Calumet Sets Lexitonian’s Fee at $7,500

Grade I winner Lexitonian (Spightstown) will stand the 2024 breeding season at Calumet Farm for a fee of $7,500, live foal, after spending his first two years at stud at Lane's End, the farm announced on Tuesday. The 7-year-old stallion, who won the 2021 GI Alfred G. Vanderbilt H. and finished second in the GI Bing Crosby S., was bred and campaigned by Calumet Farm.

Lexitonian joins Keen Ice (Curlin), Oxbow (Awesome Again), Hightail (Mineshaft) and Channel Cat (English Channel) at $7,500. Bal A Bali (Brz) (Put It Back), Bravazo (Awesome Again), Ransom the Moon (Malibu Moon), Real Solution (Kitten's Joy) and True Timber (Mineshaft) will all stand for a fee of $5,000, live foal. Big Blue Kitten (Kitten's Joy), Hence (Street Boss), Mr. Z (Malibu Moon) and Producer (GB) (Dutch Art {GB}) are all listed as private for 2024.

TAA Online Auction of VIP Experiences, Season To Lexitonian Nets $56,000

The Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance's second annual Off to the Races online auction concluded Feb. 6 and raised over $56,000 from the 17 offered VIP experience packages and no guarantee Season to Lexitonian (Speightstown).

The auction featured experience packages on 17 major race days in 2023 and 2024, each offering a unique itinerary of horse racing-related bucket list activities and tickets to the specified race day(s). Additionally, a no guarantee season with a breed back to 2021 G1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt S. winner Lexitonian was offered online to breeders on Feb. 6. Lexitonian stands at Lane's End Farm for a 2023 fee of $7,500.

In total, 26 sponsors contributed to the 17 VIP experiences packages offered in the TAA Off to the Races auction and Lexitonian Stallion Season auction.

“Thank you to everyone who participated in our Off to the Races and Lexitonian Stallion Season auctions,” TAA president Jeffrey Bloom said. “We are thrilled with the outcome of these events, and so proud of all the partnerships we have formed along the way with the racetracks, sponsors, and individuals who make all of this possible. We are all here for the horses and so excited by the impact these fundraisers will make on accredited aftercare.”

TAA to Auction 2023 Lexitonian Season

The Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) will offer a Lexitonian 2023 breeding season for auction Monday, Feb. 6 from 6-9 PM EST. Donated by Lexitonian's trainer, Jack Sisterson, the offer entails a 2023 No Guarantee Season with a Breed Back.

Standing at Lane's End for $7,500 LFSN, the Grade I winner's first foals will arrive this year.

“He's a horse who fights,” said trainer Jack Sisterson. “He has the talent, the will, and the heart. He's a class act winning and placing second in multiple Grade I races…Lexitonian brought a lot of great opportunities to our barn which we are forever grateful for–if it were not for the horses, we wouldn't be here. I'm happy for this opportunity to give back to these wonderful horses.”

GISW Lexitonian Represented By First Foal

GI Alfred G. Vanderbilt H. winner Lexitonian (Speightstown) was represented by his first foal Sunday. The filly, out of a half-sister to dual Eclipse winner Roy H. (More Than Ready), was born at Calumet Farm.

“We've been excited to see the foals for our homebred Lexitonian and are delighted that the first one is born at Calumet,” said Eddie Cane, general manager of Calumet. “She has a lot of leg, good bone, and is well balanced.”

Lexitonian stands at Lane's End for a fee of $7,500.
