Cheveley Park Field Features Supplements Eve Lodge and Corazon

Mathis Stables LLC's Eve Lodge (GB) (Ardad {Ire}) has been supplemented for £20,000 to the G1 Cheveley Park S. at Newmarket on Sept. 25. A winner of the G3 Sirenia S. over the Kempton all-weather ahead of Wings of War (Ire) (Dark Angel {Ire}) and Hierarchy (Ire) (Mehmas {Ire}), later one-two in the G2 Mill Reef S. on Sept. 18, the filly brings the field to 15 for the six-furlong contest.

Trainer Charlie Fellowes said, “The owners have been brilliant–they've put no pressure on her running but have said we'll see what happens with the weather through the week and go from there.

“I was a bit worried about what she beat at Kempton, but it turns out I need not have been–with them being first and second in the Mill Reef.

“You don't get to run in Cheveley Parks very often. She's a very good filly, we've always felt that, so providing the ground isn't too quick I see no reason why we won't take our chance.

“The rain on Sunday helped, and there is the possibility of showers later in the week.”

Another Cheveley Park S. supplement was George Boughey's Corazon (Ire) (Markaz {Ire}), who saluted in the G3 Prix d'Arenberg on Sept. 2 and was third in the G2 Flying Childers S. on Sept. 10. Boughey will also saddle Thunder Love (GB) (Profitable {Ire}).

The four-for-four Sacred Bridge (GB) (Bated Breath {GB}), who won the G3 Round Tower S., flies the flag for Juddmonte and Ger Lyons. Ismail Mohammed's Zain Claudette (Ire) (No Nay Never) enters on the back of victories in the G3 Princess Margaret S. in July and the G2 Lowther S. in August. Sandrine (GB) (Bobby's Kitten), who won the G2 Duchess Of Cambridge S. and three-time group-placed Desert Dreamer (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}) were second and third, respectively in the Lowther.

Mohammed said, “She's in very good form–we worked her on Monday on the all weather, and she is flying. She's in good nick up to now–we'll work her on grass on Wednesday too. She's changed a lot since the Group 2 and she's doing very, very well.

“You will 100% see her in the Cheveley Park next.”

Group winners Velocidad (GB) (Gleneagles {Ire}), successful in the G2 Airlie Stud S. from the yard of Joseph O'Brien and G3 Prix de Cabourg victress Have A Good Day (Ire) (Adaay {Ire}) have also signed up. Listed winner Flotus (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Ire}) and the winning Tenebrism (Caravaggio) will also take part.

Breeders’ Cup Possible For Sacred Bridge

Friday's G3 Round Tower S. heroine Sacred Bridge (GB) (Bated Breath {GB}), who races in the colours of breeder Juddmonte, is a possible starter in the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, as long as her European campaign concludes in satisfactory fashion, trainer Ger Lyons revealed to the Nick Luck Daily Podcast. The four-for-four bay's next target is the G1 Cheveley Park S. on Sept. 25.

Lyons, who saddled his 1,000th winner on Monday, told the Nick Luck Daily Podcast, “The little filly gave me a 'wow' feeling on Friday–it was her fourth win, but I didn't get a 'wow' off her until Friday. That was a 'wow' performance.

“She literally goes through the motions at home and does what she's done. Every time I've gone to the races I've kept thinking 'is she up to this?', and every time she's produced.

“I love training 2-year-olds, and it's for that reason–you don't know what you're uncovering. It's when they hit the ceiling you go on to the next one, but she's still on the rise.

“Subject to us talking to the [Abdullah] family and everybody being on the same page, that's [Cheveley Park] where you would go with her.”

Sacred Bridge saluted at Naas when unveiled on June 23 and captured Tipperary's Listed Coolmore Ten Sovereigns Tipperary S. just seven days later. A winner of the €300,000 Irish EBF Ballyhane S. on Aug. 2, she was 3 3/4 lengths ahead of her rivals in the Round Tower.

Lyons added, “There's a lot of options open with her, including a trip to the States at the end of the year. If she stays in this form why not, that would have to come into the conversation that we'll be having close to the time.”

Bated Breath’s Sacred Bridge Unbeaten After Round Tower Test

Completing a group 3 double on The Curragh's Friday card for Juddmonte, Ger Lyons and Colin Keane, Sacred Bridge (GB) (Bated Breath {GB}) took her impressive record to four-from-four in emphatic fashion in the Heider Family Stables Round Tower S. Coming into the six-furlong test off professional if less demonstrative displays in the five-furlong Listed Tipperary S. June 30 and the valuable Ballyhane S. at this distance at Naas Aug. 2, the homebred full-sister to Viadera (GB) belied any fears that she had reached an early plateau by raising her game against the strongest opposition she had so far faced. Always travelling strongly tracking Geocentric (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) in second among the main group racing up the centre, the 15-8 favourite strode to the front approaching the two-furlong pole. Staying on powerfully from there, the bay had upstaged that stablemate by 3 3/4 lengths at the line, with the Listed Marwell S. winner Ladies Church (GB) (Churchill {Ire}) adding ballast to the form 3/4 of a length away in third with the fillies dominating. “She was very impressive. We'll freshen her up now and go for the [G1] Cheveley Park [at Newmarket Sept. 25],” Shane Lyons said.

Off the mark by 1 1/2 lengths from the subsequent G2 Debutante S. and G3 Silver Flash S. winner Agartha (Ire) (Caravaggio) on debut over six furlongs at Naas June 23, Sacred Bridge was back in action a week later to take the Tipperary before enjoying a break prior to her success in the Ballyhane. At this stage of her career, her full-sibling had shown distinct promise when finishing runner-up in the G3 Anglesey S. but had trailed in last in the Debutante with all her better days ahead of her. Given that it took until the November of her 4-year-old campaign for Viadera to hit the heights when winning the GI Matriarch S., connections of Sacred Bridge can enjoy considerable optimism that her achievements can be added to in time. “As Colin says, she has to step up again but why wouldn't she,” Shane Lyons added. “She's a diamond and as Ger says, that's what we get up for in the morning. She's push-button and long may she continue like that. She's very relaxed and horses get trips when they are like that. We're delighted with the two fillies. Ger said to Colin the other morning that it wasn't an easy decision the way Geocentric works and she'll step back to five now.”

A more petite version of Viadera, who also annexed the GIII Noble Damsel S., Sacred Bridge is also a half to Crossed Baton (GB) (Dansili {GB}) who captured the Listed Blue Riband Trial and Listed Churchill S. and was runner-up in the G2 Grand Prix de Maisons-Laffitte, G2 Prix Eugene Adam and G3 Hampton Court S. The listed-winning second dam Quandary (Blushing Groom {Fr}) was also responsible for the Listed Lingfield Oaks Trial winner Double Crossed (GB) (Caerleon), who is best known as the dam of the four-times group 1-winning European champion Twice Over (GB) (Observatory). Quandary is also the second dam of the group 1 heroines Passage of Time (GB) (Dansili {GB}) and Timepiece (GB) (Zamindar) related to the G1 Prix du Moulin de Longchamp winner All At Sea (Riverman). Sacred Shield's yearling colt is by Camacho (GB), while she also has a foal full-sister to the winner and Viadera.

Viadera’s Sister Gets Black Type At Tipperary

Sent to Wednesday's Listed Coolmore Ten Sovereigns Tipperary S. just a week after scoring on debut at Naas, Juddmonte's Sacred Bridge (GB) (Bated Breath {GB}) was able to continue the momentum and gain a first black-type success in a race marred by the fatal breakdown suffered by Ballydoyle's Amalfi Coast (Ire) (Showcasing {GB}). Sent off the even-money favourite dropping back from six furlongs to five, the Ger Lyons-trained full sister to last year's GI Matriarch S. heroine Viadera (GB) pursued the early pace and after gaining the advantage passing the furlong pole asserted to score by 1 1/4 lengths from Misty Ayr (Ire) (Kodi Bear {Ire}). Amalfi Coast was well beaten when sustaining the catastrophic injury near the line.

“We have obviously done very little with her and she actually put weight on since and was giving us all the signs she wanted to go back,” Shane Lyons said. “She did that very genuinely and Colin [Keane] loves her temperament. She'll mix and match it between five and six. She has an exciting future. This filly is smaller than Viadera, but has the same temperament and oozes class.”

The aforementioned Viadera captured the Listed Cairn Rouge S. and was runner-up in the G3 Anglesey S. for this stable prior to shipping Stateside to win the Matriarch and the GIII Noble Damsel S. The dam also produced Crossed Baton (GB) (Dansili {GB}), who took the Listed Blue Riband Trial and Listed Churchill S. and was runner-up in the G2 Grand Prix de Maisons-Laffitte, G2 Prix Eugene Adam and G3 Hampton Court S. The listed-winning second dam Quandary (Blushing Groom {Fr}) was also responsible for the Listed Lingfield Oaks Trial winner Double Crossed (GB) (Caerleon) who is best known as the dam of the four-times group 1-winning European champion Twice Over (GB) (Observatory).
