox trainee was in-tight along the rail before the first turn, but she scooted through to the take the lead. Alpine Princess controlled the pace up the backstretch and around the far turn. Unchallenged, the juvenile cruised along down the long stretch and took home the prize over stablemate West Omaha (West Coast).

The winner is her dam's first offspring, but she does have a yearling half-sister by Mitole, who was recently purchased for $95,000 at the Fasig-Tipton October Yearling Sale by Grade One Investments. A half-sister to GSP Another Miracle (American Pharoah), Le Moine visited Game Winner for 2024. Second dam SW Retraceable (Medaglia d'Oro) is a half-sister to SW Maritime Passion (Stormy Atlantic), who is responsible for MGSW Passion for Action (Speightstown).

Into Mischief ‘Rising Star’ On Best Behavior in Untapable

Pretty Mischievous made it a clean sweep of the afternoon's two-turn juvenile stakes for 'TDN Rising Stars' with a good-looking success in Monday's Untapable S. at the Fair Grounds.

Made the 8-5 second pick off a third behind the promising Hoosier Philly (Into Mischief) in the GII Golden Rod S. at Churchill Downs Nov. 26, the Godolphin homebred broke well from the rail draw and enjoyed the run of the race from just in behind. Allowed to take a two-path run passing the 4 1/2-furlong marker, Pretty Mischievous had a head in front as they turned for home, pinched a winning break and ran out a four-length winner over The Alys Look (Connect). Favored Vahva (Gun Runner) bombed the start and raced at the back of the field, but finished off nicely and did well to fill third spot, albeit well-beaten.

A second stakes winner on the card, joining Letellier Memorial S. victress Dazzling Blue, Into Mischief now sits on 118 stakes winners. Through Stroud Coleman Bloodstock, Godolphin acquired 2016 GI Spinaway S. dead-heater Pretty City Dancer for $3.5 million at the 2018 Fasig-Tipton November Sale. A half-sister to Grade I winner Lear's Princess (Lear Fan), Pretty City Dancer is also responsible for Ornamental (Medaglia d'Oro), a maiden winner at Indiana Grand Oct. 25, and a weanling filly by Medaglia d'Oro. The mare was most recently bred to Street Sense. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by TVG.

Not This Time Filly Remains Undefeated in Untapable S.

A four-length winner at Indiana Grand Sept. 27, North County added a Keeneland allowance in a sloppy off-turfer Oct. 30. Second choice Sunday afternoon at 7-2, the Shadow Pond Stable-bred rated in a three-deep third into the first turn in the wake of a dawdling pace. The tempo quickened as noses pointed toward home and North County was shaken up leaving the bend. It took most of the stretch, but she clawed past Fannie and Freddie in the final few jumps to remain undefeated and collect a first black-type rosette.
She has a weanling filly by Sharp Azteca, while her Listed Bowerie S.-winning dam went to Spun to Run for 2022. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by TVG.
