TVG Premiers Year In Review Special

TVG premiers a special feature Saturday, Jan. 2 which will focus on the impact COVID-19 had on the global horse racing industry. The 2020 retrospective will air at approximately 5:30p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT. To watch a one-minute preview, click here.

Saturday coverage, hosted by Todd Schrupp, Christina Blacker and Britney Eurton, will feature a nine-race card from Santa Anita, highlighted by the GIII San Gabriel S. and the GIII Sham S. The 2020 renewal of the Sham S. was won by Authentic, who went on to win the GI Kentucky Derby and GI Breeders’ Cup Classic. The Sham offers 10-4-2-1 Kentucky Derby points to the top four finishers. The day’s coverage also includes racing from Gulfstream Park, featuring five stakes races, including the Mucho Macho Man S.

TVG Live On Site For Big Saturday Card At Santa Anita Park

Three Grade 1 stakes, the American Oaks (G1), the La Brea Stakes (G1) and the Runhappy Malibu Stakes (G1), jumpstart TVG's live coverage of the Santa Anita Winter/Spring meet this weekend from Arcadia, Calif. TVG, America's horse racing network, will be live on site at Santa Anita on Saturday, Dec. 26 with coverage and analysis by Todd Schrupp, Christina Blacker and Britney Eurton.

Santa Anita's Winter/Spring meet will run through June 20 and feature 95 stakes races including the $750,000 Santa Anita Derby (G1) on April 3. Post time on Saturday is 2:00 p.m. ET/11:00 a.m. PT.

Saturday's $300,000 American Oaks (G1), which will be run at 1 ¼ miles on the turf., has attracted a field of ten sophomore fillies from some of the top barns throughout the country including 2019 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) champion Sharing for trainer Graham Motion. She will have John Velazquez in the irons. In addition, trainer Chad Brown will send out two contenders – Capital Structure with Joel Rosario and Duopoly with Flavien Prat.

The $300,000 Runhappy Malibu Stakes (G1) is the featured tenth race on the card and the seven-furlong contest will feature some of the fastest 3-year-olds in training. Steve Asmussen will send out the undefeated Nashville who will be making his graded stakes debut after an impressive victory in the Perryville Stakes at Keeneland in November. Regular rider Ricardo Santana Jr. will be aboard the son of Speightstown. The race will also mark the return to action for Charlatan, one of two horses in the race for trainer Bob Baffert.

On Christmas Day, TVG will be airing TVG Classics featuring highlights of major races throughout the years featuring memorable performances from Zenyatta, Gun Runner and Justify as well as some marquee events from 2020 including the TVG Pacific Classic.

TVG’s Weekend Coverage Highlighted By Road To The Kentucky Derby Preps

The road to the 2021 Kentucky Derby will run through Remington Park and Los Alamitos this weekend with live coverage of the $200,000 Remington Springboard Mile on Friday and the $200,000 Los Alamitos Futurity (G2) on TVG, America's horse racing network. Additional stakes races from Fair Grounds and Gulfstream Park will highlight the weekend's broadcast.

With qualifying points for the 2021 Kentucky Derby on the line, Friday night's $200,000 Remington Springboard Mile has drawn a field of eleven juveniles to compete in the one-mile contest. Outadore, third in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (G1) for trainer Wesley Ward, will square off against a pair of rivals for trainer Steve Asmussen including Cowan, the runner-up in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1). Post time for the Remington Springboard Mile is 11:28 p.m. Eastern.

TVG's Mike Joyce and Britney Eurton will be live on-site at Los Alamitos this weekend with expert analysis and insights into Saturday's ten-race card including the $200,000 Los Alamitos Futurity (G2), the fourth race of the day. The race offers points towards a spot in the starting gate at the 2021 Kentucky Derby and has drawn a field of six including Spielberg for trainer Bob Baffert. Baffert has won the last six editions of the Los Alamitos Futurity and saddled Thousand Words to victory in 2019 with Flavien Prat aboard. Prat also has the mount on Spielberg.

The action will continue at Fair Grounds this weekend with a supersized thirteen race card which will feature six stakes races. The thirteenth and final race on the card, the $75,000 Tenacious Stakes, will mark the return of promising 3-year-old Maxfield for trainer Brendan Walsh. A homebred for Godolphin, the dark bay son of Street Sense is undefeated from three starts and has been on the sidelines since a victory in the Matt Winn Stakes (G3) at Churchill Downs in May. Florent Geroux will be in the irons.

The featured race at Gulfstream Park on Saturday is the $100,000 Mr. Prospector Stakes (G3) which has attracted a contentious field of twelve including the 2019 winner, Diamond Oops for trainer Patrick Biancone. The 5-year-old gelding, sixth in the Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) will face off against multiple graded stakes winner Firenze Fire for trainer Kelly Breen.

In addition to racing from Los Alamitos, Remington Park and Fair Grounds, TVG will also be featuring Aqueduct, Tampa Bay Downs, Laurel Park and more. Fans can tune in on TVG, TVG2 and the Watch TVG app which is available on Amazon Fire, Roku and connected Apple TV devices.

TVG’s Weekend Coverage Highlighted By Gulfstream Stakes, Louisiana Champions Day

Graded stakes races from Gulfstream Park, Louisiana Champions Day from Fair Grounds as well as stakes races from Aqueduct, Tampa Bay Downs and more highlight this weekend's coverage on TVG, America's horse racing network.

Gulfstream Park has four graded stakes races on the docket for Saturday – the $100,000 Rampart Stakes (G3), the $100,000 Sugar Swirl Stakes (G3), the $100,000 Harlan's Holiday Stakes (G3) and the $200,000 Ft. Lauderdale Stakes (G2). The Ft. Lauderdale Stakes, the featured tenth race on the eleven-race card, will be contested at a mile and an eighth on the turf and has drawn a field of ten colts and geldings. Grade 1 winner Halladay, one of two horses in the race for Todd Pletcher, has drawn the outside post under jockey Luis Saez and will be making his first start since a sixth-place finish in the FanDuel Breeders' Cup Mile.

The $100,000 Harlan's Holiday Stakes will serve as a prep race for the $3 million Pegasus World Cup (G1) while the $200,000 Ft. Lauderdale Stakes will be a prep race for the $1 million Pegasus World Cup Turf (G1), both of which are scheduled for Jan. 23, 2021 at Gulfstream Park.

The Louisiana breeding program will take center stage on Saturday with a thirteen-race card restricted to accredited Louisiana-bred horses. The first three races will feature Quarter Horse racing including the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day QH Classic. There are seven stakes races for Louisiana-bred Thoroughbreds on the card highlighted by the $150,000 Louisiana Champions Day Classic which has drawn a field of eight including Shang, a multiple stakes winner for trainer Steve Asmussen.

Christina Blacker and Britney Eurton will be live on-site at Los Alamitos this weekend with insights and expert analysis as the afternoon Thoroughbred meet continues. The action will shift to Quarter Horses on Saturday and Sunday night. TVG's Caleb Keller, Nick Hines and Jose Contreras will be live covering the $600,000 Champion of Champions (G1) on Saturday and the Los Alamitos $2 Million Futurity (G1) on Sunday,

Fans of international racing can tune in on Saturday night into Sunday morning for world-class racing from Sha Tin. International expert Candice Hare will anchor the coverage featuring the Hong Kong International Races including the Longines Hong Kong Cup (G1) and the Longines Hong Kong Vase (G1). Aiden O'Brien is sending a trio of contenders – Magical, Mogul and 2020 Breeders' Cup Mile upset winner Order of Australia. The Hong Kong International Races begin at 11:25 p.m. ET/8:25 p.m. PT on Saturday night.
