Live Coverage From Arlington, Del Mar Highlights TVG’s Weekend Broadcast

TVG will be live on site from Arlington Park this weekend with full coverage of the final major day of racing in the track's storied history featuring the $600,000 Mr. D Stakes (G1), formerly the Arlington Million, one of three Grade 1 turf events on the card. The weekend will also feature live coverage of racing from Del Mar.

TVG's Mike Joyce and Scott Hazelton, both of whom with longtime family ties to horse racing in Illinois, will be live on site at Arlington Park with coverage including expert analysis and interviews as the track hosts eight stakes races including the $600,000 Mr. D. Stakes (G1), formerly the Arlington Million.

The Mr. D. Stakes (G1), renamed in honor of longtime track owner Richard L. Duchossois, has attracted a field of ten turf horses including Domestic Spending, the morning line favorite at odds of 6-5 for trainer Chad Brown who has saddled four winners of the Arlington Million including the last three winners. The 4-year-old gelding has won six of his seven lifetime starts and was last seen winning the Manhattan Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park in June. Flavien Prat will be in the irons.

At Del Mar this weekend, Todd Schrupp, Christina Blacker, Britney Eurton, Joaquin Jaime, and Larry Collmus will be trackside with exclusive interviews, insights and handicapping selections throughout Saturday's ten-race card. The featured event is the $80,000 PT, CTT and TOC Stakes for fillies and mares going 1 3/8 miles on the main track. Richard Mandella will saddle Tapwater, a homebred daughter of Tapit for LNJ Foxwoods. The five-year-old mare will have Umberto Rispoli aboard as she tries to earn her first stakes victory.

In addition to racing from Del Mar and Arlington Park, TVG will also be featuring Monmouth Park, Gulfstream Park, Pimlico and more. Fans can tune in on TVG, TVG2 and the Watch TVG app which is available on Amazon Fire, Roku and connected Apple TV devices.

TVG: Live Coverage Of Del Mar’s ‘Win And You’re In’ Races, Launch Of Old Friends Promotion

The road to the Breeders' Cup runs through California this weekend with two Breeders' Cup Challenge “Win and You're In” races and TVG, America's horse racing network, will be broadcasting live from Del Mar featuring the $300,000 Bing Crosby Stakes (G1) on Saturday and the $300,000 Clement L. Hirsch Stakes (G1) on Sunday.

A broadcast team including Todd Schrupp, Christina Blacker, Britney Eurton, Joaquin Jaime, Mike Joyce and Scott Hazelton will be trackside with exclusive interviews, insights and handicapping selections.

Saturday's $300,000 Bing Crosby (G1), which will earn the winner a spot in the starting gate for the Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1), has drawn a field of nine of some of the fastest sprinters in the country including graded stakes winner C Z Rocket for trainer Peter Miller. The 7-year-old gelding was second in the 2020 edition of the Breeders' Cup Sprint and will have Flavien Prat aboard.

Sunday's featured $300,000 Clement L. Hirsch Stakes (G1) has drawn a field of seven fillies and mares vying for a berth in the Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1). The contenders include Shedaresthedevil, the 2020 Kentucky Oaks (G1) heroine for trainer Brad Cox. A four-year-old daughter of Daredevil, she will be ridden by Florent Geroux as she tries to earn her third victory of the year.

The Breeders' Cup will be held November 5-6 at Del Mar.

Thursday will also mark the beginning of a month-long partnership with Old Friends, a popular equine retirement facility in Kentucky that is home to retired champions including Silver Charm, Alphabet Soup and Game on Dude.

Any existing account holder that refers a friend to sign up and make a deposit before the end of August will receive a $50 referral bonus and TVG will make a $50 donation to Old Friends for each referral received.

It was announced on Friday that the TVG Pacific Classic (G1), scheduled for August 21, will get a purse increase back to its original level of $1 million. The TVG Pacific Classic is a Breeders' Cup “Win and You're In” race for the Breeders' Cup Classic (G1).

TVG Plans Extensive Coverage Of Del Mar Meet

Opening Day at Del Mar begins on Friday, July 16 and TVG, America's horse racing network, will be live on-site for each day of the prestigious meet with enhanced coverage, features and expert analysis. The weekend broadcast will also include the $1 million TVG Haskell Invitational from Monmouth Park featuring TVG Pegasus Stakes winner Mandaloun and Belmont Stakes (GI) runner-up Hot Rod Charlie.

TVG will have a full roster of talent on-site at Del Mar throughout the meet including Todd Schrupp, Simon Bray, Christina Blacker, Joaquin Jaime, Caleb Keller, Dave Weaver and Scott Hazelton with exclusive interviews, insights and handicapping selections. There will be new touchscreen technology on the set which will allow mark-up replays and graphics to introduce enhanced handicapping coverage.

The supersized coverage will utilize a total of 28 cameras – eight more than in previous meets – and will also give fans a behind-the-scenes look through a Jockey Cam utilized every day of the meet by leading riders including Umberto Rispoli, Flavien Prat and Jessica Pyfer.

“We're investing more than ever before and pulling out all the stops to give viewers an immersive experience for the Runhappy Del Mar summer meet,” said Kevin Grigsby, Executive Producer and Senior Vice President of Television. “We're not just covering the races. We plan to follow horses from the barn, to the paddock, to the gate, around the track and back, and we plan to use the jockey cams to give our viewers a closer look at some of what happens before the actual races in a way that helps their handicapping.”

Del Mar has a ten-race card lined up for Opening Day and the featured race is the $100,000 Runhappy Oceanside Stakes. Restricted to three-year-olds, the one-mile contest will be contested on the turf and has drawn a full field of fourteen sophomores. Dream Shake, third in the Runhappy Santa Anita Derby (GI) will be making his turf debut for trainer Peter Eurton and will have Joe Bravo in the irons.

The coverage of Del Mar's meet will run through Labor Day and will include the TVG Pacific Classic (GI) on August 21. The TVG Pacific Classic is a Breeders' Cup “Win and You're In” Challenge races which will earn the winner an automatic berth into the Breeders' Cup which will be held at Del Mar on November 5-6.

There will be on-site coverage throughout the weekend at Monmouth Park leading up to the $1 million TVG.com Haskell Invitational on Saturday, July 17. TVG's Mike Joyce, Gabby Gaudet, Caton Bredar and Larry Collmus will be reporting live from New Jersey with insights, interviews and analysis leading up to the marquee race for 3-year-olds.

The TVG Haskell (GI) has drawn a field of seven 3-year-olds with the Doug O'Neill-trained Hot Rod Charlie installed as the morning line favorite at 6-5 odds with Flavien Prat aboard. Mandaloun, a homebred for Juddmonte Farms, is the second choice at odds of 2-1 for trainer Brad Cox and jockey Florent Geroux.

TVG, MSG Networks Reach Multi-Year Agreement

TVG, a FanDuel company, America's horse racing television network, and the leading advanced-deposit wagering platform, has reached multi-year agreement to provide extensive horse racing programming annually to MSG Networks, it was announced Tuesday. TVG's signature “Trackside Live” program will air five days a week on MSG Network and/or MSG+ beginning Wednesday, July 14 from 12-7pm, and will be featured every week from Wednesday through Sunday.

“We're excited to be partnering with the MSG Networks to bring premier live racing coverage to its family of networks and its millions of viewers in the New York area,” said Amy Howe, Interim CEO and President, FanDuel Group. “This new agreement is part of FanDuel Group's continuing commitment to invest in our core horse racing television programming and to expand the audience for our race track and horsemen partners.”
