Brittas House Dispersal Heads Tattersalls Online March Sale

The final installment of the complete dispersal from the late Peter Magnier's Brittas House Stud is to be offered for sale online at the Tattersalls Online 23rd March Sale.

The sale will be the third conducted on the Tattersalls Online platform where West End Girl realized a record price at an online sale in Britain or Ireland of £420,000 at the Tattersalls Online Ascot June Sale last year. Entries for the Tattersalls Online 23rd March Sale are open now and will cost £150 + VAT.

Headlining the dispersal will be the 8-year-old Listed winning mare We Are Ninety who is set to be covered by last year's Group 1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Sottsass and who will be offered with a filly foal by first season sire Calyx. She will be joined by a pair of Galileo mares comprising Innocent Air, offered in foal to the late Zoffany and Zee Zee Gee, a daughter of the Group 1 winner Zee Zee Top and a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Izzi Top.

The yearling filly by No Nay Never out of Zee Zee Gee will also be offered as part of the dispersal, as will a filly foal by Ten Sovereigns out of the Sadler's Wells mare Brigids Cross, herself the dam of the Listed winner We Are Ninety and a half-sister to the Group 1 winners Sequoyah and Listen. The Ten Sovereigns filly foal will be offered with a foster mare who is to be returned once the foal is weaned.

The Brittas House Stud dispersal will be completed by the Hugo Palmer trained dual winner Combine; a 4-year-old daughter of Zoffany out of the Group 3 placed Sadler's Wells mare Unity whose granddam was the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks and Prix Vermeille winner My Emma. A recent winner at Wolverhampton, Combine is currently rated 95 by Timeform.

Commenting on the Tattersalls Online 23rd March Sale, Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony said;

“The Tattersalls Online platform made an auspicious debut when West End Girl sold for a UK and Irish record online price of £420,000 on the eve of Royal Ascot last year and to be offering the final instalment of the Brittas House Stud Dispersal at our latest online sale demonstrates the confidence that vendors already have in our online product.

“We have already sold six figure lots from our online sales to Australia, Hong Kong, South Africa and the USA and the 23rd March Sale already features lots which look set to appeal to a global audience.”

Tattersalls has also scheduled a further two sales to be held on the Tattersalls Online platform this year. In addition to the upcoming March 23 sale, online sales will also take place on May 25 and June 29 with additional fixtures to be confirmed. Entries for the Tattersalls Online 23rd March Sale are open now and can be made on www.tattersallsonline.com.

Tattersalls Launches New Royal Ascot/Group 1 Bonus For Craven Breeze Up Sale

Owners of 2-year-olds bought at the 2021 Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale look set to be rewarded with unprecedented bonuses as Tattersalls launches a new £250,000 (US$346,212) Royal Ascot/Group 1 Bonus in addition to the lucrative and widely acclaimed £15,000 (US$20,773) Craven Breeze Up Bonus scheme.

The new £250,000 Royal Ascot/Group 1 Bonus will offer a £125,000 (US$173,108) bonus for the first Craven Breeze Up winner of any of the six 2-year-old races at the Royal Meeting, with £100,000 (US$138,488) being paid to the owner and £25,000 (US$34,622) to the vendor of the horse. An additional £125,000 bonus, with the same £100,000/£25,000 split, will also be paid to the first Craven Breeze Up winner of any of the 15 European Group 1 races open to 2-year-olds, including the all-age Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York and the Group 1 Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp.

Commenting on the new £250,000 Royal Ascot/Group 1 Bonus, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said;

“The new £250,000 Royal Ascot/Group 1 Bonus reinforces our commitment not only to the flagship Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale, but also to rewarding owners in as many innovative ways as we can. The £15,000 Craven Breeze Up Bonus immediately captured the imagination of owners and trainers and the new £250,000 Royal Ascot/Group 1 Bonus further enhances the appeal of a sale which annually produces a consistent flow of high class precocious Royal Ascot two-year-olds as well as Group 1 performers throughout the year. The multiple bonuses will reward numerous owners and in addition, the prospect of an owner winning a £15,000 Craven Breeze Up Bonus, followed by the £125,000 Royal Ascot Bonus and ultimately the £125,000 Group 1 Bonus is also very real.”

Endorsing the new £250,000 Royal Ascot/Group 1 Bonus, trainer Richard Hannon added;

“We have bought some serious two-year-olds from the Craven Breeze Up with Peter and Ross Doyle over the years and the combination of the new £250,000 Royal Ascot/Group 1 Bonus with the £15,000 Craven Breeze Up Bonus will make it a compelling prospect for our owners. Mehmas springs to mind, although we will have to do better this time. He finished second in the Coventry at Royal Ascot, second in the Group 1 National Stakes and third in the Group 1 Middle Park.”

The 2021 Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale will take place April 12-14, with all 2-year-olds breezing on the morning of Monday, April 12 on the Jockey Club Estates' watered gallop at Newmarket's Rowley Mile Racecourse.

Tattersalls Launches New Craven Bonus

Tattersalls has announced a new £250,000 Royal Ascot/Group 1 Bonus for graduates of its Craven Breeze Up Sale, which is this year scheduled for Apr. 13 and 14 at Park Paddocks, with the breeze over the Rowley Mile on Apr. 12.

Half of the bonus will be paid out to the connections of the first Craven Breeze Up winner of any 2-year-old race at Royal Ascot, with £100,000 designated for the owner of the horse and £25,000 for the vendor. The second half of the bonus, with the same owner/vendor split, will be paid to the first Craven Breeze Up winner of a European Group 1 for 2-year-olds. The G1 Nunthorpe S. and G1 Prix de l'Abbaye, which are all-age and open to 2-year-olds, also qualify.

The Royal Ascot/Group 1 Bonus will be run alongside the current £15,000 Craven Breeze Up Bonus, which rewards owners if their purchase wins a Class 2, 3 or 4 maiden or novice race in Britain or an open 2-year-old maiden in Ireland. There is a £1,000 buy in.

“The new £250,000 Royal Ascot/Group 1 Bonus reinforces our commitment not only to the flagship Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale, but also to rewarding owners in as many innovative ways as we can,” said Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony. “The £15,000 Craven Breeze Up Bonus immediately captured the imagination of owners and trainers and the new £250,000 Royal Ascot/Group 1 Bonus further enhances the appeal of a sale which annually produces a consistent flow of high class precocious Royal Ascot 2-year-olds as well as Group 1 performers throughout the year. The multiple bonuses will reward numerous owners and in addition, the prospect of an owner winning a £15,000 Craven Breeze Up Bonus, followed by the £125,000 Royal Ascot Bonus and ultimately the £125,000 Group 1 Bonus is also very real.”

Trainer Richard Hannon endorsed the concept, saying, “We have bought some serious 2-year-olds from the Craven Breeze Up with Peter and Ross Doyle over the years and the combination of the new £250,000 Royal Ascot/Group 1 Bonus with the £15,000 Craven Breeze Up Bonus will make it a compelling prospect for our owners. Mehmas springs to mind, although we will have to do better this time. He finished second in the Coventry at Royal Ascot, second in the G1 National S. and third in the G1 Middle Park.”
