Sherri Ivanovich Named Gainesway Farm Manager

Gainesway Farm is delighted to announce the appointment of Sherri Ivanovich as farm manager.

Ivanovich established a top-class reputation in her previous role at Gainesway as the yearling manager, a position that lasted 22 years.

Her leadership in this role has been pivotal to the growing farms success as a leading nursery and consignor.

“I have worked with Sherri for over 30 years and she is the epitome of hard work and dedication,” said Gainesway's general manager Brian Graves. “A great deal of any success we've had is a direct result of Sherri's support, and her commitment to excellence. I am very excited to promote her to this role at Gainesway.”

Kentucky Derby Museum: Free Kids Admission During Fall Break

Kentucky Derby Museum, located at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky., is offering a Fall Break deal where children 12 and under receive FREE general admission on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from September 29 – October 20. This window of time ensures all local school districts in the Greater Louisville area can participate – including southern Indiana schools.

Families will be able to enjoy a Historic Walking Tour of Churchill Downs; see “The Greatest Race,” the Museum's 360° media experience; and take part in a scavenger hunt. Guests can purchase lunch at the Derby Cafe Express and make it a fun day out for the entire family!

A parent or guardian must be present with children at all times. Adults and children 13+ will need to purchase a general admission ticket to enter. Groups of 5 or more children will be required to have 1 adult for every 5 children in the group.

Guests can go to DerbyMuseum.org/fallbreak to plan their visit. Tickets for parents, guardians, and students who are age 13+ may be purchased at the door or online. Children 12 and under get in for free at the door.

Hardy Named To Darley America Nominations Team

Darley America today announced that Hallie Hardy, most recently client marketing coordinator at the company's Jonabell division in Lexington, Ky., will join the sales team to concentrate on selling seasons for the Darley stallions.

Nomination manager Darren Fox said, “Hallie possesses a great deal of knowledge about the Thoroughbred industry, and we couldn't be more pleased to bring her on board with the sales team. Her past experience reflects both a global and domestic view of our business which positions her very well to succeed in her new role.”

Hardy graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Equine Science and Management. Upon graduation, she joined The Jockey Club's America's Best Racing bus tour as a Brand Ambassador, traveling to all the major U.S. racing jurisdictions and promoting the sport.

Following a year as a brand ambassador, Hardy traveled overseas first as a student in the Irish National Stud Breeding Course and then as a Godolphin Flying Start trainee. After completing Flying Start in 2016, Hardy worked for Godolphin's marketing department helping with the inaugural year of the Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards before spending a winter working for trainer Graham Motion.

In 2017, she was hired by WinStar Farm as their client relations liaison. In 2018, Hardy came back to Godolphin where she has worked for the marketing team, focusing on client marketing as well as assisting with other important initiatives.

“I am delighted to take on this new responsibility with the nominations team and look forward to continuing to meet our clients across the industry,” Hardy said. “I have been so very fortunate throughout my career and it's an incredible time to be a part of this organization. I am excited to see what the future holds.”

Equine Analysis Systems Promotes Rachel Martell to Operations Manager

Equine Analysis Systems has promoted Rachel Martell to Operations Manager. In the role, Martell will help maximize day-to-day efficiency in all aspects of operations and improve organizational processes. A familiar face to many consignors and farm managers in the industry, she will continue in her managerial roles in the technical department and maintain a presence at the major sales.

“Rachel joined our team in 2015 and has grown to exceed all reasonable expectations,” said Equine Analysis President and Founder Dr. David Lambert. “Her ambition and undeniable work ethic are valued assets to us all at Equine Analysis.”

Originally from Cleveland, OH, Martell grew up surrounded by sport horses. She moved to Lexington, KY to attend the University of Kentucky and took an internship position with Equine Analysis, assisting with both technical and office tasks. Upon graduation, she earned a full-time position with the company as a veterinary assistant. She was promoted to Senior Technician in 2019, helping coordinate farm visits, training new staff, and streamlining technical procedures.
