Freshman Sire Expert Eye Off The Mark At Leicester

Banstead Manor Stud's first-crop sire Expert Eye (GB) (Acclamation {GB}) notched his first winner when the Ralph Beckett-trained debutant Sunny Orange (Ire) raced to an ultimately snug victory in Saturday's Madri Excepcional Maiden S. over five furlongs at Leicester. Juddmonte's 70,000gns Tattersalls December Foals acquisition went postward as the well-backed 2-1 second choice for the straight dash and was well away from an outer gate to track the leaders in fifth through the initial fractions. Making smooth headway from halfway, he was ridden to launch his challenge approaching the final furlong and driven out in the latter stages to defeat Al Khazneh (Ire) (Exceed and Excel {Aus}) by 1 1/4 lengths.

Hello You Earns Breeders’ Cup Berth In Rockfel Stakes

Amo Racing Limited's Hello You (IRE) announced herself as one of the best 2-year-old fillies in Europe, as she quickened clear in Friday's Unibet Rockfel Stakes (G2) at Newmarket's Rowley Mile course. Her 1 ½-length success secures a guaranteed start into the US$1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) as part of the Breeders' Cup Challenge Series.

The Breeders' Cup Challenge Series is an international series of stakes races whose winners receive automatic starting positions and fees paid into a corresponding race of the Breeders' Cup World Championships, which will be held at Del Mar racetrack in Del Mar, California, on Nov. 5-6.

Hello You, a bay daughter of Invincible Spirit (IRE) out of the Pivotal (GB) mare Lucrece (GB), won impressively on her debut at Wolverhampton back in May but had been unable to get her head in front in four efforts since. Ridden by her regular partner Rossa Ryan, Hello You sat just off the pace set by the George Boughey-trained pair Oscula (IRE) and Cachet (IRE) before accelerating past them both to give young trainer David Loughnane a second Group 2 success of the season, after Go Bears Go (IRE) claimed the GAIN Railway Stakes (G2) at The Curragh in June.

Hello You moved yards from Ralph Beckett to Loughnane at the start of August and her new trainer acknowledged Beckett's work with the filly.

Loughnane said: “She's strengthened up loads over the last month. She arrived with us from Mr. Beckett's in great order, and we're very privileged and lucky to have a horse of her caliber in the yard. I think she'd go on any ground. I said beforehand that she's a Group horse and deserved a Group win beside her name – and I'm delighted she's proved herself today. The Amo team have thought a lot of her from day one. She was very impressive on debut, and you couldn't knock what she did at Royal Ascot.”

When asked about Hello You's future plans, Loughnane declared that connections have their sights set on a trip to the Breeders' Cup.

“I know Kia (Joorabchian) is very keen to potentially have a crack at the Breeders' Cup (Juvenile Fillies Turf) in Del Mar in November. We've always felt she'll be better over 1-mile and she's just outstayed them today over the 7 furlongs.”

Newmarket trainer George Boughey has enjoyed a fantastic season, and he saddled both Cachet and Oscula to finish 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Hello You (7/1) finished the 7-furlongs in 1:23:12, defeating eight rivals over a course listed as good-to-firm.

As part of the benefits of the Challenge Series, the Breeders' Cup will pay the entry fees for Hello You to start in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, which will be run at 1-mile over the Del Mar turf course. Breeders' Cup will also provide a travel allowance of US$40,000 for all starters based outside of North America to compete in the World Championships. The Challenge winner must be nominated to the Breeders' Cup program by the Championships' pre-entry deadline of Oct. 25 to receive the rewards.

Invincible Spirit’s Hello You Registers Game Rockfel Triumph

Amo Racing's €350,000 Arqana August Select graduate Hello You (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) had failed to scale the podium in two starts since joining the David Loughnane yard, but made amends and then some with a battling victory in Friday's G2 Unibet Rockfel S. at Newmarket. The March-foaled bay, who had posted a May 24 6 1/2-length tally on debut at Wolverhampton, hit the board in both G3 Albany S. and G2 Duchess of Cambridge S. when under the care of Ralph Beckett. She raced too keenly in a first-time hood for her Loughnane debut in York's Aug. 21 G2 Lowther S. and did so again sporting the headgear once more when fourth in Goodwood's Aug. 28 G3 Prestige S. last time. Hello You inched forward from fifth to stalk the leaders in a handy third after an alert getaway in this straight seven-furlong test. Bustled along for her bid approaching the quarter-mile marker, the 7-1 chance gained a narrow advantage entering the final furlong and was driven out up the hill to deny TDN Rising Star Cachet (Ire) (Aclaim {Ire}) by 1 1/2 lengths for a career high. Cachet's pacesetting George Boughey stablemate Oscula (Ire) (Galileo Gold {GB}) kept on well once headed and rallied to finish a half length adrift in third.

Hello You, the fourth of six foals, is one of three scorers and the leading performer out of a multiple-winning half-sister to G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest victor Signs of Blessing (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}). The March-foaled bay is kin to a yearling filly by Kodiac (GB) and a weanling filly by Bated Breath (GB). Her second dam Sun Bittern (Seeking the Gold), a half-sister to the dam of G3 Prix Miesque placegetter Moisson Precoce (GB) (Lawman {Fr}), is an unraced daughter of Listed Cheshire Oaks third Sunray Superstar (GB) (Nashwan), herself a full-sister to G1 Prix Saint-Alary victrix and G1 Prix de Diane runner-up Nadia (GB).

Kodi Bear’s Go Bears Go Wins the Railway

Runner-up in a gruelling renewal of the G2 Norfolk S. at Royal Ascot last Thursday, Go Bears Go (Ire) (Kodi Bear {Ire}) demonstrated his toughness to back up quickly and edge out the G3 Marble Hill S. first and second Castle Star (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}) and Masseto (GB) (Territories {Ire}) in a strong edition of The Curragh's G2 GAIN Railway S. on Saturday. Shadowing the leader The Acropolis (Ire) (Churchill {Ire}) in second throughout, the 17-2 shot who sported the Amo Racing silks was in front two out and refused to buckle from there under Rossa Ryan as he registered a 1 1/4-length success from Castle Star, with the same margin back to Masseto in third. TDN Rising Star Dr Zempf (GB) (Dark Angel {Ire}) was a neck away in fourth.

Successful from the front on debut over five furlongs at Ascot May 8, Go Bears Go was the winner on his side as the stand's-side runner Perfect Power (Ire) (Ardad {Ire}) swooped late in the Norfolk, so he has yet to be beaten when directly engaged in a race. Rossa Ryan was understandably delighted to mark his return from recent injury with the high-profile win. “He ran a super race in the Norfolk–he was just the wrong side,” he said. “We were so positive that he'd stay six furlongs and it was a big toss-up before Ascot between the Norfolk and the Coventry. Dave [Loughnane] took a massive risk coming here a week later, so we're glad it's paid off. He's a top-class sprinter in the making, I think. He's got the best attitude and a big up to Robson Aguiar and his team, who did prep this lad for the breeze-ups and they prep a good few of our yearlings. They did a fantastic job with him. To David Loughnane and all his team, they've been rock-solid. I have the easy job of steering them and I can only say thanks to everybody. I have to give a massive thanks to my boss Kia [Joorabchian] and everyone at Amo Racing, because they had the faith in me to get back on these on such a big weekend and do it.”

Go Bears Go is the last known foal out of In Dubai (Giant's Causeway), a daughter of Bahr (GB) (Generous {Ire}) who captured the G2 Ribblesdale S. and G3 Musidora S. and was runner-up in the G1 Epsom Oaks and third in the G1 Irish Oaks. She was responsible for the G1 Prix de l'Opera and GI Flower Bowl Invitational heroine Nahrain (GB) (Selkirk), who in turn produced the G1 Dubai Turf, G1 Caulfield S. and G1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis hero Benbatl (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}). Bahr is also the ancestress of the G3 Palace House S. winner Far Above (Ire) (Farhh {GB}).
