2022 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event Will Host Para Dressage And Para Jumping Demonstrations

The Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by MARS Equestrian (LRK3DE) will host demonstrations in Para Dressage and Para Jumping when it returns to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY, April 28-May 1, 2022.

Organized by Equestrian Events Inc. (EEI), the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by MARS Equestrian™ features one of only seven annual Five Star three-day events in the world as well as the $225,000 Kentucky CSI3* Invitational Grand Prix presented by Hagyard Equine Medical Institute. Known as “The Best Weekend All Year,” the event annually attracts more than 80,000 spectators who also enjoy extensive shopping, a variety of hospitality experiences and a wide array of demonstrations.

This year's demonstrations will include Para Dressage, the only equestrian sport in the Paralympic Games, and the emerging sport of Para Jumping. Working with EEI in organizing the demonstrations are Para Dressage rider Rebecca Hart, who has competed in four consecutive Paralympic Games, and Wren Blae Zimmerman, a blind Jumping rider who competes in USEF-recognized competitions and has the ultimate goal of helping Jumping become a Paralympic sport.

“We are incredibly excited to host demonstrations in both Para Dressage and Para Jumping,” said Mike Cooper, president of the board of Equestrian Events, Inc. (EEI). “What Rebecca Hart and Wren Blae Zimmerman do as riders is incredibly impressive and an inspiration to anyone faced with physical or other challenges. We are thrilled to join with them in presenting demonstrations of their sports at our event!

Each demonstration will feature 2-3 riders and demonstrations in both disciplines will be held on Friday and Saturday in both the Walnut Arena and Rolex Stadium. Both will also be featured as part of Sunday's Opening Ceremonies. Hart, as a Paralympic veteran, will also appear as part of “Champions Live!” a discussion panel held annually at LRK3DE that features U.S. equestrian champions from each Olympic/Paralympic discipline.

“I'm both thrilled and incredibly appreciative to EEI for the opportunity to introduce Para Jumping to the United States at an event as prestigious and well-attended as the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event,” said Zimmerman. “I hope to contribute to the growth and accessibility of horse sport by empowering change within the equestrian community. The short-term goal is for Para Jumping to become an officially recognized discipline which will ultimately help establish greatly needed resources, pathways, and competition opportunities for riders with disabilities to participate in the jumping disciplines.”

The Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event is a thrilling multi-day competition featuring Olympic-level riders and horses in what can best be described as an equestrian triathlon. Horse and rider pairs compete in three phases of the competition – Dressage, Cross-Country and Show Jumping – for $375,000 in prize money. Two distinct Eventing competitions are held, a CCI5*-L and a CCI4*-S. LRK3DE is the longest-running Five Star event in the Americas and as the United States' premier event, it also serves as the Land Rover/USEF CCI-5*-L Eventing National Championship presented by MARS Equestrian for the U.S. athletes.

Santa Anita’s Free Online ‘Showvivor’ Handicapping Challenge Returns With $5,000 Prize Money

Santa Anita's popular free online “Showvivor” marks its return on opening day, Saturday, Dec. 26, with a new Total Win Earnings category and a Monthly Contest provision which will be included in the existing season-long total prize money awarded of $5,000.

With special early first post on opening day pegged at 11 a.m., the contest offers fans a variety of cash incentives, highlighted by the $2,500 top prize, which will be awarded to the longest “Show Streak” over the course of the entire Winter/Spring season which culminates on June 20.

Registration at showvivor.santaanita.com is free and easy and Showvivor participants can select one horse from one race each racing day. That horse must run no worse than third in order for the player to “Showvive.” If the player's selection fails to run 1-2-3, that individual is not totally eliminated, as he or she may start up a new streak the next racing day. The player with the longest “Show Streak” on June 20 will be declared the top prize winner of $2,500.

The longest “Show Streak” is just one of five separate says to win beginning Dec. 26.

SHOW STREAK The player that has the longest “show” or no-worse than third place finish streak at the end of the Winter/Spring Meet will win the Grand Prize of $2,500. Players are advised that if they fail to make an online selection on a given day, their streak is still alive, but they will not receive credit for any days missed.

WIN STREAK This carries a $1,000 prize and is intended to reward players who have selected the most consecutive first place finishers. If a player fails to make a selection on a given day, his or her streak may continue, but the player will not receive credit for any days missed.

TOTAL WINS On closing day, June 20, the player that has selected the most total wins will receive a $500 prize.

HIGHEST SINGLE WIN PAYOUT This carries a $500 prize and will be awarded to the player with the single highest win payout (on a Two Dollar wager) over the course of the entire meet.

TOTAL WIN EARNINGS This is a new Showvivor category which carries a prize of $500 and is awarded to the player that accumulates the highest total dollar amount-won based on their selections at the end of the meet. For example, each time an entrant's selection finishes in first place in the official standings (Wins), the dollar amount, based on Santa Anita's official Two Dollar Win payout, will be added to that player's total money-won to date. The winner will be determined on closing day.

MONTHLY CONTEST, NEW WAY TO WIN Separated into five different date ranges, beginning Dec. 26 through Jan. 31, and ending June 4 through June 20, the winner, by Total Monthly Win Earnings, of each of these individual calendar periods earns an entry into the next $500 Live Money Handicapping Contest via Xpressbet and thus an opportunity to compete for more cash and prizes. No exchanges are offered.

Entries for opening day, Saturday, Dec. 26, will be taken this Monday, Dec. 21. For additional information on ShowVivor, please visit santaanita.com or call (626) 574-RACE.

Santa Anita’s Free Online Showvivor Contest Returns During Autumn Meet

With $5,000 in total prize money at stake, Santa Anita's popular “Showvivor” free online betting contest is set to return for the track's 18-day Autumn Meet, which opens on Saturday, Sept. 19.

Showvivor requires players to select one horse in one race each day they play, and that horse must finish no worse than third in order for the player to remain “alive.” A top prize of $2,500 will be awarded to the longest “show streak” achieved throughout the course of the meet, which will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 25.

Showvivor participants will not be eliminated if their selection finishes off the board. Instead, they will be able to begin a new streak the next racing day—with the eventual top prize going to the player with the longest streak.

Including the longest “show streak,” contestants will have five separate ways to win beginning Sept. 19:

SHOW STREAK: The player with the longest “show” or no worse than third place finish streak at the end of the meet will win the Grand Prize of $2,500. Players are advised to note that if they fail to make an online selection on a given day, their streak is still alive but they

will not receive credit for days missed.

WIN STREAK: This carries a $1,000 prize and is intended to reward players who have selected the most consecutive first place finishers. If a player fails to make a selection on a given day, his or her streak may continue, but the player will not receive credit for any days missed.

TOTAL WINS: At the end of the meet, the top player with the most total wins will take a $500 cash prize.

TOTAL PLACES: This also carries a cash prize of $500 and rewards the player that selects the most total “places” or second place finishes.

WIN PAYOUT: At the end of the meet, the player who has tabbed the highest single day win payout will be awarded a $500 cash prize.

Players are encouraged to sign up as early as possible at santaanita.com/showvivor, although registration will be available after Sept. 19. As in years past, daily online selections must be made no later than 10 minutes prior to first post time, which will be at 12:30 p.m. each racing day.
