Tatts Ireland Appoints Anderson-Jolag

Tattersalls Ireland has appointed Shirley Anderson – Jolag to the role of UK Client Relations. In addition to her new role for Tattersalls Ireland, she will also continue to promote Tattersalls sales at both Cheltenham and Ascot. Joining the Tattersalls Group seven years ago, Anderson – Jolag played a key role in developing and promoting Tattersalls sales at Cheltenham, Ascot and also Park Paddocks, with particular emphasis on the launch of last year's inaugural Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale. In her new Tattersalls Ireland role, Anderson – Jolag  will be working in tandem with Niamh Spiller in addition to the Fairyhouse-based Client Relations and Bloodstock Sales teams promoting Tattersalls Ireland sales, both National Hunt and Flat, to new and existing British buyers and vendors, with a particular emphasis on the flagship Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale and the September Yearling Sale.

Casey Named Group CFO Of HRI

Roger Casey, a chartered accountant who has been with Tattersalls Ireland for 14 years, will join Horse Racing Ireland as Group Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Suzanne Eade, who has moved into the role of chief executive officer.

Casey is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, a member of the Institute of Directors in Ireland, and brings international commercial experience to the role having worked with Marsh McClennan; KPMG in Toronto and Dublin; and Deloitte in Dublin.

Eade said, “I look forward to working with Roger, who brings significant financial expertise and leadership to Horse Racing Ireland, coupled with a strong understanding and appreciation for the racing and breeding industry. Roger will have the full backing of a dedicated team in HRI across a diverse portfolio who I have enjoyed working directly with for over six years.”

Casey said, “Racing and breeding are part of the fabric of life in Ireland and I am very aware of the significant impact and footprint of this industry having spent 14 years with a great team at Tattersalls Ireland. Farrell Joins Tattersalls Ireland

Christopher Farrell, who spent the last three years as bloodstock consultant at Magic Millions, has been appointed to the new role of Flat Sales Executive at Tattersalls Ireland. Farrell, a graduate of University College Dublin and Godolphin Flying Start, will focus on developing the firm's flat sales portfolio and attracting new and existing vendors and buyers to sales at Fairyhouse. His role will have an emphasis on improving the quality of offerings at the Tattersalls Ireland Goresbridge Breeze Up Sale, September Yearling Sale and November Flat Breeding Stock Sale.

From Co. Laois, Farrell has also spent time at Paca Paca Farm in Japan and with Equilume as a sales and marketing executive, which took him to Kentucky, California and Australia.

“Christopher is a superb addition to the Tattersalls Ireland team and will perfectly complement our existing bloodstock personnel and international agents with whom he will work closely,” said Tattersalls Ireland Chief Executive Officer Simon Kerins. “His wide-ranging experience of the international racing and bloodstock industry, together with an exemplary record on the Godolphin Flying Start program and time spent at Magic Millions, makes him the ideal fit for this exciting new position. Orla McKenna Appointed Head of Bloodstock For Tattersalls Ireland

Orla McKenna, who has been a member of the Tattersalls Ireland bloodstock team for 16 years, has been promoted to the position of Head of Bloodstock. Previously McKenna was the Tattersalls Ireland Bloodstock Manager. A keen pony racing competitor when she was young, McKenna also rode as an amateur for the late Dessie Hughes for a couple of years prior to joining Tattersalls Ireland in 2006. She returned to the saddle in 2018 to ride out for Gavin Cromwell in preparation for participating in the Corinthian Challenge.

Tattersalls Ireland CEO Simon Kerins said, “I am delighted to announce Orla as Head of Bloodstock for Tattersalls Ireland.
