IRRF To Hold Online Auction

The Irish Racehorse Retirement Fund (IRRF) will hold an online auction, featuring stallion nominations, golfing days at Rathsallagh and Moyvalley, a signed Healy Racing Grand National montage and tickets to the 2022 Irish National. The auction will end on Mar. 18. Nominations will be available in Flat stallion Kuroshio (Aus) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}), and National Hunt stallions Saintgodrel (Fr) (Saint Des Saints {Fr}) and Boscaccio (Ger) (Mount Nelson {GB}). The Irish charity is geared toward the welfare of horses that have retired from racing. To view the catalogue, please click here.

IRRF secretary and amateur jockey, Heather Heffernan said, “We are delighted by the support that our partners and supporters have given us and are thrilled with the lots that we have on offer in the auction. These funds will assist horses making the transition from racing to a new discipline easier for both the animal and their new owners, as well as providing education courses on welfare and racehorse to riding horse aftercare.”

Jockeys & Jeans Stallion Season Sale Brings over $70K

This year's Jockey and Jeans Stallion Season Sale, which ended Jan. 24, surpassed 2021 figures, earning $72,450 for the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. The auction was held on www.Starquine.com.

“We thank all the season donors and buyers who once again proved that the Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse community cares about those 60 catastrophically injured jockeys,” said Jockeys and Jeans President, Barry Pearl. “And believe me the $1,000 a month stipend the charity gives to those men and women make a huge difference in their lives. We want to make sure they are never forgotten.”

Sales in the Quarter Horse section of the sale totaled $44,450 while sales of Thoroughbred seasons brought in $28,000.

Listed-Winning Jumper Added to I Want The Winner Online Auction

Chataignier (Fr) (Sri Putra {GB}), who won the Listed Prix Camille Dubosc over jumps at Pau, has been added to the first online auction conducted by I Want The Winner. A winner on the Flat, Chataignier was trained initially by Edouard Monfort, and he then joined jumping trainer Gabriel Leenders.

“He is a high quality horse, ready to go hurdling overseas,” said Leenders.

Slated for Feb. 9 from 4-5 p.m. French time, the auction also features the winning AQPS Ip Up (Fr) (Secret Singer {Fr}) and the maiden winner Joviale Bere (Fr) (Pedro The Great).

I Want The Winner To Hold First Online Auction

The first online auction conducted by I Want The Winner will be held on Feb. 9 from 4 to 5 p.m. French time. A platform to buy and sell racehorses on the internet, I Want The Winner is offering AQPS Ip Up (Fr) (Secret Singer {Fr}) and she will be consigned by Donatien Sourdeau de Beauregard. The 4-year-old filly won first out and she is out of a winning sister to Cheltenham Festival winner Easysland (Fr) (Gentlewave {Ire}). Completing the online auction is the 3-year-old filly Joviale Bere (Fr) (Pedro The Great). Trained by Jerome Reynier, the maiden winner is from the same family as It's Midnight (Shamardal), Holocene (Lemon Drop Kid) and Solar Midnight (Lemon Drop Kid).

IWTW Development Director Valentin Adam said “We have created an innovative system which is the result of several months of development, the principle is simple: a virtual sales room per horse, a complete and transparent access to information. We are launching the first sale on Wednesday, 9th of February from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. (French time) and we invite you to take part, even if it's just as a visitor.”
