Joint Toppers at Tattersalls Online

The Tattersalls Online August 17th Sale concluded its one-day run on Tuesday with co-toppers at 26,000gns. The Kodi Kid (Ire) (Kodi Bear {Ire}), lot 24, was the first of the pair to sell and was picked up by Paul Wildes from the consignment of Andrew Balding's Park House Stables. A two-time winner from six starts so far, the 3-year-old gelding is rated 87 and is out of a half-sister to Scandinavian champion sprinter Easy Road (GB) (Compton Place {GB}), who won the G3 Polar Cup.

Matching The Kodi Kid's price was National Hunt prospect Rotten Row (Ire) (Leading Light {Ire}) (lot 35), who went to Timmy O'Byrne. Consigned by Joseph O'Brien's Carriganog Racing, Rotten Row is a winner of his only start, a NH flat race at Roscommon, and is out of a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Chasing Cars (Ire) (Supreme Leader).

Bidding for G2 Coventry S. runner-up Eldrickjones (Ire) (Cotai Glory {GB}) (lot 10) and stakes winner and G3 Solario S. third Apollo One (GB) (Equiano {Fr}) (lot 26) reached 280,00gns and 250,000gns, respectively, but neither horse was marked as sold.

At the end of the day's trade, 12 of the 28 lots offered found new homes for a gross of 120,500gns. The average was 10,042gns and the median was 5,650gns.

After the conclusion of the Tattersalls Online Aug. 17th Sale, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony commented, “The Tattersalls Online platform continues to prove its worth as a convenient alternative to conventional sales, and our sixth online sale has again shown consistent demand from buyers at all levels of the market for the diverse range of flat and National Hunt prospects offered. Our next online sale will be held on Sept. 15th. We are also looking forward to holding our first Tattersalls Online sale exclusively for point-to-pointers and National Hunt prospects in December and we are confident that the Tattersalls Online platform will continue to broaden its appeal to both domestic and international buyers.”
