Offered by breeder Mountarmstrong Stud, he is a son of Listed Prix Six Perfections heroine Asidious Alexander (Ire) (Windsor Knot {Ire}), who is a half-sister to the stakes winner and Group 2-placed Accepted (Ire) (Approve {Ire}). His dam also gained group black type with placed efforts in both the G3 Prix du Calvados and G3 Prix d'Aumale. Grade I winners Exbourne (Explodent), Expelled (Explodent), and Affirmed Success (Affirmed) are under the fourth dam.

Longview Stud consigned a colt by Sea The Stars (Ire) (lot 1048) during Book 2 on Tuesday, and the chestnut son of dual stakes winner Along Came Casey (Ire) (Oratorio {Ire}) caught the eye of Roger Varian at 700,000gns to take the lead for the session. Also placed three times at Group 3 level, the mare has already produced the G3 Darley S. winner Feliciana De Vega (GB) (Lope De Vega {Ire}). Bred by Highview Bloodstock, Ltd., the colt's extended family contains GI Beverly D. S. heroine Fire The Groom (Blushing Groom {Fr}), the dam of G1 July Cup and G1 Nunthorpe S. hero and sire Stravinsky (Nureyev).

Starspangledbanner Colt Brings 550,000gns From Hong Kong Jockey Club At Tattersalls

Chasemore Farm's lot 1008, a son of Starspangledbanner (Aus), took the lead during the second session of Book 2 of Tattersalls October Yearling Sale on Tuesday when selling for 550,000gns to the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Bred by Chasemore, his dam Wowcha (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}) is a half-sister to the late The Wow Signal (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}), who won the G1 Prix Morny and G2 Coventry S. before going on to sire G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches victrix Coeursamba (Fr). Since the catalogue was published, the colt's full-sister Breege (GB) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}), already group-placed at Royal Ascot, was second in the G3 Prestige S.

The catalogue for the Goffs November Foal Sale, featuring several half- and full-siblings to Group 1 winners, is now online. Slated for Nov. 14-17, the 1,034 foals will go through the ring at Kildare Paddocks beginning at 10 a.m. each day.

Among the highlights is Airlie Stud's Kingman (GB) half-brother (lot 727) to G1 Moyglare Stud S. heroine Skitter Scatter (Scat Daddy); a filly by Teofilo (Ire) who is a half-sister to four-time Group 1 winner Dawn Approach (Ire) (New Approach {Ire}) (lot 768) from Boherguy Stud; Clonlisk Stud-consigned Churchill (Ire) colt (lot 577) who is a half-brother to G1 Irish St Leger hero Sonnyboyliston (Ire) (Power {GB}); a full-brother to G1 German Derby winner Sea The Moon (Ger) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) (lot 628) from Newtown Stud; another son of Sea The Stars, this time a full-brother to the star-crossed G1 Irish Oaks and G1 Yorkshire Oaks victress Sea Of Class (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire]) (lot 766) out of the Oak Lodge and Springfield House Stud draft; lot 550, a full-brother from Ridge Manor Stud to GI Natalma S. winner La Pelosa (Ire) (Dandy Man {Ire}); and Oak Lodge and Springfield House's Earthlight (Ire) half-brother to the three-time Group 1 winner and young sire Blue Point (Ire) (Shamardal) (lot 629).
