Auguste Rodin Joins Longines WBRR Top 10 After Irish Champion Win

The Coolmore partners' Auguste Rodin (Ire) has joined the top 10 of the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings on the back of a victory in the G1 Irish Champion S. and raised his rating to 124. Japanese superstar Equinox (Jpn) (Kitasan Black {Jpn}) is still on top of the rankings at 129, one pound better than G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth S. victor Hukum (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) and G1 International S. hero Mostahdaf (Ire) (Frankel {GB}).

Also a winner of the G1 Derby and G1 Irish Derby, the son of Deep Impact (Jpn) defeated Aidan O'Brien stablemate Luxembourg (Ire) (Camelot {GB}) (123), fellow list newcomer and G1 Falmouth S. heroine Nashwa (GB) (Frankel {GB}) (121) and group winner King Of Steel (Wootton Bassett {GB}) (121) in fourth.

Arcangelo (Arrogate), who won the GI Belmont S. in June, returned to take the GI Travers S. at Saratoga and is now ranked 121, also good for the top 10 spots. For the full list of ranked horses, please visit the IFHA website.

Hukum Rises To Joint-Second On The Longines WBRR

After taking the G1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth S. at Ascot, Shadwell's Hukum (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) has been given a mark of 128 on the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings, which were released on Thursday.

Another Shadwell representative, G1 Prince Of Wales's S. hero Mostahdaf (Ire) (Frankel {GB}), is also at 128, with only Japan's Equinox (Jpn) (Kitasan Black {Jpn}) higher in the pecking order at 129. After the leading trio is Juddmonte's Westover (GB) (Frankel {GB}), who was second in the King George, one better than King Of Steel (Wootton Bassett {GB}) (120).

Rankings newcomer White Abarrio (Race Day) is at 122 after taking the GI Whitney S. at Saratoga on Saturday. Another fresh face on the WBRR is Nations Pride (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}), successful in the G1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis – Bayerisches Zuchtrennen. He sits at 121 pounds, one better than crack sprinter Shaquille (GB) (Charm Spirit {Ire}), at 120. The grandson of Invincible Spirit (Ire) has won all four of his 2023 starts, including the G1 July Cup S. last month.

Shadwell’s Mostahdaf Improves To Second On Longines WBRR

Shadwell's Mostahdaf (Ire) (Frankel {GB}) dominated the G1 Prince of Wales's S. by four lengths at Royal Ascot last month and improved his Longines World's Best Racehorse Ranking (WBRR) from 121 to 128 to sit second behind the 129-ranked Equinox (Jpn) (Kitasan Black {Jpn}) on the leaderboard, with the latest rankings released by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA) on Thursday.

Luxembourg (Ire) (Camelot {GB}) who was second as the favourite in the 10-furlong contest, sits on 123 while Adayar (Ire) (Frankel {GB}) was third home and is weighted on 120.

Following his decisive victory in the G1 St James's Palace S. at Royal Ascot, three-time Group 1 winner Paddington (GB) (Siyouni {Fr}) is up to 125 for his defeat of the classy Emily Upjohn (GB) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) (121), the top-rated female in the world, in the G1 Coral Eclipse S. July 8. Paddington joins Golden Sixty (Aus) (Medaglia d'Oro) and Lucky Sweynesse (NZ) (Sweynesse {Aus}), who will fight out Hong Kong Horse of the Year honours, to be announced Friday. Triple Time (Ire) (Frankel {GB}) led home a 1-2 finish for his sire in the G1 Queen Anne S. to open the Royal Meeting and is rated on 121.

A pair of American gallopers are also on the rise after victories on the Belmont S. undercard last month. Cody's Wish (Curlin) improved from 119 to 122 after an impressive win in the GI Hill 'n' Dale Metropolitan H. and is rated joint-best dirt horse in the world with G1 Dubai World Cup hero Ushba Tesoro (Jpn) (Orfevre {Jpn}). Up To The Mark (Not This Time) cemented his status as America's pre-eminent turf horse with an easy tally in the GI Resorts World Casino Manhattan S., for which he was awarded a rating of 121, bettering his effort in the GI Old Forester Bourbon Turf Classic by one pound.

The next edition of the Longines WBRR will be published on Aug. 10.

French Classic Winner Ace Impact Joins Top Five On Longines WBRR

Sunday's G1 Prix du Jockey Club winner Ace Impact (Ire) (Cracksman {GB}) is now in the top five on the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings at a joint 123, after the latest results were released on Thursday.

Well ahead of his rivals is Equinox (Jpn) (Kitasan Black {Jpn}) on 129, and fellow Japanese runner Titleholder (Jpn) (Duramente {Jpn}) is fourth on 124. Hong Kong's crack sprinter Lucky Sweynesse (NZ) has improved one pound to 125 after a win in the G3 Sha Tin Vase and is tied with Golden Sixty (Aus) (Medaglia d'Oro) in second.

Luxembourg (Ire) (Australia {GB}) (123) is also in the top five after taking the G1 Tattersalls Gold Cup over Bay Bridge (GB) (New Bay (122), with Hong Kong galloper Romantic Warrior (Ire) (Acclamation {GB}) also weighing in at 123.

Other newcomers to the rankings include G1 Derby winner Auguste Rodin (Ire) (Deep Impact {Jpn}) on 122 and Derby runner-up King Of Steel (Wootton Bassett {GB}) on 120. Emily Upjohn (GB) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) (121) defeated Westover (GB) (Frankel {GB}) (120) in the G1 Coronation Cup the day prior to the Derby. Juddmonte's colt shares a 120-pound mark with G1 Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks) heroine Liberty Island (Jpn) (Duramente {Jpn}).
