Belmont S. Draw to Air June 1

America's Day at the Races will broadcast a special half-hour show on FS2 Tuesday, June 1 from 11-11:30 a.m. that will air the draw for the June 5 GI Belmont S., presented by NYRA Bets.

Presented by America's Best Racing and Claiborne Farm, the broadcast schedule for America's Day at the Races the following week are (EST):

  • Thursday, May 27 (FS2: 5 – 8:30 p.m.)
  • Friday, May 28 (FS2: 12:30 – 5:30 p.m.)
  • Saturday, May 29 (FS2: 12:30 – 6 p.m.)
  • Sunday, May 30 (Bally Sports SoCal: 3 – 5:30 p.m. & FS2: 4 – 4:30 p.m.)
  • Monday, May 31 (FS2: 12:30- 8:30 p.m.)

Registration Open For Belmont Stakes Challenge

Registration for the two-day Belmont Stakes Challenge presented by Jackpocket, offering cash prizes along with seats to the National Horseplayers' Championship (NHC) and Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge (BCBC) is now open. The event takes place over Belmont S. weekend, Friday and Saturday, June 4 and 5.

Entrants for the challenge will compete for cash prizes down to fourth place as well as one seat to the 2022 Belmont Stakes Challenge, four seats to the NHC and two BCBC berths.

The 2021 Belmont Stakes Challenge has an entry fee of $10,000, of which $2,500 goes to the prize pool. The balance is the player's bankroll. Tournament races will kick off Friday, June 4 and will conclude with the 153rd running of the GI Belmont S. the next afternoon.

Registration Open For Belmont Stakes Handicapping Challenge

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today announced registration is now open for the two-day Belmont Stakes Challenge presented by Jackpocket slated for June 4-5.

NYRA Handicapping Challenge entrants will be able to register and compete online in all contests via NYRA Bets. The leaderboard for all of these contests will be posted on NYRABets.com and throughout the day on America's Day at the Races, the acclaimed national telecast produced by NYRA in partnership with FOX Sports.

Entrants for the two-day Belmont Stakes Challenge will compete for cash prizes through fourth place as well as one seat to the 2022 Belmont Stakes Challenge, four seats to the 2022 National Horseplayers Championship (NHC), and two seats to the Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge (BCBC).

Wagering At Aqueduct Spring Meet Shows 11.5 Percent Increase In Daily Average

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) announced Tuesday that the boutique 11-day Aqueduct spring meet generated all-sources handle of $85,419,050, a 2.2 percent increase over the 2019 Aqueduct spring meet.

Average daily handle over the 11 days of live racing was $7,765,368, an 11.5 percent increase over 2019, when average daily handle over the 12 days of live racing was $6,964,947.

The 2020 spring meet at Aqueduct Racetrack was canceled in its entirety due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In accordance with New York State guidelines instituted to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the 2021 Aqueduct spring meet was conducted without spectators and with only a limited number of owners and essential employees in attendance.

On-track handle, which includes wagering from New York residents utilizing NYRA Bets, was $5,734,531 compared to $9,987,247 in 2019.

The Belmont Park spring/summer meet, which features 59 total stakes races worth $16.95 million in total purses, will open on Thursday, April 22 and continue through Sunday, July 11.
