Santa Anita: With Carryover Of $418,628, Saturday’s Rainbow Six Pool Could Reach $4 Million For Mandatory Payout

With a carryover from Friday of $418,628 serving as a pari-mutuel catalyst, Santa Anita Park will offer fans a mandatory payout in Saturday's 20 cent Rainbow Pick Six Jackpot, with the possibility of a massive $4 million Rainbow Six pool up for grabs.

With first post time for a 10-race card 30 minutes early at 12 noon, Saturday is also California Cup Day, with five races for California-bred or sired horses highlighting the program. Four of the Cal-Cup races fall within the Rainbow Six and a total of 56 horses have been entered to run, making for an average field size of 9.3 runners per Rainbow Six race.

Assigned post time for race five, the beginning of the Rainbow Six, is at 2:05 p.m. PT.

Santa Anita's admission gates will open at 10 a.m. and the track's spacious Infield Area, accessible via Gate 6 off of Colorado Place, will be open on both Saturday and Sunday.

New Year’s Eve At Aqueduct Features Double Pick 6 Carryover Of $195K, Mandatory Payout

Friday's nine-race card at Aqueduct Racetrack will be bolstered by a double Pick 6 carryover of $195,762 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Thursday. Friday will also offer a mandatory payout as the calendar year comes to a close.

The $1 Pick 6 returned $765 for the selection of 5-of-6 winners correctly.

The Pick 6 sequence began on Thursday in Race 3 when Anything Pazible [No. 1, $33.20] upset a state-bred allowance for 3-year-olds and up at odds of 15-1 under Jacqueline Davis for trainer Eduardo Jones.

The Robert Falcone, Jr.-trained Hoopla [No. 2, $3.30] provided the only win by a favorite on the card in Race 4, bounding away to a 2 ¾-length claiming victory with apprentice rider Christian Ramos up to give Falcone, Jr. his first of two wins on the card.

Inevtabl Conection [No. 2, $7] was ridden by Kendrick Carmouche to his first victory in an open company maiden special weight in Race 5 for trainer Steve Klesaris. Air Show [No. 3, $15] then earned his first win against winners when he took Race 6, a $25,000 claimer, for trainer Tom Morley and jockey Trevor McCarthy.

Falcone, Jr.'s second win of the day came when Maiden Beauty [No. 2, $8.60] won the second stakes of her career in Race 7, the Bay Ridge for state-bred fillies and mares 3-years-old and up.

The Juan Vazquez-trained Esor [No. 3, $14.20] triggered the double carryover with a mild upset in the nightcap at odds of 6-1 to break his maiden with Eric Cancel aboard.

Friday's eight-race card features the $100,000 Alex M. Robb for New York-breds 3-years-old and up in Race 7 with the Pick 6 sequence beginning in Race 3 at 1:44 p.m. Eastern. First post will be at 12:50 p.m.

Mahoning Valley: Thursday’s Card Features Mandatory Payouts

In a unique Thursday edition of live racing at Hollywood Gaming Mahoning Valley Race Course, handicappers tuning in on Dec. 30 will be offered customary end of meet mandatory payouts of the Pick 4, Pick 5, and Buckeye Jackpot Pick 6 wagers.

There will be one final opportunity to take down the entire carryover of the Buckeye Jackpot Pick 6 on Wednesday, Dec. 29 which starts in Race 3 with an estimated post time of 1:40 p.m. It is a 20-cent wager with a 20 percent takeout rate. The jackpot pays out to a single ticket which correctly selects the winner of all six races.

The official carryover amounts across all wagers for Thursday's card will be available at the conclusion of live racing on Wednesday. Should the Pick 4, Pick 5, or Buckeye Jackpot Pick 6 be hit on the Wednesday race card, a mandatory distribution will still be held on Thursday using the net wagering pools generated on that day.

Hollywood Gaming Mahoning Valley Race Course races Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with a first race post time of 12:45pm and Saturday with a first race post time of 12:15pm. The fall race meet runs Oct. 22 – Dec. 30, 2021 with three unique cards on Friday, Oct. 22, Friday, Nov. 26, and Thursday, Dec. 30 all with a first race post time of 12:45pm. The 2022 Winter/Spring race meet dates run Jan. 1, 2022 – April 16, 2022 following the same Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday format.

Mandatory Payout: Parx Big 5 Carryover Reaches $389,290 For Wednesday’s Card

On Wednesday, Dec. 29, Parx Racing in Bensalem, Pa. will have a mandatory distribution of the Philly Big 5 carryover jackpot.

The current carryover jackpot is $389,290.12 going into Wednesday's ten-race card.

Post time is 12:10 p.m. ET.

The Philly Big 5 will begin in Race 6.
