TVG Plans ‘Year In Review’ Feature For New Year’s Eve

Horse racing fans can tune into TVG on New Year's Eve at 6:00 p.m. ET/3:00 p.m. PT on Friday for a special “Year in Review” feature. The network will take a look back at memorable racing moments throughout 2021 including Triple Crown prep races, the Breeders' Cup from Del Mar and international racing. On Saturday, newly-minted 3-year-olds will compete for Kentucky Derby (G1) points in the $250,000 Smarty Jones Stakes at Oaklawn Park, $100,000 Sham Stakes (G3) from Santa Anita and the $150,000 Jerome Stakes from Aqueduct.

TVG's Caleb Keller will be reporting live from Oaklawn Park on Saturday. The Smarty Jones Stakes will offer 10-4-2-1 points towards a spot in the starting gate in the Kentucky Derby and the race has drawn a full field of fourteen. Home Brew, one of two contenders for trainer Brad Cox, has been installed as the 3-1 morning line favorite and will be ridden by Florent Geroux. A homebred son of Street Sense for Gary and Mary West, he has one two of his three starts and will be making his stakes debut.

Kentucky Derby points will be up for grabs at Santa Anita in the $100,000 Sham Stakes (G3), one of four graded stakes races on the card along with the $250,000 Joe Hernandez Stakes (G2), $200,000 La Canada Stakes (G3) and the $100,000 Robert J. Frankel Stakes (G3). Todd Schrupp, Britney Eurton, Christina Blacker, Scott Hazelton, Dave Weaver and Kurt Hoover will be reporting live from Santa Anita throughout the day with exclusive interviews, analysis and features.

Gulfstream Park has a loaded card featuring six black-type events on Saturday. Larry Collmus and Andie Biancone will be reporting live from the track with interviews and expert analysis. The featured event is the $150,000 Mucho Macho Man Stakes, a one mile contest for 3-year-olds. Strike Hard, fresh off of an allowance win at Gulfstream in December, is the 2-1 morning line favorite for trainer Matthew Williams and will have Junior Alvarado in the irons as he faces five rivals.

In addition to racing from Oaklawn Park and Santa Anita TVG will be featuring racing from Gulfstream Park, Tampa Bay Downs, Fair Grounds, Aqueduct and more. Fans can tune in on TVG, TVG2 and the Watch TVG app which is available on Amazon Fire, Roku and connected Apple TV devices.

TVG Live On Site As Santa Anita Re-Opens The Day After Christmas

Hot Rod Charlie will square off against older horses in the $200,000 San Antonio Stakes (Grade 2) on Sunday at Santa Anita as the prestigious winter meet kicks off on Dec. 26 with an eleven-race card and TVG, America's horse racing network, will bring live coverage of every race, every day into the homes of horse racing fans across the country.

TVG's Todd Schrupp, Mike Joyce, Britney Eurton, Christina Blacker, Scott Hazelton and Simon Bray will be reporting live from Arcadia, Calif. throughout the day with exclusive interviews, analysis and features. Sunday's eleven-race card includes six graded stakes races – the $200,000 San Gabriel Stakes (G2), the $200,000 San Antonio Stakes (G2), the $200,000 Mathis Mile (G2), the $300,000 La Brea Stakes (G1), the $300,000 Runhappy Malibu Stakes (G1) and the $300,000 American Oaks (G1).

Some of the features scheduled throughout the day include a spotlight on Flightline, a top contender in the Runhappy Malibu Stakes (G1) as well as features on the recently-retired Art Sherman, the trainer of Kentucky Derby winner California Chrome as well as the history of Santa Anita. TVG's coverage will also include the addition of the drone camera to provide viewers additional perspective on the races.

Grade 1 winner Hot Rod Charlie will square off against six rivals in the $200,000 San Antonio Stakes (G2) for trainer Doug O'Neill. One of two sophomores in the race against older horses, the bay son of Oxbow was last seen finishing fourth in the Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) and will have Flavien Prat in the irons. His rivals include Eight Rings, one of two horses in the race for trainer Bob Baffert.

The Runhappy Malibu Stakes (G1) will be the stakes debut of the undefeated Flightline, a $1 million purchase as a yearling. The 3-year-old son of Tapit is two-for-two since his debut at Santa Anita in April for John Sadler. Flavien Prat will be aboard for his first start since a win at Del Mar on Sept. 5.

The Santa Anita Winter/Spring Meet runs through June 19 and will feature 94 stakes, 54 of which are graded including the $750,000 Santa Anita Derby (G1) on April 9.

TVG Live On Site For Opening Days At Gulfstream, Oaklawn Park

Two of America's premier race meets will open this weekend and TVG will bring live coverage of opening day at Oaklawn Park and Gulfstream Park's Championship Meet into the homes of horse racing fans across the country.

TVG's Mike Joyce will be reporting live from Arkansas throughout the weekend as Oaklawn Park kicks off the racing season on Friday with a nine-race card featuring the $150,000 Advent Stakes for 2-year-olds. The race has drawn a field of ten including the 5-2 morning line favorite Cairama for Steve Asmussen. A $525,000 purchase at OBS in March, the son of Cairo Prince will have Ricardo Santana, Jr. in the irons. The stakes action will continue on Saturday with the $150,000 Mistletoe Stakes for 3-year-old fillies.

Gulfstream Park's Championship Meet will begin on Saturday and TVG's coverage will include the addition of the Jockey Cam which allows the viewers to view the action through the eyes of some of the best jockeys in the world. This popular technology debuted in California this summer. Larry Collmus will be on-site daily with expert insight and analysis throughout the meet. Saturday's opening day card features two stakes races for 2-year-olds – the $75,000 Pulpit Stakes and the $75,000 Wait a While Stakes for fillies. Both races are scheduled to be run at one mile on the turf.

The Championship Meet runs through April 3rd and is highlighted by the $3 million Pegasus World Cup (G1) on Jan. 29 and the $1 million Florida Derby (GI) on April 2.

Breeders’ Cup Players’ Show To Air Live On TVG Friday And Saturday

TVG, America's horse racing network and leading ADW platform, will bring live coverage of the Breeders' Cup World Championships into the homes of horse racing fans across the country on Friday, Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 6 with “The Breeders' Cup Players' Show”, a wagering-focused telecast featuring expert analysis, exclusive interviews and handicapping selections. Fans can also stream the Players' Show on the WatchTVG app alongside exclusive content as part of the Breeders' Cup Multicast.

The coverage will begin on Friday, Nov. 5 at 11:25 a.m. PT/2:25 p.m. ET featuring the complete undercard from Del Mar as well all five Breeders' Cup races on “Future Stars Friday” culminating in the $2 million TVG Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1). On Saturday, the day gets underway at 9:45 a.m. PT/ 12:45 p.m. ET and the coverage will featuring the full undercard and live airing of eight Breeders' Cup races through the $4 million Longines Turf (G1). Fans can tune in on TVG, TVG2 and the Watch TVG app which is available on Amazon Fire, Roku and connected Apple TV devices.

The Breeders' Cup Players' Show will feature a lineup of TVG experts including Todd Schrupp, Simon Bray, Scott Hazelton, Mike Joyce, Christina Blacker, Caton Bredar, Joaquin Jaime, Acacia Courtney, Michelle Yu, and renowned European racing analyst Rishi Persad. The Players' Show will also be simulcast at tracks, simulcast centers and off-track betting venues around the world.

There will also be exclusive content available on the Watch TVG app throughout the day on Nov. 5-6 including on-demand video content featuring live, dedicated cameras following each of the Breeders' Cup contenders from the paddock through the running of the championship races as well as jockey-cameras which allow viewers to watch each race through the eyes of some of the best jockeys in the world.

There will also be a drone camera allowing fans to watch the race unfold from a birds' eye perspective and multiple camera angles utilized throughout each race.

As part of its commitment to give back to the racing industry and to help raise awareness for key industry charities, for the second year in a row, the FanDuel Group is including two of its major charitable partners into its naming rights sponsorships for this year's event – the FanDuel Breeders' Cup Mile (G1) presented by PDJF and the TVG Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.
