GISW Olympiad to Stand at Gainesway

Grandview Equine, Cheyenne Stable and LNJ Foxwoods' Olympiad (Speightstown–Tokyo Time, Medaglia d'Oro) will take up stallion duties at Gainesway Farm upon his retirement from racing. To date, Olympiad has won eight of 12 career starts, including five graded stakes victories, highlighted by the GI Jockey Club Gold Cup. Having already amassed over $2-million in earnings, the 4-year-old is expected to make his next start in the GI Breeders' Cup Classic at Keeneland next month.

Trained by Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott, Olympiad captured five graded victories this season, beginning with the GIII Mineshaft S. at Fair Grounds, where he set a track record for 1 1/16 miles. He followed up at the same track with a two-length score in the GII New Orleans Classic S. before adding a pair of wins at Churchill Downs in the GII Alysheba S. and the GII Stephen Foster S.

Bred by Emory Hamilton, Olympiad is out of the Grade III-place Tokyo Time. This is the immediate family of Grade I winner and foundation mare Chic Shirine, from whom 20 graded stakes winners descend. He was purchased from the Gainesway consignment as a yearling for $700,000 by Solis/Litt.

“I have been a huge fan of Olympiad since selling him as a yearling in 2019,” said Gainesway General Manager Brian Graves. “Olympiad has backed up his exceptional looks and pedigree with a tremendous race record. I couldn't be more excited to stand a horse of his quality and talent at Gainesway.”

An advertised fee for Olympiad's first season will be announced at a later date.

Collusion Illusion and Tamarkuz to Stand at Ballcroy Bloodstock for 2023

GI Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile winner Tamarkuz (Speightstown–Without You Babe, by Lemon Drop Kid) and GISW Collusion Illusion (Twirling Candy–Natalie Grace, by First Dude) will stand at Ballcroy Bloodstock in Ontario for 2023.

Collusion Illusion captured five of 13 races with three of those wins coming in graded events. His career high was a win in the GI Bing Crosby S. and he earned over $480,000. He will stand for $6,000.

“Collusion Illusion is an exciting stallion prospect, and we are thrilled to have him standing in Ontario,” said Ballycroy Director of Bloodstock Michaela Kemp. “He is a great addition to our stallion roster, and we look forward to filling his first book of mares this season.”

Tamarkuz, who is in his third year at stud, won eight of 20 races and earned over $1.8 million. He concluded his career with a victory in the 2016 BC Dirt Mile and will stand for $4,000.

“Tamarkuz has been well supported in Kentucky by Shadwell and their mares,” said Kemp. “We are looking forward to seeing his progeny progress more on the track with time as the Speightstowns do.”

Constitution Leads WinStar ’23 Roster

With Constitution leading the way at $110,000, WinStar Farm has released the 2023 stud fees for its stallion roster. Constitution, the sire of eight individual runners who have earned 100+ Beyers in 2022, has been represented this year by GIII Peter Pan S. winner 'TDN Rising Star' We the People, GIII Distaff H. winner Glass Ceiling, GIII Greenwood Cup S. winner Ridin With Biden and GIII San Juan Capistrano S. winner Breakpoint (Chi). He was also responsible for a pair of seven-figure yearlings at the Keeneland September sale. Constitution stood the 2022 season at $85,000.

WinStar Farm's roster will be bolstered next year by the addition of multiple Grade I winner and fellow 'Rising Star' Life is Good (Into Mischief), who will stand his first season at $100,000, pending results of the upcoming Breeders' Cup championships.

Also new to the roster in 2023 is track-record setting Nashville (Speightstown), yet another 'Rising Star' who will stand for $15,000. His sire Speightstown will stand for $80,000, down from $90,000 in 2022.

“We are excited about our roster for 2023, and feel we offer a range of quality horses and value to all breeders,” said Elliott Walden, president, CEO, and racing manager for WinStar Farm. “We will also be offering a limited number of seasons to Life Is Good before the Breeders' Cup Classic.”

The WinStar roster also includes: Audible, $25,000; Improbable, $25,000; Always Dreaming, $10,000; Global Campaign, $10,000; Independence Hall, $10,000; Outwork, $10,000; Take Charge Indy, $10,000; Tom's d'Etat, $10,000; Yoshida (Jpn), $10,000; Good Samaritan, $7,500; Paynter, $7,500; Promises Fulfilled, $5,000; and Tourist, TBD.

Stallions will be available for showings at WinStar's Open House, Nov. 7-15, during the Keeneland November Sale.

Bidding Now Open for Fasig-Tipton October Digital Selected Sale

Fasig-Tipton has catalogued 30 entries for its October Digital Selected Sale, which may now be viewed at digital.fasigtipton.com. Bidding is officially open and will close Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. ET.

The catalogue offers selected horses of racing age and breeding stock.

“The October Digital catalogue includes another first for our digital platform – the opportunity to purchase a 50% interest in a Breeders' Cup-bound undefeated 2-year-old filly,” said Leif Aaron, Director of Digital Sales. “Showgirl Lynne B is now a winner of all three of her starts–including a stakes win–and is pointing for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf next.”

“Buyers will also find good quality among the breeding stock entries, at a time of year when breeders are beginning to make their 2023 mating plans,” Aaron added.

Entries catalogued include:

Olive Branch (Hip 6): Young daughter of Speightstown was a debut winner at two at Belmont and graded stakes placed in the GII Adirondack S. at Saratoga. She's a half-sister to graded stakes winner Moonlight d'Oro, and out of a full-sister to graded stakes winner Wilburn. She's offered in foal to Bolt d'Oro, current co-leading first crop sire by black-type stakes winners and black-type stakes performers.

Showgirl Lynne B – 50% Interest (Hip 9): A 2-year-old daughter of Constitution from the family of champion Escena, she's a winner of three races in three starts on both turf and synthetic, including the Sharp Susan S. at Gulfstream. She is pointing for the Breeders' Cup next, with a first preference of the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.

Ulikeapples (Hip 15): Three-year-old racing/broodmare prospect impressively won allowance race on turf at Monmouth on Sept. 17, earning at 12 Ragozin figure. She is next entered to run in the Honey Bee S. this Friday at the Meadowlands. By Nyquist, she is out of graded stakes winner Richiegirlgonewild. She is a half-sister to stakes winner Super Allison, the dam of Bernabreezy, a stakes placed three-year-old filly this year.
