The focus of the bloodstock community shifts across town for the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, and the Paulick Report has the reading material you need for the day in the PR Special.

Today's issue, like every edition of the PR Special, offers exclusive, detailed bloodstock content not yet seen on the rest of the website in a pdf format that's easy to read and print.

With the recent pensioning of champion and leading sire Tiznow, bloodstock editor Joe Nevills assesses the state of the foundation Godolphin Arabian sire line – one that runs through the great Man o' War – which is left without a clear heir in North America.

Spendthrift Farm's Coal Front is the subject of this issue's Stallion Spotlight, with Mark Toothaker explaining what makes the globetrotting son of Stay Thirsty an appealing prospect for breeders. In a time when major catalog updates can be found throughout the sale catalog, Bryce Burton of Muirfield Insurance discusses when and how to change a horse's insured value in Ask Your Insurer. Then, Nevills takes a look at the new weanling sires in the Keeneland November sale in First-Crop Sire Watch.

The major mixed auction kicks off a big couple of weeks starting with the Sunday's Fasig-Tipton November Sale, and the Paulick Report has the reading material you need for the day in the PR Special.

This issue – featuring exclusive content not yet seen on the website – sees bloodstock editor Joe Nevills examining the recently released Jockey Club Report of Mares Bred to see which stallions made the biggest year-to-year jumps in the number of mares they covered in 2020.

The Stallion Spotlight shines on Shadwell Farm's Qurbaan, a multiple Grade 2-winning son of Speightstown who completed his first season at stud in 2020. In this issue's installment of INQUIRY, we ask folks on the sales grounds about their favorite music to listen to on the road, and get a wide range of results.

Dr. Charlie Scoggin of Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital discusses the cap on stud book size for colts born in 2020 or later from his professional perspective in Ask Your Veterinarian. Then, Bryce Burton of Muirfield Insurance explains how your equine insurance plan interacts with equine loans in Ask Your Insurer. Finally, Nevills takes a dive through the Fasig-Tipton November catalog to focus on the rookie stallions in First Crop Sire Watch.

PR Special Breeders’ Cup Edition: Freshman Sire Race Reaches Its Lightning Round

The Breeders' Cup is a celebration of the Thoroughbred industry's achievements on the racetrack, and on farms around the world, and the Paulick Report puts the spotlight on both in a unique Breeders' Cup edition of the PR Special.

In this edition, bloodstock editor Joe Nevills counts down the horses by freshman sires in each of Friday's five Breeders' Cup races for 2-year-olds. A win by one of their runners can turn the 2020 freshman sire race upside down, or put a leader out of reach for the rest of the year.

Nevills then examines all 14 championship races and identifies the most expensive auction graduate in each field. In INQUIRY, we have the members of the sales grounds go back to school, asking them what the name of their class on horse racing would be, if they taught one.

This issue's Ask Your Insurer sees Bryce Burton of Muirfield Insurance discuss coverage for in-utero foals purchased at auction. Then, Erin O'Keefe of BTE Stables goes over what to look for in a weanling-to-yearling pinhook prospect, especially on a budget. Finally, we see which stallions are represented by the most entries in the championship races this weekend in Breeders' Cup Sire Watch.

The Stallion Spotlight turns on Fast Anna, with Tom Hamm of Three Chimneys describing what makes the son of Medaglia d'Oro appealing for potential breeders. Then, Nevills polls the members of the sales grounds about their favorite sports teams in this issue's edition of INQUIRY.

Bryce Burton of Muirfield Insurance discusses protections important for consignors on the sales grounds in the latest edition of Ask Your Insurer. Finally, we take a look at the rookie stallions represented in the October sale catalog in First-Crop Sire Watch.
