Premier Turf Club, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of PointsBet USA Inc., today announced a partnership agreement with 1/ST TECHNOLOGY, a business division of The Stronach Group (“TSG”). The agreement encompasses 1/ST's broad portfolio of products and services including 1/ST BET, Xpressbet, Monarch Content Management and AmTote International.

Key features of the deal include:

  • PointsBet and 1/ST Technology will collaborate on integration and launch of the one-of-a-kind 1/ST BET online horse wagering product in US jurisdictions where Advance Deposit Wagering (ADW) is permitted.
  • Deeply aligns the companies and drives vertical integration across key components of ADW–product, tote, and content management–serving to enrich the PointsBet offering and introduce new bettors to American horseracing.
  • Racing customers of 1/ST TECHNOLOGY's currently operated brands, Xpressbet and 1/ST BET, will be introduced to the world of Sports Betting and iCasino via PointsBet products through this unique marketing partnership.

The agreement encompasses a wide range of services and synergies across the companies which is set to deliver a fully integrated, white-label horse betting experience to PointsBet customers. The partnership marks the first time in the United States that a tier-one sports betting company and horse racing company have aligned to power an independently owned and licensed ADW operator.

1/ST BET is a revolutionary multi-featured app with an algorithm based handicapping tool and a fully configurable UI/UX created to introduce new customers to horse racing and betting, as well as support for the most advanced horse racing bettors. The 1/ST BET app was developed to make handicapping and betting fun and intuitive. Its goal is to educate customers to make smarter bets, engage with the sport of horse racing, and complement the on-track visuals and wagering experience. 1/ST BET was successfully launched nationally in May 2019.

PointsBet Moves Into U.S. Horse Racing Market With Purchase Of Premier Turf Club ADW

PointsBet USA Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of PointsBet Holdings Ltd., has announced the premier global online gaming and racing operator has agreed in principle to acquire Premier Turf Club, LLC, an advance deposit wagering company licensed by the Oregon Racing Commission.  The agreement is set to initia­lly position PointsBet within the U.S. online horse racing market as the company continues its rapid expansion across the country.

Premier Turf Club's highly experienced staff will also be joining the PointsBet team.

Hawthorne Opens Sportsbook with PointsBet

Hawthorne Race Course and PointsBet have been approved by the Illinois Gaming Board to open the state's first off-track and non-casino sportsbook beginning Jan. 27. The newly remodeled Club Hawthorne in suburban Crestwood is part of Hawthorne's off-tracking betting (OTB) network, and is the first of three such OTB locations that will open under Illinois' sports betting law.

“Hawthorne is the only gaming company in the Chicagoland area that is able to open sportsbooks at off-track and non-casino locations, so this is an opportunity on which we focused a lot of energy and investment,” said Tim Carey, president and CEO of Hawthorne Race Course. “We completely remodeled the space to create the best sports viewing and sports betting destination in the State.”

The PointsBet Sportsbook at Club Hawthorne will also feature exclusive retail-only betting promotions and sweepstakes. Current health safety protocols provide for limited seating capacity which will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis; however bet-and-go services for cash wagering are available. The sportsbook will open from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends.

NBCUniversal and PointsBet announced a multi-year partnership by which PointsBet becomes the official sports betting partner of NBC Sports. As part of the agreement, NBC Sports will provide PointsBet with year-round, multi-platform media and marketing opportunities across its unmatched portfolio of events. Included among the new agreement:

  • Exclusive PointsBet odds integrations will be incorporated into Rotoworld, NBC Sports’ fantasy and sports betting digital property which has been a market leader for two decades.
  • PointsBet features full Spanish-language functionality, and will reach Hispanic sports fans via Telemundo Deportes and Telemundo broadcast stations.
  • PointsBet will be the exclusive provider of odds, props and trends for NBCSN and GOLF Channel and their digital properties.
