Additional Supplements for Keeneland’s HRA Sale

Keeneland will supplement 13 additional horses, including a dozen 2-year-olds, to its November Horses of Racing Age Sale, which will be held Thursday, Nov. 17, at noon ET. The supplements will all be on site for inspection Wednesday. The total number of horses catalogued for the HRA portion is 356.

Among the highlights of the new supplements is an unnamed colt by Good Magic who is a half-brother to recent Japanese GSP Lemon Pop (Lemon Drop Kid). From the family of Danehill, the colt is consigned by Highgate Sales, agent, as a racing or stallion prospect.

An unnamed colt by Into Mischief out of SW Distorted Passion (Distorted Humor) and a half-brother to GSW Mrs McDougal (Medaglia d'Oro) and SP Pendleton (Giant's Causeway) has also been consigned by Highgate Sales, agent, as a racing or stallion prospect.

Highgate Sales, agent, also has an unnamed colt by Into Mischief out of GSW Ever So Clever (Medaglia d'Oro). His granddam is MSW Foxy Danseur (Mr. Greeley) and he also is a racing or stallion prospect.

Among Highgate Sales's other 2-year-old offerings as racing or stallion prospects are colts by Into Mischief, Mendelssohn, Quality Road, and War Front. Highgate also has an unnamed 2-year-old filly by Practical Joke as a racing or broodmare prospect who is a half-sister to five stakes performers.

Grovendale Sales, agent, has the lone new supplement that isn't a juvenile. Grovendale has consigned Takntothecleaners (Secret Circle), a 4-year-old filly who has won or placed in eight of 10 career starts, including an allowance victory at Horseshoe Indianapolis Sept. 22 in her last start. She hails from the family of GISW Bordeaux Bob (Dewan Keys).

Fasig-Tipton’s NY-Bred Catalogue Available

Fasig-Tipton, which this week released the catalogue for its select Saratoga Sale, has also made the New York-Bred Yearlings catalogue available. The sale has 283 yearlings entered for the Aug. 14-15 event, which will take place in the Humphrey S. Finney Pavilion in Saratoga. The Sunday session will begin at 7 p.m. with the Monday session scheduled for noon.

“The New York-Bred Yearlings sale annually offers the best of the New York-bred crop, and this year's catalogue is very strong in terms of sire power and quality individuals,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. “Over $60 million will be distributed in purse money, incentives, and awards for New York-breds this year. In addition, there are new purse enhancements and incentives for the New York Stallion Stakes Series and New York-Sired bonus programs that will go into effect next year. Fasig-Tipton’s July Sale Catalogue Released

The catalogue for The July Sale at Fasig-Tipton will feature 302 selected yearlings and has been published online. The July Sale will be held Tuesday, July 12 at Newtown Paddocks in Lexington, beginning at 10 a.m.

“We look forward to leading off yearling sales season with another strong July catalogue of precocious, athletic yearlings,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. “The sale will begin with the Freshman Sire Showcase–a tremendous success last year following its reintroduction–and then transition into the more proven sire-laden segment of the catalogue. We have very strong representation from leading general sires this year.”

The catalogue cover for the sale features recent graduates of both the July Sale and 2020 Selected Yearlings Showcase, Fasig-Tipton's only selected yearling sale in Kentucky that year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fasig graduates and GISWs Kalypso (Brody's Cause), Cyberknife (Gun Runner), Grace Adler (Curlin), and Jack Christopher (Munnings) are prominently displayed on the front cover.

“July is the sale to find athletes and the stats bear that out,” said Browning. “Moreover, one only needs to look at this year's catalogue cover to see the strength of graduates generated from Fasig-Tipton's yearling selection process.”

In addition to The July Sale, Fasig-Tipton will also host the July Selected Horses of All Ages Sale Monday, July 11. The sale was recently rebranded to include breeding stock. Nominations are accepted up until sale time.

As well as online at Fasig-Tipton's site, The July Sale catalogue may also be viewed via the Equineline catalogue app. Print catalogues will be available by June 17.

During the first part of last year’s sale, 524 weanlings grossed €25,721,800, with an average of €49,087 and a median of €30,000. Topping the sale was a full-brother to Ghaiyyath, who went to Godolphin on a bid of €1.2 million.

We pride ourselves on providing excellence for all buyers whatever their budget. In this year like no other, we have taken great heart from the fact that Irish foal vendors have overwhelmingly maintained their support of the November Foal Sale with drafts of real depth, diversity and quality.

“We look forward to welcoming vendors and purchasers back to Kildare Paddocks. The November Foal Sale is dominated by Irish buyers while we are also working to ensure the attendance of valued foal purchasers from the UK and further afield along with key international end-users. In addition, Goffs Online will allow participation from all corners of the globe as international buyers link in with agents on the ground to chase the best foals on offer.”
