Bidding Open For Fasig-Tipton August Digital Sale

Bidding opened Thursday, Aug. 24 at Noon (ET) and closes Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 2 p.m. (ET) for the Fasig-Tipton August Digital Sale, the organization said in a release Thursday.

The catalogue features 146 horses of racing age, breeding stock, yearlings and weanlings. The offerings are located in 14 states, as well as Ontario, Canada.

“This is our largest digital sale to date since launching the platform in March of 2022,” said Leif Aaron, Fasig-Tipton Director of Digital Sales. “We have a particularly strong group of racehorses, as this sale works well as an outlet for stables as the summer race meets draw to a close.  We are also pleased to welcome several new consignors to the platform, which demonstrates the increasing popularity of Fasig-Tipton Digital.”

Entries include:

  • More than 50 horses of racing age, including stakes and graded stakes performers, as well as maiden, allowance, stakes, and claiming level horses. Several prominent racing stables are represented, including 14 entries from DJ Stable.
  • More than 50 broodmares, including mares in foal to Good Magic, Dialed In, McKinzie and War of Will.
  • Broodmare prospects by Arrogate, Curlin, Gun Runner, Empire Maker, Munnings, More Than Ready and Nyquist.

His dam High Performer (Candy Ride {Arg}), a full-sister to SW Chocopologie, was purchased by Hunter Valley Farm while in-foal–yielding a colt–to Omaha Beach for $130,000 at the '21 Keeneland November Mixed Sale and she was bred back to that sire, which produced a filly Mar. 15.

Bob Baffert has a pair of firsters ready to fire in Wynstock (Solomini), who initially sold as a yearling for $50,000 at the Keeneland September Sale before going this past spring for $700,000 during OBS April. The New York-bred is his dam's first offspring. Last but certainly not least, is Don Alberto homebred Ultra Power (Curlin), who is out of dual Champion female Unique Bella (Tapit). She is the daughter of GI Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic heroine Unrivaled Belle (Unbridled's Song), who is also responsible for her full-sister Vanishing Point, a $1.5-million purchase at the '19 Keeneland September Sale by Yuji Hasegawa. TCA Receives Bequest From The Cathy D. Perry Trust

Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA) received a bequest from the Cathy D. Perry Trust, the organization said in a release Tuesday.

The bequest was presented to TCA board members and staff by Perry's son Brandon and daughter-in-law Diannah in the winner's circle at Saratoga Race Course in early August.

“Diannah and I have been supporters of the TCA, through the purchase of seasons at the annual Stallion Season Auction for years and are extremely proud to donate to them now and help make a scalable difference,” said Brandon Perry.

The couple, who are active in the Thoroughbred racing, named 29 charitable beneficiaries, including several Thoroughbred-industry related organizations.

“The Perry's support of TCA speaks to their commitment to Thoroughbred aftercare and to the well-being of backstretch and farm workers,” said Mike McMahon president of TCA. “They believe in leading by example and encourage others to support the charitable needs of our industry.”

TCA will use the bequest to support grantmaking to organizations approved during its 2023 grants cycle.
