French Flat Jockeys’ Championship Timetable Changed For 2022/23

The rules were changed for the timetable of the 2022 French Flat jockeys' championship, the Cravache d'Or, with the Association des Jockeys Executive Committee validating the advisory vote in favour of a date change on Friday. Originally, the valid dates for the Flat championship were from Jan. 1-Dec. 31st, but beginning in 2022, the Cravache d'Or will begin on Mar. 1st and end on Oct. 30th. The other French jockeys' championships-the Cravache d'Or obstacle for National Hunt jockeys and the Etrier d'Or for apprentices will remain Jan. 1-Dec. 31. The new system is considered a transitional measure for the 2022 and 2023 seasons, while the jockeys will be consulted again in the future after the implementation of the date change.

Weatherbys ITBA NH Fillies Bonus Scheme Closes on Sept. 30

The closing date for the Weatherbys ITBA National Hunt Fillies Bonus Scheme is Sept. 30. Through the support of HRI and Weatherbys, the initiative, now in its eighth year, has passed the €2-million mark in bonuses paid out to winning owners. A €5,000 bonus is attached to every mares-only maiden race in Ireland: bumpers, maiden hurdles and beginners' chases. In 2018, the scheme was extended to include a number of mares only handicap hurdles for fillies that did not win their maiden in addition to supporting the Connolly's Red Mills EBF Auction Race Series, whereby if a filly wins this race she will receive an additional bonus. Auctav’s July Catalogue Released

The Auctav July Online Sale features a diverse catalogue, with almost half of the 20 offerings broodmares in foal. Five Flat mares are carrying to dual Group 3 winner Chachnak (Fr) (Kingman {GB})-Blue Mood (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) (lot 6), Great Trip (Lemon Drop Kid) (lot 13), Peace City (Fr) (Elusive City) (lot 15), Pyramid Street (Street Sense) (lot 16), Aimante (Fr) (Dansili {GB}) (lot 18), and the winner Candinie (Bernardini) (lot 19). Dourada (Fr) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}), lot 10, is in foal to Triple Threat (Fr) (Monsun {Ger}). The sale will take place online from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on July 21.
