A half-sister to Australian Group 3 winner Beyond Thankful (Ire) (Whipper), Turret Rocks also ran second in the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac and was third in the G1 Pretty Polly S. The colt's extended family features the great Goldikova (Ire) (Anabaa).
