Gulfstream: Saturday’s Rainbow 6 Pool Guaranteed At $1.5 Million, Mandatory Payout Sunday

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $1.5 million Saturday at Gulfstream Park.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the 23rd consecutive racing program Friday, when multiple tickets with all six winners were each worth $327.58.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

A mandatory payout of the entire Rainbow 6 pool is scheduled for Sunday.

Saturday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 7-12, including the $100,000 Martha Washington in Race 9 and the $100,000 Not Surprising in Race 11.

Saffie Joseph Jr.-trained Tournesol and Patrick Biancone-trained Yesterdayoncemore, who finished 1-2, respectively, in the July 12 Portofino Bay, are scheduled to clash again in the Martha Washington, a mile turf stakes for 3-year-old fillies.

Amador Sanchez-trained Graceful Kitten and Ruben Gracida-trained Monforte are both scheduled to return from layoffs in the $100,000 Not Surprising, a mile turf stakes for 3-year-olds. Graceful Kitten won the first three starts of his career before finishing off the board in both the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (G1) at Santa Anita hasn't run since finishing off the board in the Nov. 30 Pulpit at Gulfstream. Monforte will seek to win his fifth straight race, the most recent being a win in the Feb. 17 Sage of Monticello at Gulfstream. Todd Pletcher-Kokomo brings sharp recent form into the Not Surprising, coming off a late-running optional claiming allowance victory.

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $1.4 million Friday at Gulfstream Park.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the 20th consecutive racing program Thursday, when multiple tickets with all six winners were each worth $19,090.84.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

A mandatory payout of the entire Rainbow 6 pool is scheduled for Sunday.

Friday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 4-9, including a first-level optional claiming allowance at five-furlongs on the turf carded as Race 8. Ken McPeek-trained Lemniscate returns to turf for his second start off a four-month layoff. The 4-year-old son of Exchange Rate broke his maiden on turf at Gulfstream in March 2019.

Races 8 and 9, a mile race for $10,000 maiden claimers, are also included in the sequence for Friday's Stronach 5, a $1 wager with a guaranteed pool of $100,000. The Stronach 5 will be kicked off by Race 6 at Laurel Park, followed by Gulfstream's Race 8, Laurel's Race 7, Gulfstream's Race 9 and Laurel's Race 8.

Tropical Storm Causes Gulfstream To Postpone Rainbow 6 Mandatory Payout To Aug. 9

Gulfstream Park announced Thursday it will postpone the mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 to Sunday, Aug. 9 due to the uncertainty over the forecast and severity of Tropical Storm Isaias.

The popular 20-cent wager had been scheduled for a mandatory payout Sunday.

Gulfstream's weekend races will include Saturday's FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes with the $100,000 Dr. Fager and $100,000 Desert Vixen. Two of Gulfstream's races Friday will be featured in the Stronach 5.

First race post time Friday, Saturday and Sunday is noon.

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $900,000 Saturday at Gulfstream Park.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the 13th consecutive racing program Friday, when multiple tickets with all six winners were each worth $41.08.

There will also be a Super Hi 5 carryover of $3,827.04.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

A mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 has been scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 2.

Saturday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 6-11 and will include the $60,000 Ana T Stakes in Race 9 and the $60,000 Mecke Stakes in Race 10.

Lady's Island will seek her ninth win in 10 starts while facing seven other fillies and mares as the 4-5 morning-line favorite in the six-furlong Ana T.

Multiple-stakes winner Galleon Mast is set to face a full field of 3-year-olds and up in the Mecke, a mile turf event, as the 5-2 morning-line favorite.
