ELUCIDATOR (c, 3, Hard Spun–Empire City {Jpn}, by Empire Maker) is out of an unraced half-sister to the outstanding dual Group 1-winning Japanese dirt horse Espoir City (Jpn) (Gold Allure {Jpn}), who was purchased by Hakurei Farm's Akira Katayama for $300K in foal to American Pharoah at Keeneland November in 2017. This early April produce is bred on the same cross as GI Met Mile hero and new Claiborne stallion Silver State and on a similar cross to GISW Smooth Roller. WING HAVEN (JPN) (f, 3, Arrogate–Money'soncharlotte, by Mizzen Mast) is the first foal from her dam, a $135K KEESEP yearling who went on to win the GIII Molly Pitcher S. and place in the GI Beldame S. for George and Lori Hall before selling for $625K to Katsumi Yoshida with this filly in utero at KEENOV in 2018. Money'soncharlotte is the dam of a yearling filly by two-time Horse of the Year Kitasan Black (Jpn) and is due to Lord Kanaloa (Jpn). B-Shunsuke Yoshida

7th-NKY, ¥14,670,000 ($129k), Allowance, 4yo/up, 1200m
SCATTER SEED (JPN) (f, 4, Uncle Mo–Scatladybdancing, by Scat Daddy) made two trips to the post last term over this trip at Niigata, a near-miss second July 24 before graduating when last seen Aug. 7. Haruya Yoshida acquired the filly's Illinois-bred stakes-placed dam, a full-sister to SW Ultima D, for $390K with this foal in utero at KEENOV in 2017. Scatter Seed's yeay-younger half-brother Hearts As One (Jpn) (Heart's Cry {Jpn}), second on debut Dec. 28, goes in a Saturday maiden over 2000 meters on turf at Kokura. This is also the deeper family of top young sire No Nay Never (Scat Daddy). B-Oiwake Farm

Galileo's Song is out of Song to Remember (Storm Cat), who fetched $1.6 million in foal to Tiznow at Fasig-Tipton November in 2006 not long after her daughter Magnificent Song (Unbridled's Song) came from last to win the GI Garden City Breeders' Cup S. in New York. SCATTER SEED (JPN) (f, 3, Uncle Mo–Scatladybdancing, by Scat Daddy), a distant sixth on Tokyo debut in a single juvenile appearance, cut back in trip for a course-and-distance test and just missed when last seen July 24. The filly's stakes-placed dam, a full-sister to SW Ultima D, was acquired for $390K with the filly in utero at KEENOV in 2017. The filly hails from an active female family, as Include Betty is the half-sister to Gagetown (Exaggerator), narrow winner of the June 4 Prairie Mile and a latest third in the Iowa Derby July 2. The third dam includes GISW My Trusty Cat (Tale of the Cat) and GSP Entrustment (Forestry). B-Northern Racing

8th-HAK, ¥14,360,000 ($131k), Allowance, 3yo/up, 2000mT
AIR SAGE (c, 3, Point of Entry–Nokaze, by Empire Maker), a half-brother to GSW and $1.6-million earner Air Almas (Majestic Warrior), made an enormous debut impression when scoring over this trip at Chukyo Jan. 5 (see below, gate 10) before finishing a close fifth when tried over 2400 meters Feb. 7. Produced by a half-sister to SW Yuzuru (Medaglia d'Oro) and from the deeper female family of Devil's Bag and Saint Ballado, Air Sage will be ridden by Christophe Lemaire, who currently holds a 22-win lead atop the JRA jockeys' premiership. The February foal’s third dam includes GSW Cat’s Career (Mr. Prospector) as well as Cat’s Eye Witness (Elusive Quality), the dam of Scat Daddy’s outstanding young sire son No Nay Never, who was second to the fast-finishing Bobby’s Kitten (Kitten’s Joy) in the 2014 GII Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at Santa Anita. A half-brother to SW Cruise and Danz (Street Boss), the dark bay is out of a half-sister to SW & GSP Fight On (Into Mischief) and his third dam includes MGSW Royal Haven (Hail Emperor) and GSW & GISP Belterra (Unbridled). 11th-TOK, Keio Hai Nisai S.-G2, ¥72m ($696k), 2yo, 1400mT
REFRAME (f, 2, American Pharoah–Careless Jewel, by Tapit) carries a mark of two-for-two and returns on just 13 days’ rest for her stakes debut Saturday. The $410K KEESEP yearling remarkably won her first career start July 25 despite drifting all the way to the outside, was given intensive retraining in the meantime, and resumed with an eye-catching five-length allowance success over this course and distance Oct. 25 (see below, gate 6). The daughter of the pensioned GI Alabama S. winner Careless Jewel is one of five fillies in the field of 18. B-Summer Wind Equine LLC (KY)
