Four yearlings–by Galileo (Ire), Sea The Stars (Ire), Dark Angel (Ire), and Camelot (GB)–have been supplemented to the upcoming Goffs Orby Yearling Sale on Sept. 27-28.

From Baroda Stud is lot 229A, a filly by the late, great Galileo (Ire). She is a daughter of Group 3 winner and multiple Group 1-placed Wind Chimes (GB) (Mastercraftsman {GB}).

A filly by Sea The Stars and out of Aegean Girl (Ire) (Henrythenavigator) (lot 315A) also hails from the draft of Baroda Stud. Aegean Girl is a half-sister to G3 Bengough S. hero Lightning Moon (Ire) (Shamardal) and listed winner Song Of My Heart (Ire) (Footstepsinthesand {GB}).

The only colt among the supplementary lots is Yeomanstown Stud's lot 508A. By their resident star stallion Dark Angel (Ire), the grey's dam is the listed winner Isaan Queen (Ire) (War Command), while G3 Prix du Calvados victress Charlotte O Fraise (Ire) (Beat Hollow {GB}) is in the extended family.

Lot 174A, a Camelot filly out of an unraced half-sister to G3 Winter Derby hero Robin Hoods Bay (GB) (Motivator {GB}) rounds out the quartet. She is offered by Camas Park Stud and counts G1 Moyglare Stud S. heroine Bianca Nera (GB) (Salse) as her third dam.

Exceed And Excel’s Sacred Storms Back To Form

On all known form, Cheveley Park Stud's Sacred (GB) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}) was entitled to win Friday's Listed Dubai Duty Free Cup but having disappointed when sixth in the Aug. 20 G2 City of York S. there was an element of doubt which she put firmly to bed with a confidence-restoring command performance. Always happy tracking the pace over the Newbury course and seven-furlong distance at which she excelled in 2021 when taking the G2 Hungerford S., the 10-11 favourite treated the useful pair of Saleymm (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) and Shine So Bright (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}) as if they were lead horses and after cruising between them took control a furlong out before winning by 6 1/2 lengths with utter authority.

“She loves Newbury, but she's a funny old bird, very talented but not the easiest,” Maureen Haggas said of the winner who had returned this term with a close-up fifth in Royal Ascot's G1 Platinum Jubilee S. June 18 prior to finishing out of the frame in Goodwood's G2 Lennox S. July 26 and at the York Ebor Festival. “I think after her good run at Ascot, they got too strung out at York and she lost interest.”

Sacred's dam Sacre Caroline (Blame), a 300,000gns purchase by the Stud at the 2017 Tattersalls December Mares Sale, is a half-sister to the champion turf female Lady Eli (Divine Park) whose achievements include the GI Belmont Oaks Invitational, GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, GI Flower Bowl S., GI Diana S. and GI Gamely S. Also a half to the GIII Mint Julep H. scorer Bizzy Caroline (Afleet Alex), her 2-year-old colt A Dublin Lad (GB) (Ulysses {Ire}) is unraced, she has a yearling colt also by Ulysses who is heading to next month's Book 1 Sale, and a filly foal by Frankel (GB).

Son Of Dubawi Steals The Show At Newbury

Put in his place when five-lengths second to TDN Rising Star Flying Honours (GB) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) in Salisbury's Listed Stonehenge S. over a mile last time Aug. 19, Jeff Smith's Stormbuster (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}–Barshiba {Ire}, by Barathea {Ire}) took a step forward on Friday to dominate Newbury's storied Haynes, Hanson & Clark Conditions S. Breaking well under David Probert to lead his three rivals, the 6-1 shot put another of Godolphin's TDN Rising Stars Highbank (Ire) (Kingman {GB}) into the red approaching two out and powered through the closing stages to inflict a five-length defeat on that much-vaunted rival.

“We thought from day one that he could be very useful and with each run he has been getting there and getting there,” the owner-breeder commented of the Andrew Balding-trained colt. “I thought we bumped into one at Salisbury and was pretty hopeful today. He's in the [G1] Futurity at Doncaster and if he runs again this year, that will be the race. I see him as a mile-and-a-quarter horse next year, but if he wins the Futurity he could go for the Guineas.”

Barshiba was a classy performer for Smith, winning the G2 Lancashire Oaks twice and four listed contests as well as placing in the G2 Summer Mile and G2 Hardwicke S. Her first foal was Dubawi's Arabian Queen (Ire), who caused one of the biggest upsets of recent times when denying Golden Horn (GB) (Cape Cross {Ire}) in the 2015 G1 Juddmonte International, while the other of her trio of Dubawis, Cosmopolitan Queen (GB), is now the dam of the stable's highly-regarded winning juvenile filly Frankness (GB) (Frankel {GB}). Barshiba's yearling filly is by Too Darn Hot (GB).

Deauville Legend On Target For Melbourne Cup Bid

Deauville Legend (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}), a dual group winner in the UK this season, is firmly on course for the G1 Melbourne Cup Down Under in November and enters quarantine “a week on Monday” according to trainer James Ferguson. Second in Royal Ascot's King George V S. in June, the 3-year-old gelding franked that form with a narrow victory in the July 7 G3 Bahrain Trophy S. at Newmarket. Runner-up to the subsequently G1 Cazoo St Leger-placed New London (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) in Goodwood's G3 Gordon S. on July 28, the K K Ho colourbearer rebounded to win the G2 Great Voltigeur S. at York in mid-August.

“He's still on course for Melbourne,” said Ferguson. “He goes into quarantine a week on Monday and I think the form is working out very nicely. It is straight to Flemington.”
