Sir Prancealot’s Miss Amulet Prevails In the Lowther

Having beaten Frenetic (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) in the Listed Marwell S. over five furlongs at Naas Aug. 3, Miss Amulet (Ire) (Sir Prancealot {Ire}) was one of the main contenders for Thursday’s G2 Sky Bet Lowther S. at York and she lived up to the billing when holding off Sacred (GB) (Exceed and Excel {Aus}) in a pulsating finale. Always prominent, the 15-2 shot was marginally ahead approaching the furlong pole before being joined by that 15-8 favourite soon after. Pulling out extra for James Doyle in the run to the line, the latest juvenile talent from the Ken Condon stable had a length to spare over that G2 Queen Mary S. runner-up at the line, with Umm Kulthum (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) 3 1/4 lengths behind in third.

Freshman Sire Charming Thought Off the Mark at Great Yarmouth

Darley stallion Charming Thought (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}), who operated out of Dalham Hall Stud for a fee of £5,000 this year, became the latest European freshman sire off the mark when the Tick Tock Partnership’s Alicestar (GB) claimed a debut score going a shade over six furlongs in Wednesday’s Southwold Novice Auction S. at Great Yarmouth.

5th-Great Yarmouth, £5,400, Nov, 7-22, 2yo, 6f 3yT, 1:13.47, g/f.
ALICESTAR (GB) (f, 2, Charming Thought {GB}–Atheera {Ire}, by Shamardal) found cover in fifth from the outset of this unveiling. Angled into the clear approaching the quarter-mile marker, the 4-1 second favourite was ridden to go second entering the final eighth and pushed out late to assert by 1 1/4 lengths from Soldier Lions (Ire) (Equiano {Fr}), becoming the first winner for her freshman sire (by Oasis Dream {GB}). She is the latest of four winning foals produced by a winning granddaughter of G1 Irish 1000 Guineas heroine Mehthaaf (Nureyev), herself a half-sister to G1 July Cup-winning sire Elnadim (Danzig). Freshman Sire Pride of Dubai Off the Mark at Ayr

Coolmore-based sire Pride of Dubai (Aus) (Street Cry {Ire}) became the latest European freshman off the mark when the twice-raced juvenile Star of Emaraaty (Ire) survived a stewards’ enquiry to prevail in Monday’s EBF Stallions Fillies’ Novice Auction S. over an extended seven furlongs at Ayr. In front throughout, the 2-1 second favourite came under ever-increasing pressure inside the final quarter mile and was ridden out in the closing stages to deny Party Spirit (GB) (Night of Thunder {Ire}) by a neck.

3rd-Ayr, £6,400, Nov, 7-13, 2yo, f, 7f 50yT, 1:31.88, gd.
STAR OF EMARAATY (IRE) (f, 2, Pride of Dubai {Aus}–La Grande Elisa {Ire}, by Ad Valorem) shaped with promise when a June 7 debut second over six furlongs at Haydock, posting an 11th of 18 to Campanelle (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) dropped to five for Royal Ascot’s June 20 G2 Queen Mary S. next time, and hit the lids ready for immediate control of this first try at seven furlongs. Scrubbed along when threatened approaching the quarter-mile marker, the 2-1 second favourite came under ever-increasing pressure thereafter and, despite instigating a stewards’ enquiry when drifting right inside the final furlong, was ridden out to hold the persistent presence of Party Spirit (GB) (Night of Thunder {Ire}) by a neck, becoming the first winner for her Coolmore Stud-based freshman sire (by Street Cry {Ire}). Kin to a yearling filly by Moohaajim (Ire), the February-foaled chestnut is the fourth of five foals and second scorer produced by a half-sister to MG1SW sire Rip Van Winkle (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), G3 Premio Enrico Camici-winning sire Le Vie Infinite (Ire) (Le Vie Dei Colori {GB}) and to the dam of stakes-winning G1 Middle Park S. runner-up Fleet Review (War Front). Sales history: €6,800 RNA Ylg ’19 GOFFEB; €3,500 Ylg ’19 GOFSPT. Lifetime Record: 3-1-1-0, $6,789.
