First Foal for Spendthrift’s Known Agenda

GI Florida Derby winner Known Agenda (Curlin) was represented by his first foal Jan. 7. The filly was born at Glendalough Farm in Lexington and was bred by Phillips Farm LLC out of Sunandsea (Henny Hughes).

“We are just overjoyed with this filly,” said Phillips Farm's Joshua Phillips. “She's exceptionally well-muscled, has a nice hip and a lot of leg underneath her. Just a physically strong individual like the good Curlins. We looked at a lot of different stallions for this mare and Known Agenda stamped this filly beautifully.”

Known Agenda stands at Spendthrift Farm, where he enters his second season in 2023 for $10,000.

MGISW Divisidero’s First Foal is a Colt

Airdrie Stud's Divisidero (Kitten's Joy–Madame Du Lac, by Lemon Drop Kid) was recently represented by his first reported foal, a colt born at Airdrie. The chestnut colt was produced by Always Tomorrow (Badge of Silver), a winning full-sister to GISW Bigger Picture.

“He's leggy and strong with good depth through the shoulder, all the things that you want to see in a newborn foal. We are very pleased,” said Cormac Breathnach, Airdrie's Director of Stallion Nominations. “He is chestnut with two socks and a blaze, so you can really see the Kitten's Joy influence coming through. Mr. [Brereton C.] Jones is continuing to support Divisidero with some very nice mares and this is the kind of foal to embolden that faith.”

Divisidero was a graded stakes winner all five years he raced, highlighted by victories in back-to-back runnings of the GI Woodford Reserve Turf Classic. He stands at Airdrie for a 2021 fee of $5,000, stands and nurses.

Champion Mitole’s First Foal is a Colt

Spendthrift Farm's Mitole (Eskendereya-Indian Miss, by Indian Charlie) was represented by his first foal when a colt was born at Ballyrankin Stud near Lexington. The colt, bred by Jeff Ganje and out of Kiss Mine (Mineshaft), was reported as born Jan. 23. Kiss Mine captured six black-type wins and was multiple graded placed during her racing campaign.

“He's a very attractive, good-sized colt with a nice hip and a lot of quality,” said Sally Lockhart of Ballyrankin Stud. “I'm very pleased with him.”

Mitole was named Eclipse champion sprinter for 2019 during a season that netted four Grade I victories, including the Breeders' Cup Sprint, the Met Mile, the Forego S., and the Churchill Downs S. The earner of over $3.1 million raced in the colors of Bill and Corinne Heiligbrodt before retiring to Spendthrift for the 2020 season. He covered 230 mares last year, the second-highest number for a freshman of 2020 behind only his studmate Vino Rosso (Curlin), who was also recently represented by his first foal.

Mitole will stand the 2021 breeding season for $15,000, stands and nurses terms.
