Courtlandt Farms purchased Whocouldaskformo (Uncle Mo) for $450,000 at last year's Keeneland September Sale. She debuts for Shug McGaughey alongside fellow firster and workmate, Very Practical (Practical Joke).

Whocouldaskformo's dam Midnight Belle (Bernardini) is a half-sister to GI Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic heroine Unrivaled Belle (Unbridled's Song), who went to Whisper Hill Farm at the 2016 Keeneland November Sale for $3.6 million while in foal to Tapit. She produced two-time champion Unique Bella (Tapit). Midnight Belle is also a half-sister the dam of GIII Gotham S. hero Raise Cain (Violence). TJCIS PPS

Beneath her second dam Shaconage (El Prado {Ire}) is the dam of several Chilean Group and stakes runners including GSW & G1SP Jacare (Chi) (Lookin At Lucky) as well as GSP La Jardinera (Chi) (Verrazano).

To her far outside is the pair of homebreds Scandalous (Mastery) and Spinning Class (Twirling Candy). The former is a Pletcher trainee who will carry the colors of co-breeder and co-owners Bass Stables. Cheyenne Stables bought into the filly out of a half-sister to MSW Pickapocket (Mecke); GSW & GISP Wild At Heart (Indian Charlie) and that one's full-sister GSP Visavis. Spinning Class hails from the venerable Janney operation, owned by Stuart S. In this continuing series, we take a look ahead at US-bred and/or conceived runners entered for the upcoming weekend at the tracks on the Japan Racing Association circuit, with a focus on pedigree and/or performance in the sales ring. Indy) and will try to give her outstanding young sire a 10th Japanese winner. Rags To Riches is a half-sister to fellow GI Belmont S. winner Jazil (Seeking the Gold) as well as Casino Drive (Mineshaft), who won the GII Peter Pan S. in this country and the G1 February S. at home. The Justify cross over Galileo (Ire) is responsible for champion City of Troy, Grade II winner Buchu and Irish Group 3 winner Red Riding Hood. B-Oiwake Farm

TAISEI REAL (JPN) (c, 2, Arrogate–Lafta, by Kitten's Joy) is the first to race out of a stakes-winning half-sister to MSW/MGSP Mamdooha (Daaher), who was acquired by Shimokobe Farm for $375,000 at the 2019 Keeneland November Sale and put in foal to this sire prior to shipping to Japan. PEAK COLOR (JPN) (f, 2, Constitution–Stephanie's Sister, by Kitten's Joy) is the first produce from a full-sister to five-time Grade I winner Stephanie's Kitten and was purchased by Koichiro Yamaguchi for $350,000 in utero at the 2020 Keeneland November Sale. Stephanie's Sister is also kin to the talented MGSW Heywoods Beach (Speightstown), and the filly's third dam was the outstanding Ramsey Grade I-winning turf distaffer Bail Out Becky (Red Ransom). ILANA (JPN) (f, 2, Palace Malice–Irisa {Arg}, by Pure Prize) tries to add to the recent purple patch for this sire, responsible for recent Group 2 winner Jantar Mantar (Jpn) and Noble Roger, a debut winner last weekend. Friday Insights: Expensive Curlin Colt Debuts for Courtlandt at the Big A

CORPORATE POWER (Curlin) is the second foal to race out of Road to Victory (Quality Road), winner of the GII Golden Rod S. at two and placed in the GII Mother Goose S. the next season. The mare was acquired by Stonestreet for $1.45 million in foal to War Front at the 2019 Fasig-Tipton November Sale, and while that debut-winning colt Willakenzie was bought back for $575,000 at Keeneland September, Corporate Power was hammered down to Don Adam's Courtlandt Farm for $925,000 at the same auction last fall. The female family includes Group 1 winner Moanin (Henny Hughes), current leading freshman sire in Japan by winners with 35. Juddmonte homebred Sardis (Into Mischief) is a half-brother to GIII Cecil B. DeMille S. winner Verbal (Flintshire {GB}) and GSP Toledo (Into Mischief) and is out of a half-sister to MSW/MGSP Seismic Wave (Tapit) and to the dam of this year's G3 Ballyroan S. runner-up Valiant King (GB) (Roaring Lion). A May 18 foal, the bay looks to become the third winner from as many to the races for the owner's Princess Violet (Officer), who was second to Untapable (Tapit) in the 2014 GI Mother Goose S. and posted a career-best effort in taking the 2015 GI Madison S. at Keeneland.
