Tattersalls December Foal Sale Catalog Now Online

The catalog for the Tattersalls December Foal Sale is online now at www.tattersalls.com and will be available from Tattersalls and Tattersalls representatives on Oct. 23. Numbering 934 lots, the December Foal Sale will take place Wednesday, Nov. 25 to Saturday, Nov. 28.

Europe's premier foal sale boasts an outstanding catalog, with 135 foals by the current top 20 active British and Irish sires including Camelot, Dark Angel, Dubawi, Exceed and Excel, Fastnet Rock, Frankel, Kingman, Kodiac, Invincible Spirit, Lope de Vega, Pivotal, Sea the Stars, Teofilo, and Zoffany.

The catalog also features own and half brothers and sisters to 121 group and listed winners headed by the Dubawi half-brother to champion Irish 2-year-old filly Skitter Scatter and siblings to an array of this year's star juveniles, including Alkumait, Minzaal, Nando Parrado, Pretty Gorgeous, and The Lir Jet. There are 86 foals out of group and listed winning mares cataloged including a colt out of the dual Group 1 winner La Collina by champion Australian sire Zoustar, who will be represented by 23 foals from his first Northern Hemisphere crop.

As ever, first-crop sires feature prominently with a total of 26 represented including classic and Group 1 winners Cracksman, Expert Eye, Harry Angel, Havana Grey, Hawkbill, Jungle Cat, Lightning Spear, Poet's Word, Roaring Lion, Saxon Warrior, Sioux Nation, US Navy Flag, and Unfortunately.

French-based sires also feature prominently with leading stallions Kendargent, Le Havre, Siyouni, and the recently relocated Wootton Bassett well represented alongside Group 1 winning first-crop sires Mekhtaal and Recoletos and a sole representative of the multiple Grade 1 winning U.S. based sire Oscar Performance.

The largest consignment is the team of 32 foals coming from Richard Kent's Mickley Stud, closely followed by the 29 to come from The Castlebridge Consignment and 27 from Norelands Stud. Tweenhills Farm and Stud which topped the 2019 December Foal Sale with the Frankel colt first foal out of the outstanding classic winner Simple Verse, has a team of 23 foals.

Catalog For Fasig-Tipton November Sale Now Online

Fasig-Tipton has cataloged 264 entries for The November Sale, the company's selected mixed sale to be held in Lexington, Ky. on Sunday, Nov. 8. The single-session sale will begin at 2 p.m.

“The Fasig-Tipton November Sale has become an important event in the industry, showcasing the best of our sport in an electric atmosphere,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. “We are pleased to have once again assembled a very special catalogue to present to buyers the afternoon and evening following the Breeders' Cup.”

“The sale will begin with 159 selected weanlings, our largest group in recent memory,” continued Browning. “We will then move into a deep collection of racing and broodmare prospects and in foal mares. Forty-five graded stakes winners or producers are cataloged, 24 of which are Grade 1 winners, Grade 1 producers, or champions.”

The catalog may now be viewed online, including Fasig-Tipton's popular, one-of-a-kind Enhanced Catalog which has been updated for 2020.

The Enhanced Catalog provides up-to-date catalog pages, Daily Racing Form past performances, and race replays; an Alan Porter pedigree analysis and five-cross pedigrees for all racing/broodmare prospects and broodmares; stallion register pages for all sires of weanlings and covering sires; as well as other tools to aid prospective buyers. All Grade 1 winning females off the racetrack or carrying their first foals are also profiled with individual feature videos.

Print catalogs will be available beginning Oct. 14. The catalog will also be available via the Equineline sales catalogue app.

Online bidding and phone bidding will be available.

The November Sale will also offer a supplemental catalog once again. Fasig-Tipton will accept selected entries for the supplement through the Breeders' Cup.

Keeneland Catalogs 3,777 Horses For November Breeding Stock Sale

Keeneland has cataloged 3,777 horses for the 2020 November Breeding Stock Sale, which opens Monday, Nov. 9, two days after Keeneland hosts the Breeders' Cup World Championships for the second time. Buyers will be able to participate in the auction remotely through online and telephone bidding options successfully introduced at the September Yearling Sale, while the new bidding location at the Show Barn next to the Sales Pavilion again will be available to allow for proper social distancing.

Keeneland's COVID-19 protocols for the November Sale will be similar to those used for the September Sale.

For the November Sale, a total of 1,832 broodmares and broodmare prospects, 1,404 weanlings, 531 horses of racing age and 10 stallions have been cataloged. Keeneland will continue to accept supplemental entries for the premier Book 1 and for the horses of racing age segment of the sale.

The November Sale catalog is online on Keeneland.com. Print catalogs will be mailed Oct. 19.

“The November Sale is a globally important source of premium bloodstock, and the Breeders' Cup at Keeneland immediately beforehand will only heighten the excitement surrounding the sale,” Keeneland President-Elect and Interim Head of Sales Shannon Arvin said. “This year's catalog features a number of unique offerings, led by stakes-winning fillies, among them ones scheduled to compete in the Breeders' Cup, and stakes-producing mares in foal to leading sires. 2020 November Sale schedule

The November Sale will span 10 sessions, two fewer than in 2019. The format is as follows:

Book 1 – Monday, Nov. 9. Session begins at noon ET. A total of 244 horses are cataloged.

All remaining sessions begin at 10 a.m.:

Book 2-6 – Tuesday, Nov. 10 through Wednesday, Nov. 18.

Horses of racing age highlight sessions on Monday, Nov. 16 and Tuesday, Nov. 17. They represent such leading consignors as ELiTE, Lane's End, Paramount Sales, Taylor Made Sales Agency and WinStar Farm.

Keeneland will livestream the entire November Sale at Keeneland.com.

Remote bidding options available

Prospective buyers who attend the November Sale or participate in the auction remotely have a number of ways to prepare. The first step is to register for an account and establish credit within the Keeneland Sales Portal. Keeneland recommends doing so two weeks before the sale.

Remote bidding options at Keeneland sales integrate directly with the live auction experience in real time, just as if a buyer were standing in the Sales Pavilion.

Online bidding: Buyers may watch a real-time video view of the live sale and bid simultaneously from Keeneland's online bidding platform accessible through their accounts in the Keeneland Sales Portal.

Phone bidding: Buyers can use the Keeneland Sales Portal to participate in bidding on horses in the November Sale by phone. Please notify Keeneland at least 24 hours prior to bidding. A Keeneland representative will call back prior to the bidding.

The November Sale is a vibrant marketplace for weanlings and in-foal broodmares with connections to exciting young stallions and successful established sires. Joining the aforementioned Justify as sires with their first weanlings in this year's catalog are 2017 Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming, champions Good Magic and West Coast, and Breeders' Cup winners City of Light and Mendelssohn.

A number of accomplished runners in 2020 were offered at the November Sale as weanlings and horses of racing age.

Leading the runners who were weanlings at the November Sale is Improbable, whose three consecutive Grade 1 wins put him atop the National Thoroughbred Racing Association's Top Thoroughbred Poll as of Sept. 28. Improbable's Grade 1 string covers the Hollywood Gold Cup, Whitney and Awesome Again.

Another standout sold as a weanling at the November Sale is Kentucky Oaks winner Shedaresthedevil.

Nearly 80 Head Consigned to Indiana Fall Mixed Sale, Catalog Now Online

The Indiana Thoroughbred Owner's and Breeder's Association is pleased to announce that the catalog for the ITOBA Fall Mixed Sale is now online with a total of 79 head, including 64 yearlings, one weanling, nine horses of racing age and five broodmares, all in foal.

Normally held at Indiana Grand Racing and Casino, this auction instead will be conducted at the nearby Smith Training Stables located at 8296 N. Michigan Road in Fountaintown, Ind. The sale is set for Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. and it will be run by Duane Swingley Auctioneers.

The majority of racing stock in the sale are Indiana-breds, with many also being Indiana-sired, making them eligible for the lucrative Indiana Thoroughbred Breed Development Program. Many leading Indiana stallions are represented, as well as top regional and national sires.

ITOBA has partnered with American Racehorse magazine to help promote the sale on social media, and in the coming weeks each hip will be individually profiled, with photos included when available. Updates will be posted on ITOBA's Facebook page and Twitter feed at @IndianaTOBA.
