Observations: Half To Subjectivist Starts Out at Redcar

WORLD WITHOUT LOVE (GB) (Ulysses {Ire}) makes her debut on the card at the Northern seaside venue for her owner-breeder Mascalls Stud and trainer Mark Johnston, who has achieved so much with her half-brothers Subjectivist (GB) (Teofilo {Ire}) and Sir Ron Priestley (GB) (Australia {GB}) and half-sister Alba Rose (GB) (Muhaarar (GB}). The dam Reckoning (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}) already looked a top producer before the G1 Gold Cup victory of Subjectivist and G2 Jockey Club S. and G2 Princess of Wales's S. heroics of Sir Ron Priestley in the past months and while this March-foaled chestnut will probably need time, Alba Rose did have the precocity to finish third in last year's G2 Rockfel S.

Daughter of G1SW Cursory Glance Set For Notts Bow

Opposition to the Andre Fabre-conditioned debutant includes Alain and Gerard Wertheimer's fellow newcomer Ilic (Ire) (Iffraaj {GB}), who is a son of G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches and G1 Prix d'Astarte runner-up Impressionnante (GB) (Danehill) and thus a sibling of G1 Prix du Jockey Club-winning sire Intello (Ger) (Galileo {Ire}), from the Freddy Head stable.

KHK Racing's 2.7-million October Book 1 purchase Akhu Najla (GB) (Kingman {GB}) ran second for Roger Varian in his Leicester unveiling Tuesday and the partnership is represented by another expensive debutant, £480,000 Arqana@Doncaster Breeze-Up graduate ELDAR ELDAROV (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), in this extended one-mile test. The February-foaled bay, who traded for £110,000 as an Orby@Doncaster yearling, is a product of the flourishing Lanwades Stud nursery and a grandson of the operation's MG1SW distaffer Albanova (GB) (Alzao). He is set to encounter Godolphin's Team Gosden representative Rockfire (Ire) (Sea the Stars {Ire}), who is out of G2 Ribblesdale S. runner-up Flame of Gibraltar (Ire) (Rock of Gibraltar {Ire}), herself kin to five black-type performers headed by MGSW G1 Premio Vittorio di Capua third Echo of Light (GB) (Dubai Millennium {GB}).

Her 10 rivals feature Lord Lloyd-Webber's hithero unraced Peace Offering (GB) (Lope de Vega {Ire}), who is a John and Thady Gosden-trained granddaughter of the dual Classic-placed GI Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup heroine Together (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}).

The April-foaled bay debuts for Roger Varian and his 10 rivals include Godolphin's Charlie Appleby-trained fellow newcomer Yukon Star (Ire) (Oasis Dream {GB}), who is out of a half-sister to MG1SW sire Mount Nelson (GB); and Sheikh Juma Dalmook Al Maktoum's Knight of Honour (Ire) (Decorated Knight {GB}), who is an unraced son of G1 Cheveley Park S. second Princess Noor (Ire) (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}), representing John and Thady Gosden.

Also a full-sibling of the G3 Lion Rock Trophy winner Booming Delight (Ire) known as Out and About when racing in this country and a half to the G3 Gallinule S. scorer Alexander Pope (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}) who was re-named Packing Tycoon in Hong Kong, the William Haggas-trained bay appears the stable's second-string on jockey bookings behind James Wigan's fellow newcomer Queenlet (Ire) (Kingman {GB}), whose dam is a full-sister to the top-class Photo Call (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}).

 

5.20 Newcastle, Mdn, £6,800, 2yo, f, 8f 5y (AWT)
CHING SHIH (IRE) (Lope de Vega {Ire}) is the third foal out of Kirsten Rausing's 2014 G1 QIPCO British Champions Fillies & Mares S. heroine Madame Chiang (GB) (Archipenko), whose first was the recent Listed Prix Luth Enchantee winner Oriental Mystique (GB) (Kingman {GB}). That filly, who like the dam and this March-foaled bay, is in the care of David Simcock, was also second in last year's G2 Prix de Malleret and third in the G3 Hoppings Fillies' S. on the Tapeta here in June.
