Giverny (Tapit) makes her first start here for Bill Mott and owner/breeder Alpha Delta Stable. She was being carried by her SW and MGSP dam Oscar Party (Dixie Union) when Jon Clay's operation purchased that one for $1.9 million at the 2017 Keeneland November sale. Giverny is the half-sister to MGISW Room Service (More Than Ready)'s second foal–a year-older Tapit colt RNA'd for $675,000 at the same KEENOV renewal.

Chad Brown pupil Goodnight Olive (Ghostzapper), a $170,000 Fasig-Tipton October yearling, is out of MGSW miler Salty Strike (Smart Strike). Sierra Farm homebred Mischiefful (Into Mischief) was second on debut to Goodnight Olive's well-regarded stablemate Boston Post Road (Quality Road) here Feb. 7. She's a daughter of MSW/GSP Shannon Nicole (Majestic Warrior). Likely longshot A Higher Love (Sky Mesa) didn't do much running in a rained-off race at Aqueduct Nov. 27, but she sports an upbeat local tab of late and gets first-time Lasix and blinkers. The dark bay Is half to GISW grasser Carrick (Giant's Causeway). TJCIS PPs

Baffert vs. McCarthy in Santa Ysabel

Sunday's five-horse GIII Santa Ysabel S. features runners from just two barns, with Hall of Famer Bob Baffert represented by three fillies and Mike McCarthy saddling the other two. Baffert-trained Kalypso (Brody's Cause) stands out on speed figures, and boasts a two-back victory in the GII Santa Ynez S. sprinting here Jan. 3. Also a winner of the six-panel Anoakia S. here last October, the $240,000 Fasig-Tipton July buy was last seen finishing second as a front-running favorite in the one-mile GIII Las Virgenes S. Feb. 6. Baoma Corp. homebred Beautiful Gift (Medaglia d'Oro) was third, one spot behind Kalypso, in a Del Mar maiden special weight in September. She's been off since breaking through over track and trip Oct. 23. Heels Up (Twirling Candy) most recently finished third in Del Mar's Desi Arnaz S. sprinting in November.

McCarthy pupil Moraz (Empire Maker) aired by 11 lengths over this strip at second asking Jan. 8, and was one spot behind Kalypso in the Las Virgenes. A Real Hero (Exaggerator) adds blinkers off a third-out Golden Gate graduation going two turns Feb. 15.

Pletcher Filly Looks to Earn Black-Type Badge in FL Oaks

Starlight Racing's Jouster (Noble Mission {GB}) looks to secure her first black-type victory Saturday in the GIII Florida Oaks at Tampa. Unsuccessful in her first two attempts on dirt, the bay graduated by 8 3/4 lengths when switched to the turf going two turns at Gulfstream Jan. 10. The 'TDN Rising Star' took the field wire-to-wire next out over the same track and trip Feb. 7, earning an 84 Beyer Speed Figure, two points below her maiden-breaking figure.

It is no surprise that the biggest competition to the Todd Pletcher trainee comes from the Chad Brown barn in Domain Expertise (Kitten's Joy). Earning her diploma at third asking over this course and distance Dec. 5, the chestnut checked in third in Gulfstream's GIII Sweetest Chant S. Jan. 30 and receives Lasix for the first time here.

The undefeated Oyster Box (Tapit) looks to take her career to the next level here. A debut winner sprinting at Belmont Oct. 3, the chestnut scored a decisive win in a one-mile optional claimer at this venue Jan. 6.

Sun Path Seeks Redemption in Honeybee

'TDN Rising Star' Sun Path (Munnings) looks to rebound from an off-the-board finish as the favorite in the Silverbulletday S. last time out in Saturday's GIII Honeybee S. at Oaklawn. Graduating at second asking at Churchill Downs Nov. 8, the chestnut dominated by 12 3/4 lengths next out in a two-turn allowance at Fair Grounds Dec. 18. The Juddmonte homebred was heavily favored next out in that venue's Silverbulletday Jan. 16, but tired to fourth.

Will's Secret (Will Take Charge) took some time to come around, but may be hitting her best stride at the right time. Graduating at fourth asking in off-the-turf event going a route of ground at Fair Grounds Dec. 20, the dark bay romped by 5 1/4 lengths in a muddy renewal of Oaklawn's Martha Washington S. Jan.30.

Ken McPeek saddles an intriguing contender in Oliviaofthedesert (Bernardini). Third to the re-opposing Coach (Commissioner) in the Rags to Riches S. at Churchill Oct. 25, the gray captured an optional claimer at Churchill Nov. 28 and came from off the pace to take the Trapeze S. at Remington Dec. 18.
